SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC:BRAKE FLUID LOW WARNING:SWITCH/SENSOR/FLOAT
General Motors (GM) is recalling certain 2019-2024 Chevrolet Silverado Medium Duty 4500HD, 5500HD, and 6500HD vehicles. The brake pressure sensor assembly may leak brake fluid into the brake pressure switch and cause a short circuit.
Remedy: Owners are advised to park outside and away from structures until the recall repair is complete. Dealers will replace the brake pressure switch wire harness, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed September 11, 2025. Owners may contact GM customer assistance number at 1-866-467-9700. GM's number for this recall is N242482680. Vehicles in this recall that were previously repaired under 23V266 will need to have the new remedy completed.

The contact owns a 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 6500. The contact stated that a month after the vehicle was repaired under NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V390000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic); the contact became aware that the brake motor was constantly engaged. The contact stated that upon disconnecting the brake pressure switch, it was discovered that the brake switch connector was covered with brake fluid. The dealer was notified of the failure and informed the contact the recall remedy only involved the replacement of the brake pressure switch wiring harness, and the brake switch replacement was not covered. The contact was referred to the manufacturer for assistance. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and a case was filed. The contact was referred to the dealer for additional assistance. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was confirmed that the brake switch replacement was not covered by the recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was called back and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The contact stated that the recall remedy had fail to correct the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 46,000.
