Car jyst shut down in the middle of the street without any dashbord lights, strange noises or symptoms. Won't turn over. After tow to BMW dealer they said oil pump broke. I took it to volvo dealer they said oil starvation. They changed design of oil pump drive but don't inform anybody to do it which is very unacceptable. And they should do recall on that. That was very dangerous situation. This oil pump very slowly desteoys without any symptoms. It's really ticking time bomb becouse they now it quietly change design.Thank you.

I have tried reaching BMW USA 3-4 times since November 2024 until now. The representative said BMW is working on correcting the problem. I have CC the email that was sent this June 2025 with no replies. 1 year has passed since the recall was issued and BMW USA has not created a remedy/fix for the coolant problem. I had this car on the TURO car rental platform as I am a host on TURO. I can't list this car to rent out because of the recall. Turo will not allow owners of recalled cars to list their cars because the car could be "potentially unsafe." Yet, the "owner" is driving these "unsafe"' cars on the road. I did my part. I already sent another recent email to get a solution. What would be my next step? (Almost one year now....) Also, I am sending this email Pacific time at 5:07 WED., July 30th. On the document: the Update IS on THURSDAY JULY 31st. WHAT???!!!!! Make it make sense . Frustrated OWNER

The coolant pump on my BMW has failed due to a known recall issue (NHTSA Recall Number 24V608). Despite the recall being issued months ago, BMW has not provided a timely fix or remedy. As a result, the coolant pump began leaking, causing my vehicle to overheat and leak coolant, which has led to further damage and significant safety concerns. This issue put my safety and the safety of others at risk because the overheating occurred while driving, potentially leading to engine failure or an accident. The problem has been confirmed by my BMW dealer, but no repair has been made due to the lack of an available remedy. The vehicle has not been inspected by the manufacturer beyond the dealer visit, and no inspections have been performed by police or insurance representatives. There were no specific warning lamps or messages indicating a coolant pump failure prior to the initial overheating incident, although the vehicle did eventually display warnings about engine overheating. The failure is directly related to the unresolved recall issue, and I am requesting that BMW expedite a remedy to prevent further damage and safety risks.

I JUST BOUGHT MY BMW 2014 428I AND WHEN I RECEIVED IT IT WAS WORKING FLAWLESSLY BUT AFTER A DAY MY CAR COMPLETELY STUTTERED AT A LIGHT AND STALLED AND I WAS COMPLETELY SHOCKED IT CRANKED RIGHT BACK UP BUT I WAS STILL CONFUSED, BUT NOW IT'S WORSE THAN BEFORE NOW WHILE I'M DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY IT JUST SHUTS OFF AND PUTS ITSELF IN NEUTRAL, SO WHILE THE CAR IS STILL IN MOTION I AM FORCED TO START IT AND SHIFT IT BACK INTO DRIVE. WHEN IT FIRST HAPPENED I WAS SCARED BUT NOW IT HAPPENS SO MUCH THAT IT HAS BECOME SECOND NATURE WHICH I FEEL LIKE I SHOULDN'T HAVE TO BECOME PRONE TO THIS. I LOOKED AT THE RECALL LIST AND SAW THAT ON OTHER 428I'S THE FUEL PUMP AND BRAKE LINE IS THEIR ISSUE BUT WHEN I SEARCHED MY VIN NOTHING POPPED UP BUT AS I JUST EXPLAINED IT IS AFFECTING MY VEHICLE AS WELL.

I WAS STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT BEHIND ANOTHER VEHICLE WITH MY FOOT APPLIED TO THE BRAKE. SUDDENLY MY CAR SURGED FORWARD. I IMMEDIATELY PUSHED MY FOOT DOWN ON THE BRAKE HARDER. NOTHING HAPPENED. MY CAR CONTINUED TO SURGE FORWARD, HITTING THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME. I PUT ON THE EMERGENCY BRAKE AND PUT THE CAR IN PARK. WE GOT OUT OF OUR VEHICLES. FORTUNATELY HER CAR ONLY RECEIVED MINOR SCRATCHES ON HER SPARE TIRE COMPARTMENT (IT'S ATTACHED TO THE BACK OF THE VEHICLE) BUT MY CAR RECEIVED THE DAMAGE AS THE HOOD WENT UNDER THE SPARE TIRE COMPARTMENT. I THEN NERVOUSLY/CAUTIOUSLY DROVE MY CAR TO SOUTH BAY BMW TO HAVE THEM DIAGNOSE WHAT HAPPEDED. TWO DAYS LATER I RECEIVED A PHONE CALL FROM THEM STATING THAT NOTHING IS WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE. THEY TOLD ME THAT I COULD LEAVE THE CAR THERE AND THEY CAN BEGIN AN INVESTIGATION WITH BMW BUT I WOULD HAVE TO LEAVE MY CAR THERE AND IT MAY TAKE A COUPLE OF MONTHS. I LEFT MY CAR THERE AND EMAILED BMW IMMEDIATELY. I CALLED BUT THEY WERE ALREADY CLOSED. I RECEIVED AN EMAIL FROM THEM THIS MORNING, 7/29, STATING THAT I WOULD BE CONTACTED IN THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS BY SOMEONE FROM THE EXECUTIVE OFFICE. I THEN CALLED THE RECALL DEPARTMENT AND SPOKE WITH A GENTLEMAN WHO SAID MY VIN WASN'T SHOWING A RECALL. I EXPLAINED TO HIM THAT MAY BE THE CASE BUT MY VEHICLE YEAR, MAKE AND MODEL IS LISTED AS THE AFFECTED VEHICLES. HE INFORMED ME THAT HE SAW THAT I HAVE CONTACTED BMW AND THAT I HAVE TO WAIT TO HEAR BACK FROM THE EXECUTIVE OFFICE. I THEN WENT ONTO YOUR WEBSITE AND SAW COMPLAINTS OF THIS SAME EXACT THING HAPPENING TO OTHER PEOPLE. I WILL FOLLOW UP AS SOON AS I HEAR BACK FROM BMW. HOPEFULLY THIS IS SOMETHING THEY WILL BE ABLE TO FIX INCLUDING THE DAMAGES TO MY CAR AS I DON'T FEEL THIS IS SOMETHING I SHOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR TO FIX AS IT WAS A VEHICLE MALFUNCTION NOT HUMAN ERROR. THIS A HUGE SAFETY CONCERN AND I'M NOT ALONE!
