The vehicle is currently with Cadillac being inspected. During conversations with Cadillac they said this is a known issue and suggested that I turn the mechanism off and bypass the safety feature to avoid it from happening again. I am the original owner of a 2020 Honda Odyssey Elite. On July 7, 2026, at approximately 76,127 miles, five safety-system warning messages suddenly appeared simultaneously upon startup: Adaptive Cruise Control Problem, Auto High Beam Problem, Road Departure Mitigation System Problem, Collision Mitig
... ation System Problem, and Lane Keeping Assist System Problem. Restarting the vehicle several times did not clear the warnings. After the vehicle sat for approximately 30 minutes, the warnings disappeared. On July 8, after driving approximately 400 miles home, I parked the vehicle outside in approximately 110-degree heat. About two hours later, upon startup, the same five warnings reappeared simultaneously, along with the Brake System warning light. An authorized Honda dealer confirmed the multiple warnings and performed a DTC scan. Code U3000-49 was stored, indicating an internal failure of the multipurpose camera located behind the rearview mirror. Further testing confirmed that camera replacement was required. The dealer replaced and recalibrated the multipurpose camera at 76,567 miles. The repair cost was $1,631.80 for parts and $717.50 for labor, totaling $2,349.30. I am concerned that failure of a single internal camera component simultaneously disabled multiple driver-assistance and collision-avoidance safety systems. I believe NHTSA should investigate whether multipurpose camera failures associated with DTC U3000-49 represent a recurring safety defect in 2020 Honda Odyssey vehicles.Read more

My 2019 Honda Clarity has had a hybrid battery failure that triggers “Check Engine” and “Power System” warnings, making the vehicle unsafe and unreliable to drive. I brought the car to Norm Reeves Honda Cerritos on 12/29/2025, and the battery—still under warranty—has been on backorder fo

Without the wire in the way, I would’ve had not heard the crashing of the door and would have continued to drive over the person standing beside the car as the passenger door knocked him down. The indicator that the door was still open is so small on the gauge cluster that I couldn’t see that the door was still open when I put the car into reverse. There was no audible warning that I was about to move before all doors were closed, and the emergency braking didn’t stop the car from moving. The passenger’s leg got pushed sideways under the open door. Had the guidewire not pulled the door backwards and caused so much noise that I stopped, the door would’ve broken the passenger’s leg and potentially pushed him under the rear passenger side tire.Read more

I am reporting an issue related to a safety recall involving the electronic throttle system on my 2025 Nissan. I scheduled two separate service appointments with Mossy Nissan Kearny Mesa (San Diego, CA) to have this recall addressed, and in both cases, the dealership failed to inspect or service th
... e vehicle on the scheduled day. First appointment – March 6 at 8:45 AM: I dropped off my vehicle at the scheduled time and left it at the dealership for the entire day. I arranged transportation home at my own expense. At approximately 4:00 PM—over 7 hours later—I was contacted and informed that the dealership’s computers were down and that my vehicle had not been inspected at all. No prior notice was given, and the vehicle remained untouched for the entire duration of the appointment. Second appointment – April 8 at 2:30 PM: I scheduled a second appointment and again arranged my schedule to bring the vehicle in. Upon arrival at the scheduled appointment time, I was informed that the vehicle would not be inspected that day and would need to remain overnight before any evaluation could begin. In both cases, despite having scheduled appointments and leaving the vehicle in their possession for extended periods, the dealership did not perform even a basic inspection related to a safety recall. The recall notice indicated that the repair would take approximately one hour. Instead, I lost two workdays and incurred out-of-pocket transportation expenses without any progress on a safety-related issue. This raises concerns about the dealership’s handling of manufacturer safety recalls and the delay in addressing a potentially safety-critical defect.Read more

I was driving on a on a busy interstate after work and out of nowhere I get the Temperature warning and start losing power. This is Dangerous! I am submitting this complaint to report a safety‑related defect involving the electric water pump on my 2014 BMW 320i. This issue is widely documented a
... mong BMW owners, and several 3‑Series models from the same production years have been included in recalls or service bulletins for premature water pump failure. However, the 2014 BMW 320i (F30 chassis, N20/N26 engine) is not included, despite experiencing the same failure pattern. In my case, the water pump failed without warning. During the coolant bleeding process, there was no circulation or pump activation, indicating a complete pump malfunction. This is consistent with the known failure mode of BMW’s electric water pumps, which can stop working suddenly and cause rapid engine overheating. Because the pump is electronically controlled, there is often no gradual symptom—only an abrupt loss of coolant flow that can lead to engine damage within minutes. This defect poses a significant safety risk. A sudden water pump failure can cause the vehicle to overheat while driving, potentially resulting in engine shutdown, loss of power, or being stranded in unsafe conditions. I was driving on a 2 hour drive on the country road and all of the sudden I received an engine overheating warning and began experiencing a loss of power. Given that BMW has acknowledged similar failures in other 3‑Series models of the same year, it is unclear why the 320i is excluded, despite sharing the same engine family and pump design. I respectfully request that NHTSA review this issue and consider expanding the scope of existing investigations or recalls to include the 2014 BMW 320i. Owners should not be responsible for costly repairs related to a known, widespread defect that affects vehicle safety and reliability.Read more

To Whom It May Concern, I am submitting this complaint to report serious and potentially life-threatening safety defects involving my Honda vehicle. 1. Intermittent Failure of Crash Avoidance / Collision Mitigation System The vehicle’s anti-collision/crash-avoidance system has stopped functioning
... intermittently and without warning. This system is intended to provide critical safety protection, and its unpredictable failure significantly increases the risk of a collision. There is no consistent pattern or driver action that explains the system disengaging, which makes the defect especially dangerous. 2. Sudden and Unexplained Sunroof Explosion While Driving While driving at normal highway speed, the sunroof glass suddenly exploded outward without any impact from debris, other vehicles, or road hazards. There was no prior warning. Glass shattered violently, creating an immediate safety emergency that could have resulted in serious injury or loss of vehicle control. This incident was extremely frightening and posed a serious risk to myself, my passengers, and other motorists. Based on my research, similar incidents involving spontaneous sunroof shattering have been reported by other drivers, suggesting a possible systemic defect rather than an isolated incident. I believe these defects represent an unreasonable risk to public safety and warrant investigation. I respectfully request that the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration review this matter and take appropriate action to ensure driver and passenger safety. Thank you for your attention to this serious concern.Read more

To Whom It May Concern, I am writing to formally submit a complaint regarding the handling of my vehicle recall and repair process at Kia Killian Road in Columbia, South Carolina. Vehicle Information: - Year/Make/Model: 2020 Kia Soul - VIN: [XXX] - Registered Owner: [XXX] Timeline of Events: - My
... vehicle was brought to Kia Killian Road for recall repairs related to recalls 21V259, 21V259A, and CS2306 concerning the engine and starter. - The starter was replaced as part of the recall work. Despite this, the vehicle remained at the dealership for over a month and a half without resolution. - I was then informed I would need to pay approximately $1,200 to replace the ignition, even though there had been no issue with the ignition prior to the recall service. - The ignition was replaced at my cost, but I have since been informed that my vehicle is still not repaired due to an alleged electrical issue. - At the time of this complaint, my vehicle has been at the dealership for more than 2.5 months, and I have been given inconsistent explanations and no resolution. Concerns: - The dealership appears to be tying unrelated repairs to the recall, causing unnecessary costs and delays. - I have been without the use of my vehicle for an extended and unreasonable period of time. - I have not been provided a loaner vehicle or alternative transportation despite the lengthy delay. Requested Resolution: - Immediate completion of the recall repair work at no additional cost to me. - Reimbursement of the $1,200 ignition replacement charge, as the issue arose only after recall work began. - Provision of a loaner vehicle or compensation for transportation expenses incurred during the 2.5 months my vehicle has been out of service. - Written clarification from Kia corporate as to why this delay has occurred and how Kia will ensure resolution. This matter has caused significant hardship, and I am seeking urgent assistance from Kia Consumer Affairs, NHTSA, and INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.Read more
