SUSPENSION:REAR
Maserati North America, Inc. (Maserati) is recalling certain model year 2005-2008 Quattroporte, 2008 Granturismo, and 2008 Alfa Romeo 8C vehicles. The rear tie rod assemblies may have insufficient anti-corrosion material applied, allowing them to weaken and possibly fail.
Remedy: Maserati will notify owners and dealers will replace the tie rod assemblies. The recall began on June 27, 2013. Customers may contact Maserati at 1-877-696-2737. Maserati's recall campaign number is 205.

SUSPENSION:FRONT:CONTROL ARM:LOWER BALL JOINT
MASERATI IS RECALLING 7,912 MY 2008 GRAN TURISMO, QUATTROPORTE, AND ALFA ROMEO VEHICLES. INCORRECTLY TORQUED UPPER AND LOWER BALL JOINT NUTS MAY CAUSE THE BALL JOINT NUTS TO LOOSEN.
Remedy: DEALERS WILL INSPECT THE TORQUE OF THE FRONT/REAR UPPER AND LOWER BALL JOINT NUTS AND, IF NECESSARY, REPLACE THE SUSPENSION ARMS AND HUB CARRIER. THE RECALL IS EXPECTED TO BEGIN DURING FEBRUARY 2009. Owners may contact Maserati customer service at 1-877-696-2737.

SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC:ANTILOCK/TRACTION CONTROL/ELECTRONIC LIMITED SLIP:CONTROL UNIT/MODULE
ON CERTAIN PASSENGER VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSIONS, A DEFECT IN THE ANTILOCK BRAKE/ANTI-SKID SYSTEM (ABS/ASR) ELECTRONIC CONTROL UNIT (ECU) SOFTWARE MAY PREVENT THE SYSTEM FROM FUNCTIONING PROPERLY. A LOSS OF FUNCTION MAY RESULT IN A LOSS OF CERTAIN ENHANCED STABILITY AND BRAKING CONTROL DURING SOME HIGH SPEED MANEUVERS AND HIGH SPEED BRAKING.
Remedy: THE ABS/ASR ELECTRONIC CONTROL UNIT WILL BE REPLACED FREE OF CHARGE. THE RECALL BEGAN ON JULY 27, 2007. Owners may contact Maserati customer service at 1-877-696-2737.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 MASERATI QUATTROPORTE. WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH, THE VEHICLE DECELERATED AND SEIZED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE A DIAGNOSTIC TEST WAS PERFORMED, BUT THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DETERMINED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. MASERATI OF SEATTLE (1401 12TH AVE, SEATTLE, WA 98122, (206)-329-7070) WAS CONTACTED TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT FOR A SECOND DIAGNOSTIC TEST. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 150,000.

TAKATA RECALL . I WAS DRIVING MY 2007 MASERATI QUARTROPORTE ON A HIGHWAY AND A DASH MESSAGE CAME ON THAT READ. "AIRBAG DEFECT, DO NOT PROCEED ". I WAS AFRAID TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE NOT KNOWING WHICH AIRBAG WAS DEFECTIVE. THE VEHICLE WAS PARK AND TOWED TO MASERATI DEALER. DEALER WANTS TO CHARGE OVER $2,000.00 TO REPAIR AND REPLACE AIRBAG ON FRONT LEFT SIDE. HE SAYS IT ISN'T RELATED TO TAKATA. HE DOESN'T KNOW WHO MANUFACTURED THE AIRBAG. VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY AT DEALERSHIP BEING REPAIRED, BUT NOT PAID FOR. PLEASE HELP AND CONTACT MASERATI OF SEATTLE.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 MASERATI QUATTROPORTE. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH, THE BRAKES FAILED TO ENGAGE CAUSING THE CONTACT TO LOSE CONTROL AND CRASH INTO A CONCRETE BARRIER. THE CONTACT DID NOT SUSTAIN ANY INJURIES AND A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A BODY SHOP. HOWEVER, THE FAILURE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR WAS THE VEHICLE REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 72,000.

HAD 2 BLOW OUTS ON A TRIP TO RALEIGH NC CHANGED FIRST ON WAY THEIR & JACK WORKED FINE TO REPLACE FRONT PASSENGER TIRE WITH MY SPARE, ON TRIP HOME HAD A BLOW OUT ON REAR PASSENGER TIRE SINCE I DIDN'T HAVE ANOTHER SPARE TIRE I HAD TO BE PICKED UP 60 MILES FROM HOME BY MY WIFE & WENT NEXT DAY WITH SPARE TIRES TO CHANGE TIRES AND BRING CAR HOME. UPON CHANGING FIRST TIRE JACK WORKED FINE THEN UPON CHANGING 2N TIRE JACK COMPLETELY STRIPPED THE BOLT AND FELL BACK TO THE GROUND TIRE WAS STILL ATTACHED OR SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE WOULD LIKELY HAVE OCCURRED THIS JACK APPEARED TO BE NEW CONDITION & NEVER BEEN USED. IT WORKED TO CHANGE 2 TIRES THEN COMPLETELY FAILED. UPON POSTING MY EXPERIENCE ON MASERATI FORUM SEVERAL OTHERS MENTIONED THE SAME PROBLEM AND SOMEONE FROM SUGGESTED I POST THIS HERE. THIS WAS A$120,000 CAR NEW AND NEVER HAD A JACK FAIL SO PREMATURELY. I DO NOT HAVE A JACK FOR MY VEHICLE JUST THE DAMAGED JACK ANY SUGGESTIONS ON HOW TO GET A REPLACEMENT IS APPRECIATED ALSO.
