SUSPENSION:REAR:SHOCK ABSORBER
Ducati North America (Ducati) is recalling certain model year 2014 1199 Panigale S version, 1199 Superleggera and 1199 Panigale R version motorcycles. The affected motorcycles may have been built with an improperly manufactured rear shock absorber. The nut on the damper rod for these shock absorbers may loosen, resulting in a loss of damping and the possible disassembling of the shock.
Remedy: Ducati will notify owners, and dealers will either replace the rear shock assembly or send the shock to the supplier's repair center to be remedied, free of charge. The recall began on June 29, 2015. Owners may contact Ducati customer service at 1-800-231-6696. Ducati's number for this recall is RCL-15-002.

I LOOKED ONLINE AND FOUND MANY OTHER OWNERS HAVE THE SAME ISSUE AND IT'S A COMMON ISSUE DUCATI OWNERS HAVE HAD NO HELP WITH FROM SAFETY COMPANIES OR DEALERSHIPS. I WAS APPLYING THROTTLE TO PASS A VEHICLE ON A RIGHT HAND TURN AND RESUME MY LANE POSITION AT APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH WHEN THE ENGINE AND MOTORCYCLE SHUT DOWN. I HAD TO SUDDENLY CORRECT MY BODY POSITION AND BRING THE MOTORCYCLE UPRIGHT WHICH COULD HAVE RESULTED IN CROSSING THE CENTER LINE. EMERGENCY MANEUVER TO THE SHOULDER OF THE ROADWAY WHICH COULD HAVE RESULTED IN BEING STRUCK FROM THE REAR BY A CAR SINCE THERE WAS NO ELECTRICAL POWER AND LIMITED BRAKING ABILITY. INSPECTION ON THE ROADWAY SHOWED A WARNING SIGNAL ON THE DASH WHICH WAS A RED WITH EXCLAMATION POINT ! (ABS!). THE BIKE WOULD NOT START. HAD TO HAVE THE VEHICLE TOWED. AFTER DIAGNOSIS AND THE MECHANIC AT THE DUCATI SHOP SAID IT WAS THE CANBUS FUSE WHICH WAS BLOWN. NO OTHER INFORMATION PROVIDED. DON'T KNOW IF I CAN TRUST THIS MOTORCYCLE ON THE ROAD FURTHER.
