FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE:STORAGE:TANK ASSEMBLY:FILLER PIPE AND CAP
VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: PASSENGER VEHICLES ORIGINALLY SOLD OR CURRENTLY REGISTERED IN THE FOLLOWING STATES: CONNECTICUT, DELAWARE, ILLINOIS, INDIANA, IOWA, MAINE, MARYLAND, MASSACHUSETTS, MICHIGAN, MINNESOTA, NEW HAMPSHIRE, NEW JERSEY, NEW YORK, OHIO, PENNSYLVANIA, RHODE ISLAND, VERMONT, WEST VIRGINIA, WISCONSIN, AND THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA. CORROSION OF THE FUEL FILLER TUBE ASSEMBLY CAN OCCUR, ESPECIALLY THOSE VEHICLES OPERATED IN THE "SALT BELT," RESULTING IN FUEL LEAKAGE.
Remedy: DEALERS WILL INSPECT THE FUEL FILLER TUBE AND REPLACE THE TUBE WITH A NEW ONE. ANY OTHER COMPONENTS OF THE FUEL FILLER TUBE ASSEMBLY WHICH ARE DAMAGED OR DETERIORATED WILL ALSO BE REPLACED.

A HARNESS CONNECTOR PROTECTOR LOCATED NEAR THE SEAT BELT PRE-TENSIONER CAN IGNITE DUE TO THE PROXIMITY TO THE COMBUSTION GAS GENERATED BY THE PRE-TENSIONER WHEN THE DEVICE IS TRIGGERED.
Remedy: DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE HARNESS CONNECTOR PROTECTORS WITH ONES HAVING SUFFICIENT RESISTANCE TO THE COMBUSTION GAS OF THE PRE-TENSIONERS WHEN ACTIVATED.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 140,000.

MY DAUGHTER WAS INVOLVED IN A CAR ACCIDENT, SHE WAS ON THE FREEWAY GOING 65 MPH WHEN THE SPEED LIMIT WAS 75 MPH. SHE WAS DRIVING A 1994 INFINITI G20. THE FRONT AND BACK OF THE CAR WAS COMPLETELY RUINED, YET THE AIRBAGS NEVER DEPLOYED. I TRUST THE THAT THE CAR AR MADE FOLLOWING ALL SAFETY REGULATIONS, AND THAT THESE ARE WORKING. I DO NOT KNOW HOW THESE COULD HAVE FAILED IN THE TIME THY ARE SUPPOSED TO WORK.*AK

WE HAVE BEEN HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THIS TRANSMISSION. IT KEEPS POPING OUT OF 5TH GEAR AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. THIS IS NOT ONLY NERVE RACKING BUT DANGERIOUS. NOW THAT I AM TRYING TO SELL CAR AND DISCLOSING THIS NO ONE WANTS IT. BUT TODAY WAS A CALL FROM A BUYER WHO FIRST ASKED, " DOES THE CAR POP OUT IN 5TH GEAR" I SAID YES AND HE WENT INTO THAT THIS IS AN INHERANT PROBLEM IN THE DESIGN OF NISSON AND INFINITY MANUAL TRANSMISSIONS. WENT ON THAT THIS IS HAPPENING WIDE SPREAD RELATIVE TO THE NUMBER OF THEIR CARS WITH MANNUAL TRANSMISSION AND THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL.
