STEERING: STEERING WHEEL/HANDLE BAR
Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2023-2025 CMX300, CMX500, and CL500 motorcycles. The handlebar lock screw may loosen and detach.
Remedy: Dealers will replace the lock screw and apply thread lock, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed May 8, 2026. Owners may contact Honda's customer service at 1-866-784-1870. Honda's number for this recall is KUO. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall will be searchable on NHTSA.gov beginning March 21, 2026.

SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC Jul 12, 2024
The contact owns a 2023 Honda CMX500 Motorcycle. The contact stated that while riding at an undisclosed speed, the rear brake pedal was depressed, but the rear brakes failed to engage to stop the motorcycle. The contact regained control of the motorcycle and rode to the dealer; however, the cause of the failure could not be determined. The dealer replaced the ABS and calipers, but the failure recurred. The motorcycle was not repaired and remained at the dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 400.
