Twice: once in August and most importantly 09/07/2024 was slowing down to stop at a dry cleaners when the car reved up and accelerated forward. I continued to apply brakes all the way to the floor and couldn’t get it to stop, so ran into the businesses’s van. USAA paidfor repairs to both, but due to fears for my safety and life and those of others, I have not driven it since. I have had it towed for repairs and to be checked by an engineer sent by Toyota.and have had to rent or borrow or pay for rides up until now. The USAA sebt engineer came to check the car but decide the car was fine and Toyota would not offer help with replacement

I own a 2007 Toyota Camry Solara with less than 70,400 miles. It’s up to date on maintenance and is garaged. In December 2020, while garaged, my entire dashboard cracked without warning. After researching the condition, I learned that hundreds of Camrys and Solaras were affected and that Toyota replaced some dashboards under an extended warranty program… one such ZE6 program expired in August 2020. I was not notified. Despite the tremendous safety issue (the entirety of the car’s electronics sits beneath the dashboard including the airbags which, if deployed, can hurl dashboard pieces throughout the interior and blind and disfigure driver and passengers alike). Incredibly, neither Toyota nor NHTSA has issued a recall. Toyota Corp/dealership will do nothing at their expense. I Iive in fear that if my car is bumped or tapped, I’ll be maimed by flying dashboard debris; this puts my passengers and pedestrians at risk as well. Please help me get my dashboard replaced before something unthinkable happens. Thank you.

I REPLACED THE BULB, ONLY TO FIND THE PROBLEM WAS REOCCURRING. HAD THE FUSES CHECKED BY A MECHANIC'THEY WERE FINE. HAD THE WIRING CHECKED, IT WAS FINE. WHAT STARTED HAPPENING SHORTLY AFTERWARDS IS DANGEROUS AND FRIGHTENING: WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE, BOTH HEADLIGHTS WENT OUT WITHOUT NOTIFICATION AND IT TOOK 2-3 TIMES OF TURNING THEM ON AND OFF BEFORE THEY BOTH CAME BACK ON' THEN 3-5 MINUTES LATER THE PASSENGER HEADLIGHT WENT OUT. I HAVE TRIED EVERY COMBINATION OF LIGHTS I KNOW, BRIGHTS, AUTOMATIC, MANUAL.. HIGH BEAMS, FOG.. THE PASSENGER HEADLIGHT WILL GO OUT. THIS EVENING WHILE DRIVING IN THE DARK, BOTH HEADLIGHTS WENT OUT ON A WINDING ROAD, I DECIDED IT WAS TIME TO RE-INVESTIGATE TO SEE IF THIS IS A RECURRING/KNOWN PROBLEM. THE PASSENGER SIDE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHT WILL TURN OFF WITHIN ABOUT 30 SECONDS OF TURNING THE HEADLIGHTS ON. THE PASSENGER SIDE LIGHT WILL BE ON AFTER TURNING THE LIGHTS OFF AND ON AGAIN. THIS PASSENGER SIDE LIGHT WILL THEN TURN OFF AGAIN AFTER ABOUT 30 SECONDS TO 2 MINUTES. THIS HAPPENS WHETHER THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION OR STOPPED.

MY TWO SONS WERE INVOLVED IN A CAR ACCIDENT TO WHERE MY CAR ENDED UP BEING TOTALED AND WHAT IS DISTURBING TO ME IS THAT THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY AT TIME OF IMPACT. THE BRUNT OF THE DAMAGE WAS ON THE PASSENGER SIDE WHICH IS WHERE MY 13 YEAR OLD WAS SITTING.

DRIVER AND/OR PASSENGER HEADLIGHT WILL UNEXPECTEDLY TURN OFF WHILE DRIVING. HEADLIGHTS WILL BE OPERATING NORMALLY AND WITHOUT REASON, ONE OF THE HEADLIGHTS WILL GO OUT. THIS PRESENTS A DANGER TO ME IN MY VEHICLE AS WELL AS OTHER VEHICLES ON THE ROAD. IF I TURN OFF THE HEADLIGHTS AND TURN THEM ON AGAIN, THE LIGHTS WILL GO BACK ON BUT YOU DON'T KNOW FOR HOW LONG BEFORE THEY GO OUT AGAIN. MINE IS A 2007 TOYOTA SOLARA WITH APPROXIMATELY 85,000 MILES. THIS HAS OCCURRED TWICE IN THE PAST COUPLE OF WEEKS WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE. I'VE SEEN MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS FOR THIS SAME ISSUE FROM OTHER SOLARA AND PRIUS OWNERS.

THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE WINDOW MOTOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 48,000.
ENGINE EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION. WHILE I WAS DRIVING ON A CITY STREET OIL LIGHT START FLICKERING AFTER TURNS AND APPLYING BREAK PEDAL. I PULLED MY VEHICLE OVER AND SHUT DOWN AN ENGINE. AFTER I CHECKED MY OIL LEVEL AND IT WAS HARDLY ON A STICK. I DO CHANGE MY OIL REGULARLY, EVERY 5000 MILES. TOYOTA'S OIL LIGHT STARTS FLICKERING WHEN I LOST ALMOST 3 QUARTERS, WHICH COULD LEAD TO ENGINE SHUT DOWN, GLAD I WASN'T ON A HIGHWAY AT THAT TIME AND HAD ENOUGH TIME TO PULL OVER AND TAKE MY CAR TO A MECHANIC TO ADD ENGINE OIL. AS A RESULT OF TOYOTA'S ENGINE ENGINEERING FLOW I LOST ABOUT 3 QUARTERS OF ENGINE OIL IN A LESS THAN 3000. AFTER THIS UNFORTUNATE INCIDENT TOOK PLACE I HAVE BEEN KEEPING MY EYE ON OIL LEVEL. LATER ON I TOOK A CAR TO AUTHORIZED TOYOTA DEALERSHIP. AFTER CHECKING A CAR THEY DIAGNOSED AN OIL LEAK, I FIXED IT, HOWEVER PROBLEM STILL EXIST. MY CAR STILL USES WAY TOO MUCH OIL, WHICH MAKE IT UNSAFE TO DRIVE SINCE I HAVE SLIGHT IDEA WHEN OIL COULD DISAPPEAR WHILE OPERATING A VEHICLE.
