UCI-FRAM Group is recalling certain LS1328 ignition Switches sold as Wells LS1328, Duralast LS1328, Airtex 1S6097, and Carquest 53-27479, and LS1497 Ignition Switches sold as Wells LS1497, Duralast LS1497, Airtex 1S10961, and Carquest 53-27967, for use on various General Motors model and model year vehicles during repair and replacement of the original ignition switch. The weight on the key ring and/or road conditions or some other jarring event may cause the affected ignition switches to move out of the run position, turning off the engine and disabling the air bags.
Remedy: UCI-FRAM Group has notified its purchasers to quarantine and return all inventory. Any switches already installed in vehicles will be replaced by GM dealers as part of NHTSA recall 14V-047, free of charge. UCI-Fram's purchasers should contact UCI-FRAM Group at 1-800-890-2075. GM vehicle owners requiring additional information on that recall campaign should contact GM at 1-800-222-1020 (Chevrolet), 1-800-762-2737 (Pontiac) or 1-800-553-6000 (Saturn).

This is a 2007 Saturn Sky base. The GM recall is # 17036. Every time I contact a GM dealer for getting this recall taken care of, I am told they cannot get the parts, or that there is NOT any recall on this vehicle ! The first notice I rec'd for this recall is dated April 2017. I WANT TO GET THIS DONE AND TAKEN CARE OFZ. THIS has gone on long enough !!!
As stated in previous complaint my air bag has failed again. Why is gm allowed to fix these with the exact same system that fails again?
Air bag warning light remains on. Understand that GM issued a recall for this safety hazard that I never received.
I just bought this Saturn Sky a month ago with 9,000.0 miles on it. Yesterday I got the airbag needs serviced light for the passenger seat. So now we have no airbag for a passenger. I know this is apparently a huge problem with the Sky’s.
Air bag sensor warning, Was fixed under recall by previous owner sensor warning came back G.M was going to fix it again but was waiting for parts, I bought the car but I live in Ohio not the State I bought the in, I called the G.M dealer in Ohio and they told me I would have to pay for this same recall that the G.M dealer in the other State said they'd take care of it! It's an airbag problem with the sky's and solitise and should be covered by G.M! Thanks [XXX] ! INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
The parking brake does not engage at all even though the parking brake lever give resistance as normal and only lifts about 5 clicks from the bottom. the vehicle rolls when it is engaged as though it is not even pulled up. This is especially scary because it is a manual vehicle. Only hast 58,449 miles on it. No warning lamps. Have not had it looked at by a dealer or repair facility at this time
I have experienced peeling of the chrome plating (over plastic) on the INSIDE door release handle on the DRIVER'S side door. When I first noticed this, I cut my fingers on the peeling chrome plating. I had to continually cut back the sharp edge, or carefully reach over it, to prevent further cuts to my fingers. The door handle is not available as a service part from GM for the Saturn Sky (and similar Pontiac Solstice). According to parts catalogs, it was only available as part of the inner door assembly, which is long obsolete for the driver's door side. I was forced to adapt a part from the Chevrolet Cobalt (and used an aftermarket part from Dorman) to replace the handle when I got tired of dealing with cuts. There are a number of YouTube videos showing how to replace the handle, which indicates this is not a one-off problem.

The contact owns a 2007 Saturn Sky. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken to the dealer to be repaired under NHTSA Campaign Number: 17V061000 (Air Bags). The contact stated that the dealer informed him that the air bag warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 4,000.
I recently purchased this Saturn Sky. It has only 18000 miles on it air bag service light just came on after only driving 300 miles. It doesn't have any recall to be repaired. It appears its already been fixed but I have to pay $979.00 for a repeat repair.
I received a recall notice for my Saturn Sky's airbag system in the mail. There was no service light on in my car, and I did not have any known problems, however, to be safe I took my car in. Now the service airbag light is on in my car and I am told that the part that was supposed to be fixed needs to be replaced. If it had been properly repaired or the part replaced when I took it in for the recall, I should not need to pay over $800 to replace it now. I read that the recall only required a piece of tape to be applied. A band aid? What kind of a recall does this?
Vehicle was identified for Recall for passenger airbag system failure, and supposedly repaired or fixed. Called about the recall as the problem has shown up again as the repair is using the same parts that failed before causing the reason for the recall to begin with. Vehicle has a total of 43,000 miles as of this writing. Why was the recall using the same part instead of a correct repair? The condition allows for a failure of this system at anytime, but required to function by law. In addition the repair or reoccurring and ongoing repair due to poor design and defective design and construction with a system that does not work and will not pass inspection. Awaiting your response for correction action of ongoing problem.
Service airbag light just came on car only has 27,000 miles on it
Passenger airbag sensor has failed again after being fixed from the first recall.

i WAS DRIVING ON MY WAY TO A DOCTOR'S APPOINTMENT, AND WHEN I REACHED A SPEED OF 55 MPH, THERE WAS A LOUD WHINING SOUND COMING FROM THE REAR. I HAD TO SLOW DOWN BELOW 55, SO THE NOISE WOULD GO AWAY, AND IT SCARED ME. WHILE DRIVING THE CAR, I COULD HEAR SOUNDS FROM THE REAR WHILE MAKING SLOW TURNS AROUND THE NEIGHBORHOOD. BEFORE BUYING THE CAR, I HAD A PAID INSPECTION, THE MECHANIC OBSERVED AN OIL DRIP FROM AROUND THE DIFFERENTIAL. THE CAR ONLY HAD 4000 MILES WHEN I BOUGHT IT. THE OWNER SAID SHE HAD TAKEN IT IN FOR A RECALL- #07204 - ON THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL AND HAD THE REAR PINION SEAL REPLACED. MY MECHANIC SAID THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL IS LEAKING OIL CAUSING THE DIFFERENTIAL NOISES. HE DRAINED THE DIFF OIL ADDING NEW OIL.($175) IT APPEARS THAT THE RECALL REPAIR HAS FAILED TO FIX THE DIFFERENTIAL OIL LEAK. THE SELLER HAS THE ORIGINAL #07204 RECEIPT FROM THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MILEAGE WAS 1,483. I PURCHASED THE CAR WITH 4,100 MILES- I ONLY DROVE IT FOR 1900 MILES. THE CAR NOW HAS 6,000 MILES ON IT. THE RECALL STATES If the vehicle is not repaired and damage progresses, three conditions can occur: (1) When the vehicle is stopped and shifted to reverse, the differential may jam and prevent vehicle movement; (2) the damage can cause drag that will feel like the brake is applied; or (3) the differential could jam and lock the drive wheels while the vehicle is in motion. If(3) occurs, the driver may not be able to control the vehicle and a crash could occur without warning. I AM CONVINCED THAT WITH THE LOW MILES, THE ORIGINAL RECALL HAD FAILED TO FIX THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL OIL LEAK. IT CONTINUES TO LEAK. I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE THIS CAR. IT IS A BEAUTIFUL 2007 SILVER SATURN SKY, 6000 MILES. I AM 78 Y.O.& RETIRED. SINCE THE 1ST RECALL FAILED TO FIX THE PROBLEM, COULD A FOLLOW-UP REMEDY RECALL BE HONORED TO ME SO THAT I COULD DRIVE MY CAR SAFELY? THANK YOU VERY KINDLY!
Service Air Bag light coming on. Known issue about passenger airbag sensor in seat
Recall failure of airbag seat occupancy sensor. The car was taken to authorized dealer in 2018 for the recall. The sensor failed in 2021. The recall did not replace the seat sensor but only added reinforcement tape. In 2021 the air bag lights came on. An authorized dealer investigation found the airbag seat sensor had failed. GM was notifed through the dealer and replied the warranty was over and they are not responsible for the recall repair after the warranty period. The recall rectification appears to be poorly designed leading to eventual failure of the sensor leaving passengers unprotected.. Please follow-up with GM on this issue. I'm sure thousands of cars are affected.

The recall that GM did was supposed to fix the problem but did not. I have a 07 Saturn Sky Redline. and was serviced for recall # 17036 or NHTSA recall number 17V061000 three years ago. This Recall was due to the faulty Passenger Pressure Module GM part number 84447741. I bought the car in to the dealer and waited two months for a NO, and then call the Saturn customer service recall line and talked with Camile. I explained that due to covid and no place to go the car has been driven a little over 3,000 miles and approximately my wife who weighs 130 pounds has set in the seat for 500 miles. Camile stated that due to the 1-year recall warranty for the passenger pressure module no matter how my miles it was driven. I informed Camile that when my wife sits in the seat the passenger airbag switches on and off constantly and that the recall that GM did was supposed to fix the problem but did not that I hope she understood that. I am the second owner and bought the car with 32000 miles, the Passenger pressure module has been changed three times since I have owned the car.
I brought my 2007 Saturn Sky in for Recall repair of passenger seat airbag presence system.... The dealership added 4 retaining clips and a reinforcement strip to the passenger seat as part of the recall. Now my airbag warning light is always on and my dashboard info system says ' service airbag' The passenger seat sensor was never replaced as the recall states it should have been.

The passenger seat airbag sensor has failed for a second time. This issue was the subject of a GM recall 17036 dated May 2017. Under this recall my seat sensor failure was corrected. This car is driven very little (about 2000 miles per year average) and 99 percent of the time with no passenger. Battle Field Chevrolet says the warranty for the recall has expired and gave a written quote R.O. 6030264/1 dated 4/12/21 of $792.88 to repair/correct the failure. I have paper copies of the recall notice and the reference quote. This is a vehicle safety issue. A Passenger would be at risk riding in the seat until repaired. The vehicle cannot pass the annual state safety inspection until corrected. This is a design flaw on the part of General Motors and should again be repaired at no expense to the vehicle owner.
HVAC blower motor stopped working via the control knob. Through online forums & repair guides, I did some troubleshooting to determine which component I might need to order (i.e. fuse, relay, blower motor assembly, blower resistor, etc). During that research, many others noted that the blower resistor is known to become defective, and that melting of the resistor & the harness connector are common. This is exactly the situation I found, and it is not at all unreasonable to conclude that this could have easily resulted in a fire. These same parts are shared by the Pontiac Solstice and the Hummer H3 (for which, I believe, a recall was issued). The parts to fix this problem are not overly expensive & readily available -- and the replacement process is not difficult. What IS difficult is to think this is a known problem which can (& has) caused vehicle fires, and yet no recall or official notice has been issued to warn vehicle owners.
HAD PPS RECALL REPAIR DONE AND LATER ISSUE RETURNED. AIR BAG SENSOR LIGHT STAYS ON.
THE FLUID LEAKED OUT OF THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL CAUSING A THUMPING AND GRINDING NOISE IN THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL WHEN MAKING RIGHT AND LEFT TURNS FROM A COMPLETE STOP. I BELIEVE THE SEAL WAS REPLACED BUT HAS FAILED AGAIN AND CAUSED DAMAGE TO THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL AND NOW UNSAFE TO DRIVE. THE CAR HAS 30,000 MILES WHICH IS RELATIVELY LOW FOR THAT YEAR. THE CAR AND IS USED PRIMARILY DURING THE SUMMER MONTHS AS I LIVE IN A SEMI NORTHERN STATE.
DURING TYPICAL DAYTIME DRIVING, THE INSTRUMENT PANEL IS NOT READABLE. I NEED TO TURN ON MY HEAD LIGHTS MANUALLY DURING THE DAY TO SEE HOW FAST I AM GOING. REVIEW THE PICTURE TO SEE HOW DARK THE INSTRUMENTS ARE DURING DRIVING. GENERAL MOTORS NEEDS TO APPLY TSB #06-08-49-016 (NHTSA: 10020735) AS A RECALL TO RESOLVE THIS PROBLEM.
THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER IS SET DEEP INTO THE INSTRUMENT PANEL FOR STYLING PURPOSES. AS A RESULT, THE GAUGES ARE VERY DARK AND CANNOT BE READ DURING DAYTIME DRIVING. GM SHOULD MAKE A SOFTWARE PATCH AVAILABLE TO TURN ON THE BACK LIGHTING TO THE GAUGES DAY OR NIGHT WHEN THE IGNITION IS TURNED ON. OTHER VEHICLES ARE SETUP THIS WAY. THE SATURN SKY SHOULD TOO. HOW CAN I DRIVE SAFE WHEN I CANNOT SEE HOW FAST I AM GOING?

PLEASE HELP....ALSO, DOES THIS CAR HAVE AIRBAGS THAT NEED TO BE REPLACED WITH ALL OF THE AIRBAG PROBLEMS OF LATE?
THESE CARS HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THE PASSENGER SEAT SENSOR, WHICH TURNS ON AND OFF THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG. WHILE GM DID ISSUE A RECALL ABOUT A YEAR AGO, THE PARTS USED WERE A SIMPLE "BAND-AID" FIX. MY CAR WAS REPAIRED A LITTLE OVER A YEAR AGO, AND HAS DONE 5000 MILES SINCE, AND THE "REPAIRED" PART HAS FAILED AGAIN. GM IS REFUSING TO FIX THIS UNDER RECALL AND/OR WARRANTY AND THE COST TO FIX THIS IS $1000! THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE, AND IT SHOULD BE COVERED, OR THE RECALL SHOULD BE ACTIVE ONCE AGAIN! ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS! THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH OTHER SATURN SKY AND PONTIAC SOLSTICE OWNERS AS WELL.

THIS VEHICLE HAD A RECALL FOR A FAULTY SWITCH UNDER THE PASSENGER SEAT THAT WAS TO TELL THE AIR BAG A PASSENGER WAS IN THE SEAT. I COMPLETED THE RECALL AT GENILLINI MOTORS IN WOODBINE, NJ IN APRIL OF 2018. THE REPLACEMENT SWITCH HAS FAILED (6/2019). THE SYSTEM, AGAIN, NO LONGER DETECTS A PASSENGER AND I SUSPECT THE AIR BAG WILL NOT DEPLOY. THIS CAR HAS HAD LESS 1000 MILES OF USE SINCE THE REPAIR AND THERE IS RARELY A PASSENGER IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. BOTH THE PASSENGER AIR BAG DETECTION LIGHT AND THE AIR BAG DASH LIGHT GO ON AND OFF RANDOMLY. BOTH USUALLY ARE ON WHEN THE CAR STARTS BUT SOMETIME GOES OFF WHEN THERE IS A PASSENGER IN THE PASSENGER SEAT AND THE CAR IS MOVING. I CONTACTED GM AND GOT NO WHERE WITH THEM. TAKATA RECALL. I HAVE BEEN TRYING FOR A YEAR TO GET THIS RECALL TAKEN CARE OF. MY VEHICLE NEEDS THE MODULE AND IT IS UNAVAILABLE. I HAVE HAD IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY DETERMINED THAT IT REQUIRES THE PART, BUT THEY CAN'T GET THE PART SO MY CAR IS SITTING WITH EXPIRED INSPECTION NOW AND I CAN'T DRIVE IT. I THINK GM IS NOT INTENDING TO MAKE THIS PART AVAILABLE BUT HTEY DON'T WANT ANYONE TO KNOW THAT.
