POWER TRAIN:MANUAL TRANSMISSION:INTERNAL:SHAFT:OUTPUT
Bombardier Recreational Products (BRP) is recalling certain 2017-2019 Can-Am Spyder F3 and RT motorcycles. The engine output shaft may fatigue and break, resulting in a loss of drive power.
Remedy: The output shaft will be replaced based on the mileage of the vehicles. Owner notification letters were mailed February 5, 2025. Owners may contact BRP customer service at 1-888-272-9222.

POWER TRAIN:MANUAL TRANSMISSION
Bombardier Recreational Products, Inc. (BRP) is recalling certain 2015-2019 Can-Am Spyder F3 and RT motorcycles. The front sprocket may be defective and prematurely wear, resulting in a loss of drive power.
Remedy: Dealers will perform an interim repair until parts become available. Once parts are available, the front sprocket will be replaced, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed May 26, 2022. Owners may contact BRP customer service at 1-888-272-9222.

Front sprocket recall. Original defective sprocket failed at 20,000 miles. The recall replacement sprocket designed to fix the problem Failed at 12,000 miles. BRP Canam Refused to replace failed recall replacement sprocket under that recall And will not provide extended warranty for future pocket failures.

The contact owns a 2019 Can-Am Spyder F3. The contact stated received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V352000 (Power Train) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that he had called two dealers who stated that parts were not yet available. The vehicle was taken to Daytona Fun Machines Honda Service (450 Ridgewood Ave, Daytona Beach, FL 32117) who stated that the vehicle was safe to drive until the parts became available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The contact has not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.

POWER TRAIN Jun 30, 2022
Front belt sprocket internal gears were ground away. It didn't allow the engine sprocket to turn the pulley that drives the belt powering the rear tire. Resulted in a loss of propulsion while traveling at 55 MPH making riding to a safe location difficult, had to coast off the roadway. The attached photo is after the sprocket was removed from the bike. The pieces broken along the outside are from a gear puller during removal. The sprocket would only free spin making removal extremely difficult.
