2025 INEOS GRENADIER

On the evening of October 29, 2025, my 2025 Lexus RX 450h+ suffered two complete electrical failures within a few hours. The vehicle lost all power and became totally unresponsive — no lights, sounds, or electrical function. During the first failure, both of my young children (ages [XXX] and [XXX... ] were trapped inside because the doors would not unlock or open manually from the inside or outside. The failure occurred at night, and I was stranded for nearly five hours. I repeatedly tried to reach Lexus Roadside Assistance, but the calls disconnected multiple times before I reached an agent. A tow truck was dispatched with a 90-minute ETA, but before it arrived, the vehicle suddenly restarted on its own. We finally got home close to 1:00 a.m. I am a single parent and this was a terrifying, unsafe situation that could have resulted in serious harm if my phone had died or if outside help had not stopped to assist us. The vehicle was brand new (leased April 2025) and has approximately 5,000 miles. It was taken to Serramonte Lexus for inspection, and Lexus Corporate is reviewing my request for replacement or buyback. This is an extremely dangerous defect affecting the 12-volt electrical system and electronic locking mechanisms. The vehicle doors should never be inoperable during power loss, especially when children are inside. I am filing this report so NHTSA is aware of this incident and can investigate whether similar failures are occurring in other 2025 Lexus RX 450h+ vehicles. I was driving down the road and I heard a clunk. I lost all power and coasted into a farmers field. The dash board said lost power, nothing else. I had no warning. Oil pressure was where it should be until is quit. Keller Chevrolet contacted us and told us the engine blew. The connecting rod ... broke and the piston come apart. I had service done on my truck 4 days prior. I always service my vehicle every 3,000 miles or 3 months which ever comes first. I have about 121,000 miles on my 2001 pickup. It has always been serviced at either Bob Schmidt Chevrolet or Keller Chevrolet. We are in the process of getting a new engine from GM and having it installed at Keller Chevrolet. My entire dashboard goes black and I lose all directions and functions in car. It happens when driving often. Additionally after taking to dealership, it's getting worse. Now warning lights come on and stay on such as master warning lights, batteries, power steering, etc. AC shuts off, the car misse... s out when driving between 25 and 30 mph. The sunroof exploded spontaneously while driving to a destination. When the incident happened, I was stopped at a red light. I panicked as it sounded like gunshots hitting my car. I pulled over to the nearest safest destination to inspect the car. This put the safety of myself at risk and others at ... risk who were driving along the sides and/or behind me. This incident was confirmed by a dealer, as I went to Mercedes Benz Sugar Land on the following day of the incident and was quoted around $3,700 to have it repaired. The vehicle not been inspected by police and/or insurance. There were no warning signs that this could have happened besides the fact that Mercedes Benz USA is currently under an active lawsuit for this happening to several other drivers. I do believe that this is a manufacturing defect affecting safety, as similar incidents involving Mercedes-Benz panoramic sunroofs, which may indicate a wider defect trend.Read more
