Defect Description
Altec Industries Inc. (Altec) is recalling certain 2011-2025 Aerial Device, Digger Derrick, and 2022-2025 Service Body vehicles. The cable step wire rope assembly may be improperly secured, which can allow the cable entry step to detach from the vehicle.
Consequence
A cable step that fails during use increases the risk of injury.
Remedy
Altec will provide owners with instructions to inspect the cable crimps. If the cables are improperly crimped, Altec will provide instructions and a kit to replace the wire rope assemblies. Altec Industries, Inc. (Altec) is recalling certain 2020-2024 Altec LR7 and LR8 aerial devices. The hydraulic cylinder feeder tube routed near the cylinder rest bracket may become damaged and leak oil, which can result in uncontrolled boom movement.
Consequence
Uncontrolled movement of the boom can increase the risk of injury.
Remedy

Consequence
An outlet without GFCI protection may fail to shut off electrical power when a ground-fault occurs, increasing the risk of injury or fire.
Remedy

Consequence
A missing weld on the rear pole rack can lead to a crack that could cause the pole and rack to drop in height, increasing the risk of an injury.
Remedy

Consequence
The operator could overextend the boom while using the material handling jib, causing the aerial device to tip over and increasing the risk of injury.

Consequence
The operator may not have access to the rated capacity information while they are operating the equipment in combined use, increasing the risk of an injury.
Remedy

Consequence
Oil absorbed by the exhaust heat shield thermal blanket has an increased risk of a fire from being exposed to hot engine components.
Remedy
