On the morning of April 15, 2024, at around 6 a.m., our 2012 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid unexpectedly caught fire and exploded in front of our house. The contact owns a 2016 Ford Escape. The contact stated that on numerous occasions while driving approximately 65 MPH, the vehicle decelerated to 20 MPH while the accelerator pedal was depressed. The contact stated that while the accelerator pedal was depressed on an incline, the engine revved but t... he vehicle failed to accelerate. No warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The dealer was not notified of the failure.
