Have attempted recall repairs 2 times. Was told I needed to reschedule since parts not available. I brought my vehicle in for repair 3/30/2026 @ 8:20. After noticing my car in back parking lot that did not move from at least 8:50am to 10:10am, I asked service representative what was happening. I was told I need to bring back at a later date when seatbelt parts are in. This process would take 4 hours. I made them aware that my front passenger seatbelt comes undone often.

Repair History: •March 17, 2026: [XXX] from Pohanka Hyundai Parts Department left a voicemail stat [XXX] she “received a set (seat belt buckles) in for you today” and “um so I can only hold them for a little while if you could reach back out to me”. I called her right back to let her know I would be in either on Thursday or Friday afternoon. •March 20, 2026: Vehicle brought to Pohanka Hyundai of [XXX] for Recall of seat belt buckle assembly at 13:53. I then let the service writer know and he said “what do you mean?” I then explained to him that they were the old because they were dirty, with dust and dirt in the “PRESS” release button. Last year while traveling on vacation, my family was on the interstate crusing at approximately 70 MPH when the Hyundai Palisade suddenly started shaking and slowing down. It was shaking so bad, I ended up having to turn on my flashers because the vehicle would not accelerate up hill while pressing on the gas pedal. Thankfully, I was able to exit the highway and located a Hyundai dealership about 15 miles away in Jasper, AL. The dealership service department was very nice and indicated my engine oil was low. I could not figure out why this happened because we have always changed the oil at recommended intervals but once the dealership changed the oil, the check engine light turned off and we were able to proceed on our trip. Last night, we were traveling from [XXX] international airport back to [XXX] and the same pattern started all over again. After conducting some internet research based on the 2020 Palisade SEL, it appears this is a common issue for vehicles just under 100k miles. The reason I am reporting this is because Hyundai Corporate should do the right thing in this situation, by offering to replace the engine since I am within the 100k mile powertrain warranty period. I plan to take the vehicle to my local dealership today becuase there are two outstanding recalls, one of which is considered more serious due to a seatbelt latch. We waited over a month to schedule this service and the local dealership cancelled our appointment and didnt even offer to contact us to tell us this. The seatbelt issue is still not resolved and now we need Hyundai to perform oil consumption testing because the vehicle should not be burning this amount of oil while driving at speeds over 55MPH or over. This level of oil consumption presents a serious safety concern. Driving with critically low oil can cause sudden engine failure, stalling, or loss of power while traveling at highway speeds. This could create a crash hazard without warning. I am filing a formal safety complaint regarding my 2020 Hyundai Palisade due to severe and ongoing engine oil consumption that presents a safety risk, combined with an active federal airbag safety recall. For approximately one year, my vehicle has been consuming excessive engine oil. Approximately 1,500–2,000 miles after an oil change, the vehicle becomes dangerously low on oil. On January 19, 2026, at 171,650 miles, the dealership initiated Hyundai’s official oil consumption test. At intake, the engine oil level was so low that nothing was visible on the dipstick. The dealership confirmed no external oil leaks were present and began the manufacturer’s oil consumption protocol. After driving approximately 1,000 miles, I returned on February 2, 2026, at 172,657 miles. The inspection showed the engine was 2.6 quarts low. The dealership stated combustion chamber cleaning was needed; however, Hyundai denied the repair based solely on mileage and the vehicle being out of warranty. This level of oil consumption presents a serious safety concern. Driving with critically low oil can cause sudden engine failure, stalling, or loss of power while traveling at highway speeds. This could create a crash hazard without warning. The system does not alert me if someone is sitting in 3rd row without seatbelt. No one has been injured, but i noticed it in January 2026. Not sure how long it has been happening.
Since about 90,000 miles I have noticed a shudder from my transmission. It has progressed and having transmission issues. I have had regular maintenance done on my car and have even replaced the transmission fluid twice and the shudder is continuing to happen. I have looked at forums and all the things and seems to be a common theme amongst their transmission style.
1. What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? "The tempered glass panel of the panoramic sunroof spontaneously shattered while the vehicle was in motion. The glass exploded outward with a loud report similar to a gunshot. Yes, the vehicle and the remaining glass fragments are available for inspection upon request 2. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? The sudden, explosive noise caused an immediate distraction and startle response while traveling at highway speeds (approx. 70 mph), creating a high risk of a collision. Furthermore, glass shards fell into the cabin onto the driver and passengers, posing a risk of lacerations and eye injuries. Shards also blew out onto the interstate, creating a road hazard for following vehicles. 3. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Not yet. The vehicle is currently being scheduled for inspection 4. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? "No warning lamps or messages appeared. There were no prior symptoms of glass stress, such as cracking or creaking. The failure was instantaneous and spontaneous with no prior indication of a defect."

Vehicle is consuming or burning oil at a high rate. While dealer has done an oil consumption test and claimed it was "within tolerance," I have on multiple occasions had the car start to shudder at 2,000 miles since last oil change only to find the oil wasn't even on the stick anymore. The symptoms go away when adding oil, on some occasions more than 4 quarts of oil need to be added to get the oil to "full" on the dip stick. Multiple independent service centers have noted how dirty the oil is and how little is drained on oil change. No warning lights have come on at any time, even when car is making grinding noises and shuddering with no oil. This causes a safety issue as drivers reasonably expect to go at least 3,000 miles between oil changes and the engine could seize in traffic. Owners are being tacitly asked to add oil regularly to keep the engine functioning properly.

Burns oil and I have to change it every 3K-5K miles. I add oil throughout to keep it topped off, but by around 5K miles it’s nearly black. It would be completely dry by 10K miles. Yesterday I noticed an oil drip from what I assume is a faulty gasket, which is new.

On December, 2025 I received notification from Hyundai de Puerto Rico (Sojitz de Puerto Rico Corporation) informing about the Hyundai Recall Number 283 (NHTSA Recall Number 25V-607) regarding the seat belt buckle assemblies problem (See attached notification document). On January 27, 2026 I took my Hyundai Palisade 2020 to the programed appointment at Hyundai de Cupey, Ave. Ponce de León, #1385, San Juan, PR 00926 for the inspection and replacements of my seat belts buckle assemblies. For my surprise, the service advisor Ms. Adleni Vazquez informed me that there was no such recall and that they were proceeding with an extended warranty on the vehicle seat belt assembly system. She also told me that they would only act during that warranty extension period if I could prove a malfunction of the seat belt buckle assemblies. I showed the safety recall notification letter and the action required to the service advisor, but still they denied the inspection of seat belt buckle assemblies. The advisor showed me the Hyundai de Puerto Rico instruction regarding the matter which is only to provide an extended warranty. (See attached document). My vehicle was just serviced for an ECU upgrade of the emission system which I was told was the only recall pending (See attached Service job document). Do I or my passengers need to be involved in an accident and suffer injuries or even death because my vehicle was one with the faulty buckle assemblies before I can make a claim and be provided with the needed service and remedy? I think this “extended warranty” argument used in Puerto Rico for recall 283 is a dangerous excuse for not providing the service required. Please, investigate this important safety issue and Hyundai de Puerto Rico’s noncompliance. Once again, this is a serious issue that requires a prompt remedy. Due to is physical nature, it cannot be remedied merely with an “extended warranty”. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
The vehicle continues to feel very bumpy when we drive. Even if I stand in the 2nd row and press up and down, it makes a squeaky, sometimes loud rattling / knocking sound. I have taken this to the dealer multiple times and they tired to tighten shock absorbers and the padding around it but the problem hasn't gone. They ask me to leave the car with them without getting a loaner which is hard to do as we need the car. They have made it hard to get the problem solved, not taking ownership and have denied any issue with the suspension despite multiple complaints by consumers in online forums and what i have personally experienced.
I purchased a new 2020 Hyundai Palisade SEL. When I only had 47,683 miles I had my rear shocks replaced for the third time. Poor handling, and noise when the shocks fail. The shocks needing replaced was confirmed by the dealer service department. No warning lamps or messages were displayed.
2020 Hyundai Palisade bought new with extended warranty that was supposed to "cover everything". The plastic items on the vehicle started failing with sun damage & the paint on the lift gate & roof started failing in 2023. The plastic items failing are the both driver/passenger rear view mirrors, the rear lift gate spoiler that houses one of the brake lights, the black trim on each side of the spoiler, the paint on the rear lift gate & paint on the roof including around the moon roofs. I brought it to the attention of the dealership I go to each time I brought it in for service or other warranty issues. I feel like I was blown off & not taken seriously. When they finally found & pull up my extended warranty to look at what it covered & inspected the sun damage/defect On June 27, 2025 they told me the manufacturer's warranty expired & it was not covered under my extended warranty. I voiced my frustration, saying they knew about this issue for about a year & when it possibly could have been under the warranty but not it is not. I asked how I can escalate this & they gave my the consumer affairs phone # for Hyundai. I contacted them, case#[XXX], and at their request I went to a dealership for them to inspect the damage/defect. I was later told the same thing, it is out of warranty. After researching my issue, I have discovered this vehicle has a recall for this exact issue, but for different paint colors. Just not my SUVs color blue. Seeing how this damage happened in such a short period of time & the amount of damage/defect is not normal given that timeframe, I am worried about it getting worst quickly. This could affect the function of the brake light & rear view mirrors thus affecting my safety, the function of the vehicle, & it's value. Dear NHTSA, I'm reporting a serious safety issue with my 2020 Hyundai Palisade (3.8L V6) involving excessive oil consumption without low-oil warning lights. Timeline: Oil changed: August 13, 2025 → Engine stalling/rough idle → Checked Oct 27, 2025: completely out of oil Oil changed again: October 27, 2025 → Same symptoms recur → January 16, 2026: completely out of oil again Usage: ~300 miles/week (1,200 miles/4 months) using full synthetic 5W-30—far below Hyundai's 7,500-10,000 mile interval. Safety Risk: No low oil warning despite total depletion x2, risking catastrophic engine failure while driving. Known Lambda II V6 issue per TSB 20-01-0001. It’s completely ran out of oil and been to the shop 3x so far in a years time. Add oil to it every 2-3 weeks at this point ,It’s not leaking oil it’s definitely burning it. Once the dealership even had to come tow it to the shop the car shut off in the middle of the road and then again in the driveway as my wife was trying to turn into the driveway she lost all power and steering she ended up in the middle of the front yard, thank god she was just getting home at the time of the incident. I’ve heard of the same engine giving problems and having an open recall for similar issues pertaining to a bearing and or rings being damaged or broken allowing for the oil to be dripping or being burnt. The vehicle is a family vehicle and gets driven daily by my wife to and from the kids school and the grocery store it’s not driven hard or for very long periods of time. I would like to know if there’s anything that could be done about this issue. I’ve looked to see if the recall was open for this model palisade but it only shows for the Santife models even though it’s the same engine. The shop and dealers always tell me it’s nothing and just keep up with oil changes but that’s near impossible when it runs out of oil before the next oil change is due.

Told the plastic piece to oil housing assembly cracked and had 9 other palisades in for same exact issue. No warning lamps. Cost $519 to replace part.
Check engine light came on and stayed on. When using heat for car it was not heating up well or to temp. Got in to be serviced 12/16/25-12/18/25. Replaced a plastic part in engine and said engine was not heating up like it should. Cost $814. Reset check engine light. On 1/2/26 reversed car out of driveway into street and car came to abrupt stop and would not shift into any other gears. Another vehicle was coming up the street and almost collided with us and I could not get my vehicle to move which was blocking the road. Warning message said “Shifter System Malfunction: Service Immediately.” Pushed power button to turn off vehicle. Turned back on and able to get into drive to park back in driveway. Definitely having electrical issues and multiple problems with car since October 2025 when weather became colder for winter.
