The contact owns a 2017 Ram 2500. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V896000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic); however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The... contact stated that while depressing the brake pedal, the brake pedal went to the floorboard due to a lack of brake pressure. The vehicle stopped as expected; however, there was no resistance in the brake pedal. The traction control warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who confirmed that the failure was related to the recall; however, the dealer was unable to perform the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue and opened a case. The manufacturer instructed the contact to cease from driving the vehicle and to rent a vehicle until the part to do the recall repair was available. The manufacturer offered to reimburse the contact for the rental once the part became available to facilitate the recall repair. The failure mileage was approximately 130,000. AXLE IS BENT. KAUFMAN SAID IT WAS DAMAGED BUT WE BOTH HAVE PICTURES THAT DO NOT SHOW ANY DAMAGE. THE TRAILER HAS REGULAR WEAR AND TEAR BUT TIM CARTER WITH KAUFMAN IS SAYING ITS THE DAMAGE. MANY PEOPLE HAVE COMPLAINED ABOUT THE AXLE FOR THIS TRAILER AND HAVE HAD ISSSUES WITH BENT AXLES.
