2024 EAST TO WEST ALTA

I was merging onto the highway and the acceleration stopped working and the vehicle would not go more than 25 mph. Had to restart car in shoulder, isue seemed to self correct but then it happened 10 minutes later stranding me in between the highway and exit ramp. This was a huge safety issue and m... yself and others lives were at risk. I am bringing the vehicle in for inspection but this seems to be a recurring hyundai issue. There were no warnings that came on. The auto mode on the dash went from green to an amber color. When i restarted the vehicle nothing changed. I backed out of my drive way and then proceeded to the stop sign at the end of my street which is three houses from mine. Turned left off of [XXX] onto [XXX] I started to accelerate to speed limit which is 25. I then looked at speedometer it stated I was going 15 mph then all of a sudden my truck ... accelerated to almost 69 mph then my truck slammed in the brakes. My foot was still on the gas petal and I never felt the gas petal push down when it accelerated. No my cruise control was not activated and no lights came on to indicate what it was doing or that there was anything wrong. Steve’s Hometown Toyota could not find anything wrong with the truck, but then again I don’t trust them I gave them a month to get the guy to fix it and the part and the loaner to fix the canister on my Highlander but when my appointment came up the guy couldn’t stay the full 5 hours to fix my car and they did not have a loaner and did not have the part. That is how I got into the 2023Toyota Tundra. Then it develops a brain that it wants to go faster then slammed on the breaks. That truck hurt me and gave me whiplash. They want me to pick it up. I am not driving it. I am lucky no one was in the truck and on the road the time the incident happened. I have made a report to Toyota and let them know that I have doctors notes and my daughter was on the phone with me through the truck not on my phone. I am afraid that they are going to put me back into the same truck that hurt me. Know I find out that the 2023 trucks have a recall on them. They still don’t have an answer for me. What if they put me in another Toyota truck what if they have the same problems. I used to have faith in Toyotas but now I don’t. It hurt me and I am still having issues from that stupid truck. While travelling on an interstate freeway, towing our 40 foot 5th wheel RV at 63 mph, our trailer lost its front drivers' side wheel & tire. Upon realizing something was wrong and stopping to investigate, I recognized the wheel spindle had separated from the axle at the welding point, which allowed ... the wheel, bearings, disc brake assembly and tire to separate from the axle. The wheel, tire & all other parts were not found. An incident report was filed with the state police, who responded and assisted in attempting to locate the lost wheel & tire with negative results. Pictures of the axle, which remained attached to the leaf springs, were taken. The pictures clearly show evidence of rust approximately half way around the axle where the welding of axle to the spindle failed, as evidenced by brighter, fused, metal that was holding the spindle until the break and separation. Our safety was put at risk due to the immediate loss of the trailer's brakes due to the fluid loss from the brake lines being torn apart as a result of the loss of the left, front brake assembly, wheel & tire. In addition, the loss of the weight-bearing tire placed the trailer in an unstable condition for maneuvering at freeway speeds. The other major safety concern was the other motorists traveling nearby could have hit or been hit by the wheel and tire while traveling at speed on a freeway. We were able to get our trailer to a nearby trailer repair facility that confirmed our damage and the potential safety risk to other motorists. While an incident report was filed with the state police, there was no inspection of our trailer by the police, trailer manufacturer or insurance other than by photos. Prior to our traveling on this trip, I did have our trailer's suspension inspected by an RV repair & service provider, however, they had no reason to inspect the spindle/axle welds.
