AS I WAS PUSHING THE BRAKE I ALSO PUSHED THE GEAR TO THE "P" AND THE VEHICLE STOPPED ABOUT 6 FEET BEYOND THE STOPPING LINE. MY WIFE WAS SITTING NEXT TO ME AND AGAIN I APPLIED THE BRAKE AND IMMEDIATELY PUSH THE GEAR TO "P". BOTH OF INCIDENTS WERE REPORTED TO THE DEALER TO NO AVAIL. THE LAST INCIDENT HAPPENED ON JANUARY 13, 2011 AS I WAS STOPPED 5-6 FEET FROM THE CAR AHEAD OF ME IN A BUSY TRAFFIC. AGAIN ALL THE SUDDEN IT WAS A ROARING SOUND AND THE VEHICLE BEGAN THE SUDDEN ACCELERATION DESPITE MY PUSHING ON THE BRAKE. THE DISTANCE BETWEEN ME AND THE FRONT CAR WAS TOO SHORT; SO BEFORE I COULD STOPPED THE CAR, I HIT THE REAR END OF THE VEHICLE STOPPED AHEAD OF ME. MY INSURANCE PAID $725 TO FIX THE DAMAGES TO THE REAR BUMPER OF THAT CAR. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALER AGAIN AND THEY KEPT IT FOR THREE DAYS CLAIMING THAT SINCE THEY COULD NOT REPLICATE THE ACCELERATION THEY COULD NOT DO ANYTHING FOR ME. I ALSO DROVE THE CAR WITH ONE OF THE DEALERS STAFF. THE PURPOSE I GUESS WAS FOR ME TO REPLICATE THE ACCELERATION AS IF THE PREVIOUS CASES WERE DONE ON PURPOSE. THIS CAR ALSO HAD A PROBLEM WITH THE SIDE MIRRORS. THEY WOULD MOVE AS I WAS DRIVING. DRIVER'S SEAT COMPLETELY DETACHED FROM VEHICLE FRAME AND WAS LOOSE FROM SEAT FRAME BOX. 2004 JAGUAR X-TYPE. FRAME WAS REPLACED. APPEARS THAT THERE IS A SERIES PROBLEM WITH DRIVER'S SEATS ON THIS MODEL. JAGUAR HAS A HIDDEN WARRANTY ON THE FRONT SEAT OF SOME VINS IN THIS MODEL DUE TO NEED TO SHIM TRACKS. DEALER ADVISES THAT THERE IS NO RECALL ON THIS VIN FOR FRONT SEAT ISSUES. CAR HAD APPROXIMATELY 47000 MILES ON ODOMETER AT TIME OF SEAT FRAME FAILURE. OBVIOUSLY A DRIVER'S SEAT WHICH COMES LOOSE FROM ITS ATTACHMENT TO THE VEHICLE IS A SEVERE DANGER. *TR
I BOUGHT THE 2004 JAGUAR X-TYPE WITH APPROX 48,000 MILES. THE ENTIRE TIME I'VE OWNED THE CAR, THE FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG LIGHT WILL TURN ON AND OFF WHEN AN ADULT WEIGHING LESS THAN 135LBS SITS IN THE FRONT SEAT. YOU CAN MOVE AND FIGET, AND THE "AIRBAG OFF" LIFE WILL TURN OFF, ONLY TO INTERMITTENTLY TURN ON. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE, AS A LIGHTWEIGHT ADULT IN THE FRONT SEAT MAY NOT HAVE AIRBAG PROTECTION IN A CRASH. JAGUAR SAID THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE SEAT AND SENSOR, AND TO ADJUST THE SEAT DIFFERENTLY UNTIL THE "AIRBAG OFF" LIFE GOES OFF. THE POINT IS THAT THERE IS NO GUARANTEE THAT PUTTING THE SEAT IN ANY PARTICULAR POSITION WILL RESULT IN A SAFE AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT FOR A LIGHT WEIGHT ADULT. I RECENTLY PURCHASED A JAGUAR WITH FUZION HRI 225/45/17 TIRES. I NOTICED THAT ONE OF THE TIRES HAD A SIX INCH CIRCUMFERENTIAL SEPARATION AT THE LETTERING ON THE INSIDE SIDEWALL. THE TIRE STILL HAD 9/32 OF 10/32 TREADWEAR AVAILABLE. THE TIRE WAS REPLACED WITH A NEW IDENTICAL TIRE UNDER MANUFACTURES WARRANTY. I THEN NOTICED THAT THE OTHER FRONT TIRE HAD AN IDENTICAL BUT SHORTER SEPARATION ON THE INSIDE SIDEWALL. THE DEALER WAS AGAIN CONTACTED AND ADVISED OF THE DEFECT. THE DEALER REPRESENTATIVE IS CONTACTING THE MANUFACTURER OF FUZION TIRES TO CHECK FOR A DEVELOPING TREND. I MYSELF GOOGLED THE TIRE FOR OTHER REPORTED DEFECTS. I FOUND SEVERAL INCIDENTS OF UNEXPLAINED TIRE BLOWOUTS INVOLVING THE FUZION HRI THAT WERE REPORTED TO VARIOUS WEBSITES. THE FUZION TIRE IS NOT AMONG THE CHOICES ON YOUR WEBSITE DROP MENUS. *TR

I AM A PROFESSIONAL COMMERCIAL DRIVER WITH 30 YEARS EXPERIENCE WITH MANUAL TRANSMISSIONS TO KNOW THE SYMPTOMS. 2) DOWN SHIFTING AT 5 MPH, TO PREPARE FOR A TURN, LOUD GRINDING SOUND FOR 58 SECONDS AS WE HEARD A PIECE OF METAL GRINDING THROUGH THE TRANSMISSION INCLUDING THE FLY WHEEL. THEN THE TRANSMISSION WAS TOTALED. 3) TRANSMISSION WAS REPLACED AT MY EXPENSE, FOR $ 3245. I SAVED ALL OF THE BROKEN PARTS FOR INSPECTION IN MY PURSUIT OF FAIRNESS. RESEARCHED MANUAL CLUTCH FAILURES WITH OTHERS OWNING THE SAME CAR. FOUND 30 OTHERS WHO CLUTCHES FAILED BEFORE 50,000 MILES OF THEIR JAG X TYPE CAR. THIS IS NOT A FLUKE. THERE IS A SERIOUS DESIGN FAILURE AS A MECHANICAL ENGINEER WHO DESIGNED THE ENGINEERING (NOT THE COSMETIC STUFF) OF CARS. STEPPED ON BRAKE, CAR WOULD NOT STOP. FINALLY IT STOPPED AT EMBANKMENT WITH THE HELP OF A CHAMISA TREE. CAR WAS TAKEN TO ONLY JAGUAR REPAIR IN NEW MEXICO, THAT BEING MELLOY JAGUAR IN ALBUQUERQUE. IT WAS TAKEN THERE TWICE, THE ASSESSMENT NO PROBLEM WITH CAR; NO CODES COULD RELATE TO SUDDEN ACCELERATION, BLAME WAS ON ME, WITH MELLOY STATING IT COULD HAVE BEEN ME STEPPING ON GAS AND BRAKE AT SAME TIME. LAME EXCUSE, I SHOULD HAVE HAD THE CODE MACHINE ON ME; I HAVE DRIVEN FOR OVER THIRTY EIGHT YEARS AND HAVE NEVER HAD A PROBLEM WITH SUDDEN ACCELERATION. MY MOTHER WAS WITH ME WHEN THIS HAPPENED. IT WAS A MIRACLE THAT WE WERE NOT HURT. THIS CAR WAS PURCHASED IN NOVEMBER OF 2006, IT WAS A USED CAR. CAR HAD APPROXIMATELY 25,500 MILES. FROM THE TIME WE PURCHASED VEHICLE, WE HAD PUT APPROXIMATELY 11,000 MILES IN A YEAR WHEN CAR STARTED ACTING UP. THIS SUMMER, CAR, WHEN STOPPED, STARTED TO TAKE OFF ON IT'S OWN.
