October 10, 2025. The vehicle is a 2022 Winnebago EKKO RV on a 2021 Ford Transit with 49,000 miles. The incident occurred after driving the vehicle for about 5 minutes with outside temperatures around 50 degrees Fahrenheit and noticed an unusual high pitch whine. When I opened the hood the Balmar MC-618 Alternator unit was extremely hot, smoking, and had a strong burning smell. Since the EKKO mode
... ls have had numerous reports of secondary alternator/Balmar malfunctions I knew enough to disable the alternator by unplugging the 4 pin connector on the Balmar 618 regulator before traveling any further. The following morning I plugged the Balmar unit back in and the whining sound and burning smell immediately returned. There is a NHTSA Safety Recall 23V-234, Campaign # 174 EKKO 12V Charging System, sent out by Winnebago for this very safety issue due to fires. This recall was completed during the time that the original owner had this 2022 Winnebago EKKO (prior to our purchasing this 2022 Winnebago EKKO in June 2024). There have been numerous failures on Balmar units that have had the campaign #174 recall completed, including ones performed at the factory. The Winnebago fix is obviously not working and is still an extreme fire issue.Read more

I am submitting this complaint to formally report a recurring safety issue with the infotainment system in my 2022 Honda Accord. The system is experiencing what is commonly referred to as "ghost touching"—where the screen registers false inputs and changes functions on its own without any user interaction. This issue causes the display to randomly switch between menus, adjust settings, and even
... interrupt or cancel navigation while the vehicle is in motion. At times, the screen rapidly flashes through various menus or changes audio sources, which is not only distracting but dangerously diverts the driver’s attention from the road. It has even placed random calls to people as my phone's contacts are synced. This is a known issue among owners of similar Honda vehicles, and I personally had the infotainment unit replaced under warranty last year for the exact same problem. However, the issue has returned, and despite it being a documented, recurring defect, Honda is now refusing to cover the cost of repair, citing that my vehicle is no longer under warranty. I am deeply concerned that this malfunction poses a serious safety risk to drivers, passengers, and others on the road. It forces drivers to interact with the system to regain control or restore lost navigation/audio functions—often while driving—thereby increasing the likelihood of distracted driving incidents. I respectfully request that NHTSA investigate this issue further and consider whether a recall or formal action is warranted to ensure that affected vehicles are repaired at no cost to owners and without further compromise to safety. Thank you for your attention to this matter.Read more

Tires on this Winnebago EKKO 23B 2025 model year, purchased in April 2024 are the original tires, never removed or repaired. These tires are Hankook Dynapro AT2X all terrain tires, size LT215/85R/16. These tires have only 10,600 miles and from the photos you can see the tread is in excellent condition. The tires have a TPMS that showed accurrate recommended PSI before our trip from New Hampshire
... . Road conditions were clear, temperature in the mid-70s on Saturday, October 4th. We had traveled only 117 miles when the rear outside dual tire on the passenger side failed. No warning. A side wall blow out (see photos). We were able to pull into a gas station in Williston VT. Tire technician from local Town Fair Tire changed the tire to the spare and confirmed an unusual side wall blow out as pictured. All tires on this motorhome are the original and identical tires, with the exception of the driver's side rear outside dual tire which was replaced with an identical tire after the failure I reported in April of this year (VOQ#11657901). There were no warning sounds or TPMS signals before this most recent failure or the earlier one in April 2024.Read more

SUMMARY: Propane leaks from outside LP hose when factory zip-tie failed resulting in LP hose detached and damaged from rubbing against the tire. 2022 Winnebago EKKO. DETAILS: RV has a LP hose that routes above the passenger side rear tires from the propane tanks to other locations of the RV. This hose was held back from the rear tire at two locations each with a thin metal tab and a single plas
... tic zip-tie. One of the zip-tie failed, resulting in the LP hose rubbing on the tire when driving. The rubbing made a hole on the hose and propane leaked from the hole. I was cooking next to the RV at a campground when propane was leaking from the damaged hose. The leak could have caused an explosion and serious injury to anyone nearby. The design to use plastic zip-tie to keep the LP hose from the tires is unsafe. I have taken photos of the damage and reported this incident to Winnebago customer service via email on 9/11/25. This issue was not reported to the police or insurance company due to no injury. Prior to the propane leak there was no warning or message or other symptoms of the problem. Problem first appeared during a camping trip in late July 2025 when I was camping at White River campground in Mt Rainier National Park in WA.Read more

Vehicle: 2023 Volvo V60 T8. Turn signal failure. About once a week the infotainment system goes black and completely dies while driving, causing the audio in the car to stop working. When this occurs the turn signal is silent when activated. The vehicle uses the speakers to produce the blinker "clicking" noise when actuated, but there is no sound when the infotainment system fails. This caus

I am writing to formally request a recall for my 2016 Nissan Altima due to a known issue with the Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT). Notably, these issues occurred without any prior warning lamps or ind

These problems have not been reproduced during dealer inspections or by law enforcement, yet they pose a significant safety risk to myself and others on the road. I would like to qualify for the free recall service to have this issue inspected and resolved by an authorized Nissan dealer. On [XXX] while driving my 2025 Winnebago Ekko 23B at elevations between 5,000 and 6,000 feet, the vehicle repeatedly lost engine power and stalled under specific conditions, creating a significant safety hazard. The issue occurred when the house batteries were below 100% charge, the engine was at idle or low RPM (below 1,250), and the secondary alternator began charging the Lithionics battery syst
... em, causing RPMs to drop below 500, complete loss of propulsion (unable to move forward or reverse), and occasional activation of the check engine light with codes P0506, P3002E6, and P30059B. This happened four times, including twice when attempting to pull out from stops, which could have resulted in a collision if traffic had been present—imagine suddenly stalling in an intersection with family aboard. The problem resolved at lower elevations (below 2,000 feet) or when maintaining higher RPMs before charging initiated, but it was reproducible every time the conditions were met at altitude. Despite diagnostics at a Mercedes-Benz dealership , where systems were cleared and no faults found (suspecting the Winnebago-installed secondary alternator), and repairs at the Winnebago Factory Service Center in Forest City, IA , where the Wakespeed regulator was unnecessarily replaced and the issue blamed on Mercedes (suggesting an unsubstantiated "learning mode" at elevation), the root cause remains unaddressed. This defect, reported by multiple other Ekko owners in online forums and directly to Winnebago, violates Mercedes upfitting guidelines against drawing alternator power below 1,200 RPM and poses an ongoing risk of sudden power loss in traffic or on highways. To preference, I have only owned this vehicle for less than six months, and that the only major issue concerning the vehicle was the replacement of the catalytic converter manifold. On the afternoon of [XXX] I was coming to a complete stop at a very busy 4-way located in Peach County, GA when the power to the entire vehicle was shut down. There was difficulty attempting to turn over the key in ign
... ition, so with the help from a passerby I was able to push my vehicle to a safe location nearby as my vehicle was idle in the middle of a populated 4-way intersection, putting my and others’ safety at risk. As I go to check under the hood, I look for any components out of place and to check fluids. I check my oil dipstick to notice that there was metal residue in my oil, something that was not present previous to my commute in the area. As I am now able to turn over the ignition, a sputtering noise begins to emit from the engine, a noise that was also not present previous to my commute. Within the hour I was able to move my car, albeit slowly to a U-Haul location; it should also be known that my check engine light appeared in the process (no warning lamps were present on the vehicle prior to the engine failure). I returned home and instantly got in contact with my technician who does repairs to my car and he confirmed after inspecting the oil and noise from the engine that it was engine failure and that there may have been a ‘recall on the engine’ as did another mechanic I advised with. I called my local dealership about any recalls on my vehicle to which they said no, I then called the customer service hotline to begin a claim on my vehicle: I asked questions in relations to warranty, the previous owner, service history that may have went undocumented all with it being that the conclusion from the operator was that the warranty that was attached to the vehicle was expired and that it would not have covered the repair of the engine anyway. Our 2020 Sprinter (Winnebago Revel) had 13,212 miles on it when I first reported this issue. During our ownership we have experienced many failures of the Advanced Driver Assistance System, one previous failure happened when where a semi-truck was preparing to pass me and was very close behind my van, when my vans cruise control deactivated we quickly slowed down and the driver of the truck had to
... take evasive maneuvers to avoid an accident. When this failure happens two error messages are displayed on the instrument display behind the steering wheel, “Active Brake Assist Functions Limited see operator’s manual” and “Active distance assistance inoperative”. As of April 2025 this problem is a commonly reported issue with the sprinter van (sprinter distronic failure). It is known that the van will abruptly shut down the cruise control if the vehicle has not detected another vehicle in front of it for a specific period of time and the only way to get the system to work again is to follow another vehicle for approximately 15 minutes. My incident (above) seems to be a safety issue and was reported in a NHTSA report id # 11542979 but no one seems to take it seriously We have had the Van to the dealer and they indicate that they cannot re-create the symptom so they cannot make any attempt to repair it and will not acknowledge the problem exists even though Mercedes Bens has issued bulletins on the problem (LI.54.71-N-075673). Please urge Mercedes to correct this issue.Read more

Very hard to brake, like stepping on a brick. Have to start breaking way in advance. Also keep getting a "shift to park" alert and car won't shut down and can't get out of it sometimes.
