The rear suspension lateral links (Rear Control Arm No. 1) have failed to remain adjustable because they were permanently encapsulated in epoxy by the dealer during the official Lexus Safety Recall for rear suspension arm corrosion. This component is currently installed on the vehicle and available for inspection upon request. This "locked" state has caused a severe misalignment resulting in premature tire failure, with the current set of tires showing significant inner tread wear and reaching the end of their life far sooner than their expected mileage rating. This creates an immediate hazard of a sudden highway blowout, compromised braking stability, and emergency handling instability that endangers both the occupants and other drivers. Furthermore, the constant lateral drag puts undue stress on other suspension components and reduces fuel efficiency. This problem was first confirmed by an independent service center (Brakes Plus) and subsequently verified by a Lexus dealership technician on January 24, 2026, who acknowledged the parts are non-adjustable due to the manufacturer's recall remedy but refused to replace them under the program. The manufacturer's refusal to replace these locked parts forces the continued operation of an unsafe vehicle.
Car has a brake malfunction. There was a recall issued for this model in 2013 for this year and model, yet they only included some VIN#'s in the recall when they know most if not all of these models have the problem. Recall: 13V235000 "Model year 2010 Lexus HS250h vehicles manufactured June 19, 2009, through October 9, 2009. Nitrogen gas from a component of the brake booster pump assembly could leak into the brake fluid." My car was manufactured during this period yet is still not included in the recall list. Lexus is absolutely responsible for a brake booster replacement, yet they refuse to accept responsibility. My car has always had odd braking on slick grounds, it has always skipped and slipped forward needing a larger breaking distance than a normal vehicle. Now my dash is lit up like a christmas tree due to a manufacturing malfunction. More VIN#'s need to be added to this Break recall. Please issue a safety investigation into this matter as more vehicles need to be included.
Pre Collision System light on dash, abs lights, traction lights etc Error Code C1391which requires a Brake Booster pump AND a Brake booster pump kit due to a MALFUNCTION which should be manufacturers responsibility. They launched a customer support program for a very short period (you had to have the error during this short time) and EXCLUDED all HS250h from the Secondary Coverage period by noting expiry if vehicle is over 10years which they were past that at the time of LAUNCHING THE CUSTOMER SUPPORT PROGRAM which is completely unethical and negligent to their customers. I was never notified of this program. This short time frame under the program leaves MOST customers with these vehicles at risk. A safety RECALL should've been done as this is a big safety issue. It is not safe to drive with a bad brake booster because it significantly compromises your vehicle's braking power, making it dangerous. A failing brake booster can cause a vacuum leak, which can lead to the engine stalling when you apply the brakes. Unreliable and worsening problem: The issue is likely to get worse over time, and you could be caught off guard by a complete failure, leaving you with dangerously unreliable brakes. Vehicle has been inspected by Lexus and Toyota, both quoting astronomical fees associated with Brake booster replacement due to malfunction. Lexus Customer Brand Support was of no help, just repeatedly stating that the program expired and that it is up to me if i want to pursue legal action because this needs to be resolved by lexus. There have been class action suits and accidents due to this malfunction and I will pursue legal action as this is complete negligence by Lexus.

there was a safety recall issued for this model for this year for this car. I took the car to someone and they told me there was a recall for this issue so I should take to the dealer. I took to the dealer in Chandler, they told me there was no open recalls. I called the Lexus customer service line, they told me to take the car to the place where they had originally done the recall work, at Bell Lexus. Even though they know this was from a recall they will not perform the work even though this is a known issue and safety recall on this car. this is the same combination as the recall and they will not even consider fixing it. The contact owns a 2010 Lexus HS 250H. The contact stated while driving 30 MPH and depressing the accelerator pedal, the vehicle failed to respond as intended. The contact stated that upon depressing the accelerator pedal a second time, the vehicle jerked while responding sluggishly. The contact stated that the failure also occurred while making a turn. The contact stated that the accelerator pedal was depressed but the vehicle came to a complete stop, nearly causing oncoming traffic to crash into the vehicle. The contact stated upon depressing the accelerator pedal a second time, the vehicle jerked while responding sluggishly. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the hybrid battery had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired due to the cost. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 89,000.
ABS Braking System Pump with an abnormal leak of ACC Press. Under recall # DLD for the same ABS Brake Booster Pump failure a Lexus dealer repaired the system under recall notice in 2013. The same issue happened again in 2025 an ABS Brake Booster Pump failure rendering the car unsafe to drive with a defective braking system, an ABS light and Brake light illuminated on the dashboard. The vehicle was taken to a local repair shop which informed me the vehicle was unsafe to drive. I contacted the dealer who stated the repair in 2013 was on warrantied for one year. I then called Lexus corporation under Case # 250212001465 and spoke to several Lexus corporate consumer advocates in their resolution department, who essentially stated Lexus cannot assist with a failed ABS Brake Booster component as it was once repaired and the responsibility to repair the ABS brake system pump falls on me the customer. I informed Lexus this was not a broken headlight, this is a safety issue, an abilty to stop the car braking issue for us and others on the road as the car is unsafe to drive at any speed. Therfore, I request the NTSB assistance to resolve this matter.
Lexus had a recall on certain 2010 HS250H cars for an issue where they have nitrogen gas leaking into brake fluid causing brake failure. My Vin number was not one of recalls however in August of 2023 they sent me a notice stating that if my car has this problem they will repair at no cost to me. Very expensive repair. That notice says they will repair until March 31 2024. It says if certain warning lights are not on , don't take it to get repaired. My car now has this problem and they are saying they won't repair it unless I pay for repair. I have 5 warning lights on and cruise control now won't work as well as they note that brakes could fell causing a collision. I can't afford the repair and I don't agree that they won't repair it. Under the recall there is no time limit and they would repair it today. To me they are verifying that my car was one that should be on recall since it's the same exact issue and they sent me letter verifying that my car was one with problem. Is there anything I can do?
The contact owns a 2010 Lexus HS-250h. The contact stated that the check engine warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that while depressing the brake pedal, the brake pump was continuously pumping brake fluid. The vehicle was taken to a certified mechanic who diagnosed that the braking system had malfunctioned, and there was an abnormal leaking of the adaptive cruise control pressure. The contact learned of NHTSA Campaign Number: 13V235000 (Service Brakes) which was related to the failure. The dealer was contacted and confirmed that the VIN was not included in the recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 222,000.

Car stops un-expectantly while driving, this caused the car to turn off and not be able to steer, then it turns back on without warning. This results in not being able to control the car. This resulted in being hit by three cars. It looks like Lexus listed a notice, however we did not receive it, and were not aware of the notice. Waring lamps did come on please see pictures.

A week ago I started hearing a clunking noise in the steering column. It would also clunk near the front left wheel when I turned steering wheel. I was told I need to replace the rack and pinion steering, tie rods, and steering shaft. This is a very expensive repair. My 2010 HS250h only has 98,000 miles. I have never-ever had to replace the rack and pinion steering in any car! (Nor has anyone I know.) I believe this is a serious safety issue, especially since there were no warning lights to alert me of this problem. I am totally shocked that this would happen in a LEXUS! There clearly must be a defect in the car. (Like there was with the brake booster pump that I had to replace a year ago.) Lexus needs to step up, acknowledge the defect, and reimburse.
I own a 2010 Lexus HS250H. the problem exists that every warning light associated with the braking, traction, and anti lock system is on. Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS), Traction Control System (TRAC), and Vehicle Stability Control System (VSC) The dealer said it was a faulty Brake de booster and said it was checked in 2010 and was fine. And to fix the system they need to replace the brake de-booster at a charge of $3000. Apparently, it is not fine, and requested them to comply with the recall and change the debooster, and they said no. Are they libel for the recall fix? SAFETY RECALL GLK REAR LOWER SUSPENSION ARM No.1 CERTAIN 2010 MODEL YEAR HS250h was done previously in 2016 and epoxy was put on the lower control arms rendering the suspension not being able to be aligned by conventional means. The car is now out of alignment in the rear and cannot be adjusted due to the epoxy. Dealership states that once a recall is done it cannot be redone for free and it would be out of pocket. This service can only be done at certified dealership. The car pulls to the right and it swings, sways and drifts into corners and feels very unstable.
Taking left turn, heard a loud sound and complete loss of control of vehicle. Currently being inspected by Lexus dealership, although car was initially towed to dealership service center from which is was purchased. They mentioned lower control arm of rear suspension bolt was lost/missing and rear struts were shot and vehicle is unsafe to drive. I then paid for a second tow from dealership to Lexus dealership. No warning lights were lit except after total loss of control.
Same transmission issue that was recalled is having same issues. Recall was not resolved.
I have a 2010 HS 250h with 90,000 miles. Out of the blue, the brake actuator started activating every 10 seconds (and even runs for a while once car is shut off) and there is a noise coming from brake pedal area when depressed. Lexus had previously recalled some 2010 HS 250 cars for brake booster pump issues. My VIN was not part of the recall; I dreaded this day would come. Toyota/Lexus is well aware of the brake booster pump issues in their hybrids. Dealer confirmed the issue and now it will cost me $3500 to have a problem fixed that Lexus should have handled a long time ago. I've contacted Lexus corporate and they will not fix the car. I hope the NHTSA will look into all the complaints about this issue and 2010 HS 250h cars. Lexus needs to step up and issue another recall.
The previous recall on this issue is not completely resolved. The rear suspension on this model of Lexus was simply epoxied in place permanently. The recall "resolution" approved by NHTSA and implemented by Lexus does not allow for the common maintenance on the vehicle - namely, alignment. Therefore, inordinate and substantial tire wear occurs due to the inability to align the wheels. The only way to “align” the tires is to buy completely new suspension parts (approximately $900) which will then be permanently epoxied in place again. Instead of the normal alignment ($100) again in an expected maintenance period, the Lexus dealer requires entire replacement again. This recall was NOT repaired. This recall was permanently and unsafely epoxied in place without the possibility of alignment needed for safety. It is unsafe to drive a car that cannot be aligned properly. Tire failure is a real and present danger. My tires were excessively worn and could have blown out.
Recall for Rear Suspension arms. There was a recall on my car which was processed in Aug 2016 at 89k miles by previous owner. I purchased the car in Dec 2021-Jan 2022 at around 93-94k miles. This means the car was almost not used by previous owner for 5 years as the recall wasn't performed well Also, the label for "safety recall" is still on the entire rear suspension arms which proves the point. When i called the dealership, they mentioned they never ever leave the stickers ON after the recall is processed which is contradictory to the repairs done. This is a serious safety issue and Lexus is liable to fix this recall but they are asking me to pay for it. I do not have any extra money to keep spending just because of the recalls not processed correctly. It goes with the brand Lexus which i trusted to buy. Recall is not done correctly which is a FACT. After driving for few months and just around 3-4 k miles the new tires are completely destroyed. This is when my wife was doing on freeway this happened which is very scary and serious safety concern. Attaching the pictures and certificate of recall repairs, if you can help in this regards.
Fuel leak in fuel pump caused my car to completely stop on the highway. No warning lights came on. Lexus company denies that my car was not part of the recall for the fuel pumps on the Lexus HS250 even though multiple issues reported for the fuel pump for this make an model,
Initially, the ABS, BRAKE, and Anti-skid lights illuminated on the instrument panel and braking began to be spongier than normal. This condition continued for approximately 4 years. The brake system now has failed and braking is extremely slow. The car began beeping constantly while on with or without the engine running. This latest error took place while driving at approximately 55mph, soon after a car entered the highway (4 lanes) in front of me, I braked but the brakes did not actuate properly increasing the stopping time and distance. Luckily, I was able to move to the left-hand lane and avoid a collision. This occurred on February 13, 2022 AutoZone pulled the following codes: C1241, C1252-Hydro-booster pump motor malfunction, C1253-Hydro-booster pump motor relay malfunction, C1256-Accumulator low-pressure malfunction, C1311-Open circuit in main relay 1, and C1391-Abnormal leak of ACC PRESS (All except C1241 are related to the braking system) No one has inspected the component. I was able to locate NHTSA Recall Bulletin Reference #10V039000 (SERVICE BRAKES, AIR:ANITILOCK:CONTROL UNIT/MODULE) that references Lexus HS250h models manufactured up to February 2010, yet my VIN doesn't pull up this bulletin when searching the database even though it was manufactured in February of 2010.
The brake booster pump/accumulator has a diagnosed internal leak. It is identical to Toyota Safety Recall 13V-235 for Certain 2010 Model Year HS250h Vehicles. The exact failure described is what my Lexus HS 250h is experiencing and the DTC code is C1391, which FOUR separate shops have verified. The recall listed DTC C1246 and C1256, yet the condition is that there is an internal leak and one must replace the booster pump master assembly. They describe it as following, "The subject vehicles are equipped with brake pressure accumulators consisting of a metal plunger containing brake fluid encased in a metal housing. The plunger is designed with metal pleated bellows to allow for motion. Nitrogen gas is sealed between the plunger and housing. There is a possibility that a fatigue crack could develop in the bellows due to the vertical vibration of the plunger while driving. If this occurs, nitrogen gas could leak into the brake fluid and gradually cause the brake pedal stroke to become longer, resulting in decreased hydraulic pressure. Under certain circumstances, this condition could affect stopping distance and increase the risk of a crash." I have record they did try a repair for this at 17 miles, before purchase, but it clearly DID NOT remedy the situation. After 80,000 miles with a gently driven car they should be required to :Replace the brake booster pump assembly (accumulator) AND the brake booster assembly. The remedy described in the recall information . Out of three repair shops, three have indicated that they cannot make the repair due to Lexus parts or warranty. It is at a Lexus repair presently.

WHILE DRIVING ANYTIME I ATTEMPT TO SLOW THE VEHICLE THE BRAKES DO NOT WORK AS IT SHOULD THE CAR CONTINUE TO ROLL FORWARD FOR A FEW SECONDS BEFORE IT COMPLETELY STOPS. ABS AND TRACTION CONTROL LIGHTS ARE ON. MY MECHANIC INSPECTED THE VEHICLE AND ADVISED THAT BRAKE BOOSTER PUMP NEEDS TO BE REPLACED AND SAID THERE IS A SAFETY RECALL FOR THIS FAULTY PART. I TOOK MY CAR TO LEXUS BUT THEY REFUSED TO FIX THE RECALL AS MY VIN IS NOT LISTED IN EFFECTED VEHICLES VIN LIST. PLEASE HELP/
WHILE DRIVING SOUTH ON A THREE LANE ROADWAY, MY DAUGHTER AND I WERE INVOLVED IN A COLLISION. WHILE I WAS DRIVING, A MOTORIST WAS EXITING A FAST FOOD RESTAURANT PARKING LOT FROM THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE ROAD, AND SUDDENLY ACCELERATED ACROSS ONCOMING TRAFFIC (ASSUMING THE DRIVER WANTED TO MAKE A LEFT TURN) WITHOUT OBSERVING THE RIGHT OF WAY TO THE DRIVERS ON THE ROAD. THE VEHICLE HIT MY CAR ON THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE WHERE MY CHILD WAS SITTING. THE DRIVERS' SIDE AIRBAGS DID DEPLOY, BUT THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE PASSENGER SIDE WAS HIT WITH THE FORCEFUL IMPACT FROM THE NEGLIGENT DRIVER. I DID NOT HEAR ANY VEHICLE WARNINGS PRIOR TO THE COLLISION. A POLICE REPORT WAS MADE FOR THIS INCIDENT.

ANYTIME I RIDE OVER A BUMPY PATCH ON A ROAD ON A STREET AND THEN ATTEMPT TO SLOW THE VEHICLE, THE BRAKES DO NOT APPEAR TO WORK AS ONE WOULD EXPECT. THE CAR CONTINUES TO ROLL FORWARD FOR A FEW SECONDS PRIOR TO COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP. THIS IS EXTREMELY UNNERVING. TO DATE, THIS HAS NOT RESULTED IN AN ACCIDENT, BUT IF NOT ADDRESSED IT COULD LEAD TO POTENTIAL DAMAGES.
SAFETY CONNECT SYSTEM THAT REACHES OUT FOR HELP AUTOMATICALLY IN THE EVENT OF AN ACCIDENT WILL BE DISCONTINUED BY MOST TELEPHONE SERVICE PROVIDERS IN LATE OCTOBER 2022. AS A RESULT LEXUS WILL STOP SUPPORTING SAFETY CONNECT AND WILL NOT OFFER AN UPGRADE TO 5G SERVICE FOR A FEE. I THEREFORE HAVE A 30,000 VEHICLE THAT IS OTHERWISE PERFECT THAT I WILL HAVE TO REPLACE IF I WANT TO MAINTAIN THIS SAFETY FEATURE. I THINK NHTSA SHOULD EXTEND THE REQUIRED TIME VEHICLE MANUFACTURERS SHOULD HAVE TO MAINTAIN SAFETY FEATURES EVEN IN SITUATIONS SUCH AS THIS WHERE THE PHONE COMPANIES ARE PHASING OUT A TECHNOLOGY. A REASONABLE FEE WOULD BE ACCEPTED BY MOST CUSTOMERS.

WHILE APPLYING THE BRAKES, NEARLY 100% OF THE TIME WHEN I HIT A BUMP OF ANY SORT (SMALL, MEDIUM OR LARGE), THERE IS AN APPARENT LOSS OF BREAKING AND THE CAR ACTUALLY LUNGES FORWARD -- FEELS LIKE ACCELERATION -- AND EVEN PRESSING FIRMLY ON THE BREAK DOES NOT SLOW DOWN THE VEHICLE. THIS HAS OCCURRED ON SEVERAL (PROBABLY ABOUT 10) OCCASIONS SINCE I FIRST GOT THIS CAR. FORTUNATELY, IT HAS NEVER RESULTED IN AN ACCIDENT, BUT I HAVE COME EXTREMELY CLOSE A FEW TIMES. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE IN THIS CAR WHEN IT COMES TO BRAKING. I NEVER EXPERIENCED ANYTHING LIKE THIS ON ANY VEHICLE. ESPECIALLY WITH LEXUS.
WHILE BRAKING THERE IS A SUDDEN LOSS OF BRAKES AND SIMULTANEOUS LURCHING OR LUNGING FORWARD OF THE CAR AS IF IT IS ACCELERATING. IT HAPPENS FOR A SPLIT SECOND BUT IT IS VERY DANGEROUS SINCE SOMETHING CAN BE HIT AND/OR IT CREATES A VERY UNSETTLING AND UNPREDICTABLE REACTION FROM THE DRIVER AND PASSENGERS. IT IS VERY UNUSUAL AND I HAVE NEVER EXPERIENCED ANYTHING LIKE IT. IT HAS HAPPENED MANY TIMES OVER THE LAST TWO YEARS, THE LAST TWO TIMES IN FEB. 2012. IT HAPPENS DURING SLIPPERY CONDITIONS OR WHEN GOING OVER A BUMP. *TR
ON OR ABOUT DEC 2ND,2010 TWO PASSENGER SIDE MICHELIN TIRES FACTORY INSTALLED ON A LEXUS HS 250 H BLEW OUT AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN 110 MILES WITHOUT HITTING ANY OBJECT AT A SPEED OD 5-10 MILES /HOUR.THE BRAND :MICHELIN ENERGY MXV S8 IS NOT LISTED ON YOUR WEB SITE.MICHELIN AND LEXUS DENY DEFECTS BUT GOOGLE SITE HAS A LONG LIST OF BLOW OUT OF THIS BRAND OF MICHELIN TIRE(ENERGY MXV4 215/55/R17.MICHELIN AND LEXUS INTERFERED/REJECTED INDEPENDENT EXAMINATION OF THEIR DEFECTIVE TIRES. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 LEXUS HS250 HYBRID WITH THE ORIGINAL MICHELIN TIRES, LINE SIZE 215/55/R17. THE CONTACT WAS ENTERING A RESIDENTIAL DRIVEWAY AT MINIMAL SPEED WHEN BOTH PASSENGER SIDE TIRES BLEW. THE DEALER WAS CONTACTED WHO ADVISED THE CONTACT TO CALL THE INSURANCE COMPANY OR TRADE THE VEHICLE IN. THE MANUFACTURER OFFERED TO REPLACE THE TIRES BUT THE CONTACT DECLINED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 110.
THE CAR HAD A RECALL TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM OF BRAKE FAILURE ON UNEVEN, BUMPY PAVEMENT. HAD PROBLEM AT LEAST HALF DOZEN TIMES BEFORE THE RECALL REPAIR WAS MADE. IT DID NOT SOLVE THE PROBLEM. I HAVE HAD THE PROBLEM SEVERAL TIMES SINCE, USUALLY IN MONMOUTH COUNTY, MOST TIMES NEAR MY HOME, BUT LAST TIME IN LONG ISLAND FREEWAY. THE BRAKES DO NOT SLOW DOWN/STOP VEHICLE FOR APPROXIMATELY 1 SECOND, AND THEN START TO WORK. IT IS INTERMITTENT PROBLEM. I HAD LEXUS REP COME TO TEST MY CAR YESTERDAY, NOVEMBER 9, 2010. THEY WERE NOT ABLE TO SIMULATE PROBLEM, BUT HAVE ADVISED THEY HAVE BEEN ABLE TO SIMULATE PROBLEM ON OTHER VEHICLES OF THIS MODEL SINCE THE RECALL REPAIR. THEY ADVISED THAT EVEN IF THEY SIMULATE THE NON-BRAKING, THIS IS CONSIDERED "NORMAL" BASED ON THE LEXUS ENGINEERS. I WANT A CAR THAT BRAKES EVERY TIME. IT IS NOT SAFE VEHICLE.
