Coolant radiator failed due to what appears to be a stress fracture in the component. The fracture in the radiator allowed coolant to spray onto the operator and onto the vehicle. At the current time, the part is available for inspection. The coolant which was allowed to spray from the radiator can
... potentially burn the operator of the vehicle. The coolant which was allowed to spray from the radiator can also potentially cause the vehicle to crash if it were to spray on the tires, as the coolant is a slippery substance and can reduce or remove friction between the vehicle tires and road surface. The same issue has been observed by many other owners of the same model of vehicle, as seen in multiple reports in internet forums. In those cases, the radiators were replaced to resolve the issue. It seems the manufacturer has been made aware of this as a common safety issue with the component. My personal vehicle has not yet been inspected by a dealer / service center / manufacturer / police / insurance representatives. It will be inspected by my local dealer soon for this issue. There were no warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms prior to the failure.Read more
