AIR BAGS Feb 19, 2026
The contact's friend owned a 2019 Mini Clubman. The contact stated that while the driver was driving 25 MPH from a complete stop, another vehicle traveling approximately 30 MPH crashed into the front passenger's side of the vehicle by the fender, in the middle of an intersection. The driver depressed the brake pedal and brought the vehicle to a stop. The air bags failed to deploy. The contact was occupying the front passenger's side seat while the contact's wife was occupying the rear driver's side seat. Both the contact and the driver were able to exit the vehicle. The contact's wife was bleeding due to the front of the hairline being torn open and pushed back to the skull. The contact's wife was assisted out of the vehicle by the ambulance and was provided first aid. The contact's wife was not wearing a seat belt during the incident because she could not find the seat belt buckle prior to the incident. All the passengers of the vehicle were taken to the trauma center of a hospital. The contact's wife underwent surgery. The contact sustained back pain and was currently wearing a back brace. The driver sustained unknown injuries. The vehicle was towed and totaled. No further information was available because the driver had stopped communicating with the contact since the incident. The failure mileage was unknown.

EXTERIOR LIGHTING:BRAKE LIGHTS Nov 19, 2025

The vehicle returned to normal functionality, but the failure became a regular occurrence. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer or an independent mechanic. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, a case was opened, and the contact was referred to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was 66,000.
POWER TRAIN Feb 5, 2025
Manual transmission had an issue with 2nd gear not fully engaging and popping out under light acceleration. Transmission was replaced under warranty in December 2022. In April of 2024 the same issue occurred again where 2nd gear would not stay in gear after 18 months of having transmission replaced. The replaced transmission is no longer under warranty. This indicates a part defect of their 6-speed manual transmissions.
AIR BAGS Feb 26, 2024
January 28, 2024 I had a car accident and the air bags on my left side never deployed. The other vehicle crashed into the right side (passenger side) of my 2019 mini clubman which caused my 2019 mini clubman to spin around and hit another car on my left rear bumper. As a result, I suffered a fractured rib and a brain hemorrhage.

UNKNOWN OR OTHER Jul 5, 2023
My Mini Clubman All4, despite having clocked in a mere 33,000 miles in the past four years, has been plagued with issues concerning its air conditioning system. Initially, I sought assistance from the Mini of Morristown dealership in Morristown, NJ, where my vehicle has been serviced over the years. However, their service proved to be unsatisfactory. Despite reassurances that they had recharged the system and that there were no inherent issues, the problem persisted. Upon contacting them again, I was informed that further diagnostics would be subject to additional charges. Disconcerted, I reached out to Mini's customer service team, only to be met with a reaffirmation that there was little they could do. With no resolution in sight, I sought help from a local independent mechanic, who quickly identified the root cause - a compressor line rubbing against other components, leading to leakage – PART # F56 6453 9209722-04. This diagnosis and the ability to swiftly rectify it contrasts starkly with the inability of the authorized dealership to provide effective solutions. This issue may be indicative of a design flaw requiring a recall to prevent further mishaps that could endanger Mini owners. You are welcome to contact Mini of Morristown, NJ, for all service records associated with this issue. I urge you to take immediate action and rectify this situation, not just for my sake but for the sake of all Mini customers. I HAVE THE PART AND CAN SHIP IT. I ALREADY PROVIDED PICTURES OF THE WEAR IN MY EMAIL. The summer heat with the AC not working is surely a hazard. The issue was confirmed by the independent service center that diagnosed and fixed the problem. The manufacturer has been indifferent thus far. It is only now that I have raised a concern with the company's CEO's office. No warning lamps or messages appeared. The Mini team has been incompetent in addressing the issue.
