Consequence
If the heat generated within the headlamp switch or DRL module located on the left side of the steering column melts the headlamp switch or DRL module, there is an increased risk of a fire.
Remedy

Remedy
DEALERS WILL SPLICE THE POWER CIRCUIT WIRES FOR THE LOW-BEAM HEADLAMPS AND DRL FREE OF CHARGE. THE RECALL WILL BE MAILED IN THREE PHASES, STARTING AT THE END OF OCTOBER 2007 AND CONCLUDING BY THE END OF JANUARY 2008;. OWNERS MAY CONTACT SUZUKI AT 1-800-934-0934.

Defect Description
ON CERTAIN PASSENGER VEHICLES, THE FRONT SEAT BELT TONGUE WILL NOT LATCH INTO THE BUCKLE AND, IN RARE CASES, EVEN THE LOCKED TONGUE WILL POP OUT BY LOW STRETCHING FORCE. IF THE BUCKLE DOES NOT LATCH COMPLETELY, THE BUCKLE COULD RELEASE WITHOUT PRESSING THE RELEASE BUTTON.
Consequence
THESE BUCKLE MALFUNCTIONS, WHICH COULD PREVENT A PERSON FROM USING THE SEAT BELT OR COULD CAUSE THE SEAT BELT TO FAIL TO FUNCTION AS DESIGNED, CAN INCREASE THE RISK OF INJURY IN A CRASH.
Remedy
DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE FRONT DRIVER AND PASSENGER SEAT BELT BUCKLES WITH THE IMPROVED PART FREE OF CHARGE. THE RECALL BEGAN ON AUGUST 31, 2007. OWNERS MAY CONTACT SUZUKI AT 1-800-934-0934.

I just bought a Used 2006 Suzuki Reno from a private seller 3 months ago. It has less then 53,000 miles on it so I thought I was getting a great deal. While driving it at night 3 weeks ago, I had my lights on high beam. A car was coming towards me so I flipped the light switch on my steering column
... . Which is also the blinker switch. And we almost wrecked head on with each other because when I flipped the switch to go to low beam there was no headlights. None whatsoever on low beam. I have driven on my street testing it to make sure it wasn't a 1 time thing. Or possibly my fault. If I have the low beam lights on when I first turn the lights on they work but go dimmer and dimmer as time goes by. And as soon as I flip the switch whether it's from High beam or low beam it's completely dark. No lights on low beam at all after flipping switch. But they work on high beam. I took it to my mechanic and he said there's a short/problem in the headlight switch/blinker switch on the steering column. I can't/don't drive it at night or anytime after 6pm to be safe. Also my mechanic has had to clear the driver side airbag light that has come on my dashboard 2 times. 1st time he thought it was because the service ingine light came on. He had to replace the cam shaft position sensor. Only a week later the airbag light came back on the dashboard. So off to the repair shop I went again, costing more money. He said he was able to clear it. But not for long. 3 days later it was back on. So I checked different options and took my car to a different repair shop. I was told then that this make and model car had issues with the airbag wire harness from the steering column all the way to how the wiring was ran to the front driver seat how it's to be connected under front driver seat. Causing damage to the airbag sensor & module. Son sold car to me after mom died. Told there's recalls for both, didn't know it or have done. 1 site said yes to car recalls another said no. ??? ON 04/21/15 ANOTHER INCIDENT WAS WHEN I WAS DRIVING TO THE HOSPITAL AND ALL OF A SUDDEN MY CAR DROPPED TO LESS THAN 20 MPH AND WOULDN'T ACCELERATE.I HAD TO PULL OVER WITHOUT POWER STEERING TO GET MY SON TO THE HOSPITAL. AFTER WAITING FOR 3 MINUTES I TRIED AGAIN AND THE SAME THING HAPPENED ON MY WAY TO WORK. MY CAR DIED WHILE I WAS AT THE STOP LIGHT. THIS TIME I WAS ON A HILL AND MY CAR STARTED ROLLING BACKWARDS BUT MY BRAKES WERE ON SO I DIDN'T HIT THE CAR BEHIND ME.THE LATEST INCIDENT OCCURRED WHILE I WAS ON THE FREEWAY AND I WAS GOING 65 MPH AND IT LOST POWER AND I SLOWED TO 20 MPH THEN MY CAR DIED THIS TIME IT TOOK ALMOST 15 MINUTES FOR ME TO START MY CAR. I TOOK IT TO THE SHOP 4 TIMES AND THEY REPLACED MY THROTTLE BODY, THROTTLE ACTUATOR CONTROL, AND MY THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR. IT STILL DIDN'T STOP MY CAR FROM DYING. THIS TIME I WAS ON A HILL AND MY CAR STARTED ROLLING BACKWARDS BUT MY BRAKES WERE ON SO I DIDN'T HIT THE CAR BEHIND ME.THE LATEST INCIDENT OCCURRED WHILE I WAS ON THE FREEWAY AND I WAS GOING 65 MPH AND IT LOST POWER AND I SLOWED TO 20 MPH THEN MY CAR DIED THIS TIME IT TOOK ALMOST 15 MINUTES FOR ME TO START MY CAR. OCCASIONALLY WE WERE CAPABLE OF BRINGING THE CAR WITH THE ISSUE AND THE ERROR CODE DIFFERENTIATES FROM ONE ANOTHER. EACH TIME THEY'VE SAID THEY HAVE FIXED THE CAR BUT IT COMES BACK UP. NOW WE'RE AT A LOSS AS THE EXTENDED WARRANTY WE PURCHASED HAS EXPIRED AND WE CAN NO LONGER AFFORD TO SPEND MORE MONEY ON THIS VEHICLE. AS I WAS DRIVING I NOTICED THAT THE HEADLIGHTS WERE VERY DIM. I PULLED OVER TO TEST MY LIGHTS AND NOTICED THAT WHEN I TURNED ON AND OFF THE HEADLIGHTS THAT THERE WAS NO CHANGE IN BRIGHTNESS. I TURNED OFF THE CAR AND TURNED ON THE HEADLIGHTS AND THE LIGHTS DID NOT COME ON. I HAD BEEN DRIVING WITH
... THE DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED ONLY. I DID A CHECK ONLINE AND DISCOVERED THAT THERE IS A RECALL FOR MY MAKE AND MODEL OF CAR. I CALLED THE LOCAL SUZUKI DEALERSHIP AND AFTER GIVING THEM MY VIN THEY TOLD ME THAT THERE WAS NO ACTIVE RECALL IN EFFECT FOR MY CAR. I THINK THE RECALL SHOULD BE EXPANDED TO MY CAR AS WELL. IN THE INTERIM I AM TAKING MY CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP TO GET THE HEADLAMPS FIXED BUT IT WILL COST ME MONEY TO DO SO. *TRRead more
