On March 13, 2026, Friday, at about 3:00 pm, was driving XXX on US XXX toward the XXX stop and go traffic backup for several miles. Sun was behind direction of traffic flow. Temperature was low-mid 50s and road was dry and no rain or snow. Winds were 10-15 mph with gusts to 25 mph. Road was 3 la
... nes in the east direction with one lane closed. Attempting to keep about a 3 foot distance from car in front. My was is a Kia 2025 Sorento PHEV model purchased in July 2024 and has had regular servicing. I was keeping a firm pressure on brake pedal to not allow car to roll into the car in front. Suddenly, the car surged forward into the other car. Keep both feet on the brake pedal to attempt to stop the car. Hit the other car and pushed it forward a foot or 2. The advertized FCA feature of the car appeared to have failed. It has stopped me in one prior situation. Damage to my Sorento is still be to determined. The car in front appears to have a body panel crease in the back tailgate. The damage appears to be at knee height. The car will be check out by KIA servicing this week (March 23rd, 2026). The car has several other quirks, but this is the most scary. Mileage is 9800. Most of my driving is main roadways = city streets, US and Interstates. No recalls seem to address this situation. However, may other quirks are also not addressed. Report was filled with Maryland State Police.Read more

Beginning at approximately 750 miles on a brand-new 2025 Kia Sorento Hybrid EX, the vehicle experienced a flashing Check Engine Light accompanied by severe shaking while driving, rough idling, loss of power, and loud engine/exhaust noise. The vehicle became difficult and unsafe to operate due to the
... vibration and reduced drivability. These symptoms appeared suddenly on November 22, less than three weeks after purchase. The vehicle was taken to the dealership on November 24. Their technician retrieved diagnostic codes P0300 (Random Misfire) and P0304 (Cylinder #4 Misfire) and identified a failed ignition coil on Cylinder #4. The coil was replaced, and the dealership reported the issue resolved. However, less than 24 hours later, with the vehicle still under 800 miles, the exact same symptoms reoccurred: heavy shaking while driving, vibration while idling, loss of power, and unstable engine operation. This indicates the underlying issue may be more serious than a single coil failure. The problem has been reproduced and confirmed by the dealership, and the vehicle is currently back in their possession for further inspection. A loaner vehicle was issued because the vehicle was not safe to drive. The sudden shaking, engine misfire, and loss of power created a significant safety risk, especially if this failure were to occur at highway speeds or while turning across traffic. Given the extremely low mileage and recurrence immediately after repair, this may indicate a broader defect affecting engine performance or ignition components in this model. The vehicle remains available for inspection by NHTSA, the manufacturer, or investigators.Read more

Hyundai Motor Corporation's recall # 251, addresses the Anti-Lock Brake (ABS) system module in the 2014 Hyundai Elantra models. According to the recall, these models have the potential and propensity to leak brake fluid from the ABS module, causing an electrical short, which can cause a fire within
... the engine compartment. The same can happen, according to Hyundai, even if the car is not in motion and parked. Hyundai, according to its recall instructions, "strongly advised, due to 'FIRE' risk, to park your vehicle outside and away from structures."? (My car is garage-kept). Because of the brake fluid leak and the subsequent fire, the brakes themselves have also been known to fail. Now, Hyundai states that the issue is fixed by replacing the ABS fuse. These actions and statements have raised some concerns. If the ABS fuse were bad and needed replacement, it would send a code to the ECM (Electronic Control Module), thus illuminating the check engine light. The code would then translate to an ABS failure somewhere in the braking system. No codes were found regarding the ABS or any other system; the Technician looked ( repair summary available), either current or stored in my car's ECM. In addition, the check engine light wasn't on. So, Hyundai replaced a good fuse with another good fuse. Sounds redundant and somewhat fruitless, as fuses have nothing to do with fixing leaks. For example, if the radiator was suspected of leaking antifreeze, would you replace a fuse, thinking that would prevent the radiator from leaking? If the engine was suspected of leaking oil from the oil pan, would you replace a fuse to prevent the oil from leaking? No!!. So than why does Hyundai think that replacing the ABS fuse would prevent or even stop the ABS module from leaking brake fluid, and thus causing a fire inside the engine compartment? The reason is the dollars that make no sense. Hyundai places profits over human lives because it knows the real solution would to be to replace theRead more

I was driving to work via the [XXX] in California when at approximately 6:40am I felt a jerking motion in my 2022 Lincoln Corsair Grand Touring (PHEv) and then immediately began receiving various warning lights and chimes indicating an issue. The vehicle was losing power and I was safely able to exi
... t the freeway and pull to the side of the road. There were numerous warning indicators activated, including Service Engine Soon, Hill Start Assist failure, Pre-Collision Assist failure, EV Battery not available, and others. I exited the vehicle to ensure that there was not any visible physical damage, and did not find anything. I checked the Owners Manual for the warnings and it indicated that if the vehicle was able to be driven, it could but with caution. I proceeded to drive to work, approximately 4.7 miles away. The vehicle could not be driven over 35 MPH without violently shaking, along with a mechanical grinding noise. Drive Control was also not active and the vehicle felt like it had no suspension. Estimated repair time was approximately 1 week per the Lincoln Concierge (LC), and no root problem had been identified at the time. On Monday, 10/28 I followed up via text to the LC for an update and was informed that they checked with the Transmission technician and they had started to “tear down the transmission to find the fault.” On 10/30, I asked for another update and to inform the LC that I had a preplanned vacation to Big Bear, CA on 11/7/24 and hoped to have it back before then. On 10/31, the LC informed me that the Tech had “ordered a new transmission today and should be here by Tuesday [11/5/24].” On 11/5, I followed up via text to the LC and was informed that the new arrival date for the transmission would be 11/6 or 11/7. Because I did not have my Corsair and wanted to be cautious of the miles on the loaner, we took an alternate vehicle for the road trip. See PDF attached for additional details. Also, my car is not drive-able until this is fixed and it is through no fault of my own (or anyone else’s beyond the manufacturer). I thought--one time incident, bad luck. The dealership refused to take photos of the chewed wires, but I was able to fight to receive some parts indicating the damage (who knows if it was actually mine or some they kept off of some other Honda--see attached photo). Not even 24 hours after having my car repaired to normal, I turn on the car in the morning and the same issues came up. I towed it again! The dealership claimed the rodent chewed my car in the same spot, at the same area. Charged me an additional $224.00 to solder it back citing that they never seen this happen before. I find it convenient that no other vehicles on this street had issues with rodent damage. And the same area was bitten twice. I ended up having to pay out of pocket instead of using my $500 insurance to cover the damages. (Insurance said it would likely raise my rates next if I continuously put a claim). Why would Honda create such an easily accessible route for rodents or a non-covered protected wire? As a consumer, I end up fronting the bill because neither the manufacturer nor the dealership, nor the insurance company (who would likely end up raising my rates) have to deal with a terrible design. Never had issues with other brands nor other older vehicles had this issue in the cul-de-sac. Dealership ended up having wrapping the harness, but this car is NEW & should have been protected and repaired by Honda to begin with. Online search revealed Honda used SOY BASED insulation which attracts rodents. Very unsatisfied with Honda.Read more

I was driving 45 mph on a straight 4 lane undivided road with no cars in front of me or in the oncoming lanes. I was maintaining speed and the vehicle engaged the emergency braking system. The visual and audible alerts went off and with extreme braking force slowed the vehicle down to 10 mph with no

The trailing vehicles, at highway speed, had to swerve into oncoming traffic to avoid rear ending me and I was unable to override the system to maintain speed. I was driving down the freeway, around 4pm there wasn't much traffic and the nearest vehicle in front of me was abour 100 meters ahead of me when my 2022 Honda Insight activated the automatic emergency brakes and slowed down for about a second before dis-activating them. It had problems with this car in the first 500 miles on Oct 31st 2021 while driving on Long Island Expressway in Nassau County, NY. I have proof. I took pictures of the dashboard while getting lots of error codes while driving and only had 500 miles on the car. I experience loss of power, loss of s
... teering and brake failure while driving on the Long Island Expressway. I was lucky to be near an exit and I let the car roll away through the exit and I was able to pull over to the side of the service road of LIE. After an hour the car started. I didn't know then, but this car has had chewed up wires ever since I picked it up from the dealership in Pennsylvania( Honda Vinart of Emmaus, PA ). I observed exposed wires when I changed oil for the first time in December 2021. At that time, I thought it is a hybrid thing and didn't think much about it. I was driving with exposed wires this entire time! I could had had the brakes lock up or lose complete power while driving on the highway and cause a major accident. You can try to deflect he blame away from Honda manufacturer, but we all know it is your fault. On March 4th 2022, the Honda Insight barely started , engine knocking and sputtering. I towed it to the Staten Island Honda service (which estimated the damage at $7000 , but the warranty doesn't cover ) and they told me that a rodent finished the job Sunday night. The soy based harness on my 2022 Honda Insight attracts rodents. Why didn't the rodents attack my wife car that is parked right next to mine in the same driveway? I never had this type of problem with the other cars I owned in the past. I had owned dozens of cars and left them months parked in my driveway and they never attracted any rodents. This is a warranty issue and a safety issue . I could have been killed while driving with exposed wires. How do I even know, that other wires are also chewed? Can I trust this car to be reliable anymore? A $30,000 car that can be my death trap.Read more
