Defect Description
Kaffenbarger Truck Equipment Company (Kaffenbarger) is recalling certain model year 2006-2013 International class 8 trucks equipped with Sure Power-brand DC-DC converters containing a particular epoxy sealing, aka 'potting', compound. Consequence
Once electrically conductive, the material is capable of melting and burning, increasing the risk of a fire.
Remedy
Kaffenbarger will notify owners and will replace the converters, free of charge. The recall began on February 13, 2014. Owners may contact Kaffenbarger at 1-937-845-3804.
