From the service report: " SCANNED FOUND NO TROUBLE CODES IN SYSTEM PUT VEHICLE ON LIFT AND INSPECTED FOUND LEFT REAR AXLE FAILED INTERNALLY NEEDS NEW AXLE TECH REMOVED AND REPLACED AXLE. My experience: I pulled out of our driveway and after ~100 yards I heard a clunk. I thought maybe I hit a pothole. After driving another ~300 yard I accelerated on a freeway onramp
... when the car lost power and served a bit. There were no warning lights or messages. I was just able to get off the onramp before entering the freeway. The loss of power and lack of some control was dangerous for me and to those behind me. The car was towed to the dealership (Genesis of Meriden). They determined that it was the rear axel. This is quite concerning because the axel or driveshaft had already been replaced as part of a recall. It is also concerning because the car has ~5000 miles.Read more

THESE NEW BRUSHES LASTED PERHAPS ANOTHER 1000 MILES OF TRAVEL BEFORE THE SAME TYPE OF FAILURE OCCURRED. THROTTLE CONTROL, IN BOTH CASES, SEEM TO HAVE FAILED WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS AT REST, SO I DON'T KNOW WHAT THE POTENTIAL IS FOR THIS TO OCCUR WHILE IN MOTION. THE THROTTLE CONTROLS, UPON TURNING ON THE ELECTRIC MOTORCYCLE, DID NOT RESPOND TO INPUT, I.E. THE MOTORCYCLE WOULD NOT MOVE. THE FIRST TIME, THE MANUFACTURER REPLACED THE THROTTLE CONTROL. THE SECOND OCCURRENCE WAS YESTERDAY, SO I DON'T KNOW HOW IT WILL BE RESOLVED. TWO COMPONENTS OF THIS MOTORCYCLE, THE DRIVE MOTOR AND THE THROTTLE CONTROL ARE SUSCEPTIBLE TO FAILURE WITHOUT WARNING. BOTH HAVE FAILED TWICE ON MY MOTORCYCLE, THE VEHICLE HAS LESS THAN 1800 MILES ON IT TODAY. MOTOR FAILURES WERE WHILE TRAVELING ON THE ROAD AND CAUSED AN INSTANT AND IRRECOVERABLE LOSS OF POWER. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 ZERO ZERO S. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 15 MPH, THE FRONT WHEEL SUDDENLY SEIZED AND CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO FLIP OVER THEN CRASH. THERE WERE NO INJURIES.
