The contact owns a 2021 Cadillac XT6. The contact stated that while reversing, the rear-view camera intermittently displayed a blank image. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who was unable to duplicate the failure and informed the contact that the contact had to pay for the rear-view camera software update. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer informed the contact that the vehicle was previously repaired under NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V709000 (Back Over Prevention). The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 33,000.
Cadillac XT6 – VIN: [XXX] echanical Failures, Ignored Transmission Recall(s), and Dealer Negligence I write this letter to formally place General Motors Company on notice of a pattern of serious mechanical failures, ignored safety recalls, and dealership indifference involving my Cadillac XT6, referenced above. This vehicle has been presented to Sam Leman Cadillac of Champaign on multiple occasions for mechanical issues, including—but not limited to—cooling system failures, thermostat defects, persistent check-engine warnings, and abnormal vehicle operation. Service records confirm repeated interventions, temporary fixes, and diagnostic acknowledgments without meaningful long-term resolution. More alarming, however, is the dealership’s failure to appropriately address and disclose known transmission recalls and other safety recalls applicable to this vehicle. Despite GM’s documented awareness of widespread transmission issues affecting similarly situated vehicles, the dealership elected to either minimize, ignore, or defer corrective action—placing convenience and cost avoidance above consumer safety. This conduct raises serious concerns, including: •Failure to act on known manufacturer defects •Failure to honor GM’s recall and safety obligations •Repeated return of a vehicle to service despite unresolved defects •A pattern of repairs that suggests systemic failure, not isolated incidents •Improper shifting of financial responsibility to the consumer for manufacturer-caused defects Consumers do not purchase Cadillac vehicles with the expectation of serving as unpaid beta testers for unresolved engineering flaws. Nor should they be forced to navigate a maze of denials and deflections when defects arise that GM already knows exist. This is not a maintenance issue—it is a manufacturer and dealer accountability issue. The contact owns a 2021 Cadillac XT6. The contact stated that while sitting inside the vehicle, the vehicle felt unbalanced. Upon inspection, the contact noticed that the H-pipe was leaning more to the right side. The H-pipe was not centered as intended. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer or an independent mechanic. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that in the past, while the vehicle was serviced, no one had noticed that the H-pipe was off-center. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 37,000.
The vehicle was previously recalled for an intermittent backup camera failure. Prior to me purchasing the vehicle, the recall was completed and documented as repaired. I went in to the Myrtle Beach Cadillac dealership for reoccurring issues with the camera failing exactly as disclosed in the recall. It will randomly cut to a black screen with a camera icon crossed out in red. It is a true safety issue that leaves my family as risk of a collision or injuring someone else.It cannot be recreated on request as it is happening intermittently. The dealership refused to inspect the safety recall repair for proper operation and only stated that the recall repair was completed.
[XXX] My 2021 XT6 occasionally stumbles when accelerating from a stop, both when the engine is running or when it has auto stopped, only occasionally. If the car won't accelerate properly, it can cause a collision, especially if making a left hand turn at an intersection. It started happening about June 2025 and kept reoccurring more frequently as time passed. It was brought to a dealer early August, they said that it might be a bad battery, I installed a new battery on August 19, 2025, it was ok until late November 2025, then it started happening again. Yes, it can be inspected upon request. There were no warning lamps or messages, symptoms or problems prior to the failure. This has been happening about 6 months now. The contact owns a 2021 Cadillac XT6. The contact stated while in reverse, the back-over prevention camera image failed to display as intended on the screen. No warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that the message "Park Assist Block" was displayed on the instrument panel. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed with a camera sensor failure. The vehicle was not repaired. Upon further investigation, the contact related the failure to an unidentified recall related to the failure; however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 30,000.
1)The display on dash reads upon start up, “Steering Assist Reduced”. 2)There is no Engine temperature readout displayed on cluster. 3)When the vehicle is turned off, the coolant fan stays running for a few minutes at full speed. All of these issues are correlated. Also, many XT5’s & XT6’s have had this issue in the past.

Car started and ran at idle for 5 minutes. 10 minutes later when attempting to restart, the engine churned for several seconds then ran for about 2 seconds and cut out. "Press to Start" button remained showing green and would not respond to being pressed. The car was stationary in my garage; this would have been extremely dangerous if it happened on the highway. It seems to be a complete failure of the fuel system on a 2021 model with under 27,000 miles

The vehicle's check engine light came on late afternoon and then started with a delayed turn over, but not actually starting thr following day. The vehicle had to be towed to the dealership. The technician and service advisor commented immediately that it is likely the fuel pump control module. With the commentary about the likely cause was that this is a widespread issue among GM vehicles. Thankfully, the vehicle was at home when it stopped starting but the transition from check engine to stopping operation was almost immediate.

In April 2023 I was backing out of a parking space when a message displayed on the dash that “The Parking Assist Have Been Blocked, See Owner’s Manual “. In this event there were pedestrians walking behind my vehicle and if not for my cautions always while backing could have caused an accident. This has since been intermittently happening and I have taken it in to the dealer 2 times without repair.
The problem is the fuel pump control module is faulty and broke twice now. The car was purchased in 2021, new. Within months the fuel pump control module failed while I was driving in traffic, in an elementary school zone with children all around. I tried to drive through an intersection when without warning the car abruptly stopped causing the cars behind me to swerve to avoid a collision. Good samaritans had to push it far out of the way due to the children crossing. I was told by Sawgrass Cadillac that it was the fuel pump control module that has a short starving the car for fuel without warning because it is an electrical issue. It was fixed, until July 4, 2023 when again while in traffic the engine light came on, the car shuddered and then abruptly stopped. Cars around me swerved, nearly colliding into me with my daughter in the car. Sawgrass Cadillac again said it is the fuel pump control module that they are looking to replace it again. This is a design failure, one that is well known and documented all over the internet. This design needs to be recalled before someone is killed because if I had made it to the highway and this happened who knows what could have happened. I will not drive the car, it is a life safety issue that is cannot be repaired away, it needs to be completely redesigned. The dealer is aware, but you can contact them for further information. The dealer is Sawgrass Cadillac in Sunrise Florida, Ed Morse.
I was driving about 25mph all of the sudden the car automatic applied the brakes.
The contact owns a 2021 Cadillac XT6.The contact stated that while reversing, the rear-view camera displayed his vehicle instead of other vehicles nearby. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V709000 (Back Over Prevention) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The local dealer was contacted. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was approximately 7,000. Parts distribution disconnect.
The Sunroof popped and shattered. I was on the highway with very light traffic - cars were at least 200 feet apart - when I heard a loud boom and then felt and saw the sunroof cover start vibrating. It was not the small smack of a rock - it was a loud pop and I wondered if my muffler had just fallen off the car. But when the sunroof started vibrating I knew that my sunroof was gone. I had not opened the sunroof that day, which is rare for me since I like to have the sun shining through, therefore, no glass fell into the car. Since there was no one behind me I do not think glass flew into traffic behind me. It was a normal, hot September day in Texas, nothing abnormally hot or cold. I have not changed or altered any stereo or other equipment in the vehicle.
Front brake vibration, alarming grinding/rubbing/screeching sound each and every time service brakes are applied. Dealer claims this is a known GM problem with no fix available. I have purchased two Cadillacs Xt6 and Xt5 May 2021. Both vehicles have the same problem. Wife will not drive the new Cadillac. Service bulletin published sbout this same problem, December 2020. Still no resolution, June 2021.
