On XXX, my 2018 Ford EcoSport experienced a sudden loss of engine oil pressure and loss of power while driving on [XXX], consistent with the failure mode described in Ford Safety Recall 23S64 / NHTSA Recall 23V905 (engine oil pump drive belt tensioner arm fracture and/or oil pump drive belt degradation). The vehicle lost motive power on a public highway and had to be towed to Olathe Ford Lincoln,
... Olathe, KS for repair. The dealer has confirmed the failure is covered under this recall, but has stated repair parts are backordered with an estimated repair time of 2–3 months. I am filing this complaint to document that the defect described in this recall has actually manifested in my vehicle — a loss of engine power on a highway — which per Ford's own notice also results in loss of the mechanical vacuum pump required for power brake assist, creating a serious crash risk. I am requesting NHTSA log this incident against Recall 23V905 and evaluate whether a 2–3 month repair timeline meets the "reasonable time" remedy standard under 49 U.S.C. § 30120. I also did not receive and notice of the recall before the event occured, so that I could be proactive with the repair before the dangerous situation. I was intending to make a left hand turn out of a dinner parking lot. As I approached the exit, I saw that a car was about to drive past me preventing me from making that turn, so I put my foot on the brake pedal to stop my car and let the vehicle safely pass in front of me. But the brake did not work. It did not stop my car. The pedal felt limp not firm I turned sharply to the left to avoid str

I then restarted the car, the brake pedal was now firm again and I drove home. I returned home and left the car in my driveway until Monday, July 13 when I had a tow truck take the vehicle to the dealer. This is not the first time my brakes became soft and limp and failed to stop my car. There have been at least two or three previous incidents over the the past months while backing out of a parking space, the brake pedal became limp. In those instances I was able to stop the vehicle by putting it in park. When I restarted the vehicle, the brake returned to being firm. These incidents are intermittent. I don't know when and where they will occur. To date, the dealer claims not to have found anything wrong with my brakes. Apparently, unless they can replicate my experience directly themselves, they intend to send me on my merry way. I don't consider the vehicle is safe to drive. The intermittent problems I have had with the brakes all occurred in exiting parking lots and not on the highway at 55 MPH - fortunately. These incidents occurred. The brakes have failedRead more

Vehicle Information: 2018 Harley-Davidson Road Glide Special Safety Complaint: I am filing this complaint because the excessive engine heat from my 2018 Harley-Davidson Road Glide Special has caused repeated burns to my right inner thigh while riding. This is not simply an issue of rider discomfort—it is a safety concern that has resulted in physical injury. During normal riding, particularly
... in stop-and-go traffic, at traffic lights, or in warm weather, the engine produces an excessive amount of heat that is directed toward my right inner thigh. Despite wearing jeans, I have suffered multiple burns over time. The most recent burn blistered and has now left permanent scarring on my leg. I have owned this motorcycle since it was new and have noticed the excessive heat issue repeatedly. I have also experienced what appears to be increasing heat over time. I believe riders should not be exposed to temperatures capable of causing burns during normal operation of a motorcycle. This condition creates a safety hazard because it can distract the rider, cause sudden pain while operating the motorcycle, and lead to loss of concentration or control. In my case, it has resulted in repeated burns and permanent scars. I respectfully request that the NHTSA investigate this issue to determine whether excessive engine heat on this model presents an unreasonable safety risk to riders.Read more

All my husband purchases is mainly Fords and he has for over 20 years. The last 3 Fords we have purchases from years 2019-2025 have had the same issues. My husband had a 2019 Ford Escape that broke down on us in the mountains. Had to have transmission replaced twice before 100,000 miles. Then he got a 2020 escape and same thing plus a motor replaced..now I have a 2022 bronco sport outer banks and

We have been loyal to ford for so long and now losing faith! I can in no way possible afford that much money! I bought it because I thought it was the safe option for my daughter and for me taking her to school. This car is not safe to drive at all! While driving in normal traffic, when I come to a complete stop and keep my foot on the brake, the Auto Idle Stop system activates as designed. However, when I release the brake to continue driving, the engine intermittently fails to restart properly. Instead, it repeatedly attempts to restart, cycling on and off several times before shutting down completely. When this occurs, the vehicle becomes
... disabled in traffic and does not respond as expected. It can take multiple attempts and a significant amount of time before the engine finally restarts, leaving me stranded in intersections or in moving traffic. This creates a serious safety hazard because surrounding vehicles continue moving while my vehicle is unable to move. This problem has occurred multiple times under normal driving conditions and is not an isolated incident. During one occurrence, the vehicle failed to restart after the Auto Idle Stop system activated, leaving my vehicle disabled in traffic. As a result of this incident, my vehicle was involved in a collision that **damaged the front and back bumper**. Fortunately, no one was seriously injured, but the incident clearly demonstrates the significant safety risk associated with this defect. The vehicle is currently at an authorized Honda dealership for diagnosis and repair. I am submitting this complaint because a vehicle that unexpectedly shuts down and fails to restart after Auto Idle Stop activation presents a serious safety hazard. I am concerned that this defect could lead to additional crashes, property damage, or serious injuries if it is not corrected.Read more

Failed Component: Powertrain (PCM/TCM/HCP software calibration) & Electrical/Steering (Fire Recalls). Safety Risk & Description: Following recent mandatory manufacturer software updates, this vehicle has developed a severe, dangerous drivetrain defect. Under light acceleration from a complete stop, the vehicle exhibits an extreme throttle lag and hard delay before violently surging forward, creati
... ng a high risk of intersection collisions. Furthermore, at sustained highway speeds (52–63 MPH), the vehicle abruptly drops out of Electric Mode, causing the gas engine to violently spike to 5,000 RPMs before dropping back. This erratic cycling causes the vehicle to lurch, jerk, and pull, actively disrupting lane control. Compounding this, due to consecutive, unresolved fire safety recalls—including Recall 68C (Battery Fires) and the June 2026 Power Steering Pump wiring fire recall—the vehicle cannot be safely parked inside my garage or near structures while turned off. It represents a total loss of normal use and a severe safety liability. Dealer Confirmation & History: The driving defect was formally duplicated and confirmed by a certified technician on 06/09/2026 at Ryan Auto Mall (Repair Order #471599). The technician explicitly documented the electric mode dropouts and acceleration lag in writing. However, because the vehicle’s software masking prevents standard Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) from triggering, the dealer closed the ticket stating it is "operating as designed." The vehicle's electrical and hybrid systems have been repeatedly altered via mandatory safety recalls: Recall 23A/04B (05/14/2024), Recall 95B (05/27/2025), and Recall 68C (02/11/2026). The vehicle is subject to an active safety recall (rear axle hub bolt / axle assembly). The issue has been confirmed by a dealer inspection in November 2025. Despite confirmation, no repair was performed because the dealer did not initially order the required parts. This resulted in several months of delay. After escalation to the manufacturer, a parts order was finally placed in April 2026 and m

This conflicts with recall information indicating that parts are available. The recall states that failure of the axle hub components can lead to loss of motive power or unintended vehicle movement. The vehicle is used regularly for towing and hauling, which increases concern about potential failure under load. The safety issue remains unresolved after several months, and there is no timeline for repair despite repeated attempts to address it through both the dealer and manufacturer.Read more

A water intrusion issue developed originating from the roof/moonroof area of the vehicle. The problem was initially diagnosed by an authorized dealership as a failure in the moonroof drain system, and the drain tubes were replaced. The repair was completed and marked as resolved. However, the leak continued after the repair. Upon further inspection, the dealership identified the source of the le

This area contains curtain airbag components and associated electrical systems. The presence of moisture in this location raises concern about potential impact to airbag functionality and overall vehicle safety. There were no warning lights or system messages prior to or during the occurrence of this issue. The failure presents as visible water intrusion, including wet headliner material and moisture accumulation near the A-pillar. The issue has been reproduced and confirmed by an authorized dealership. However, the main concerns of swaying and brake issues remained unresolved. the master mechanic, test-drove the vehicle but was unable to reproduce the issue. I scheduled another service appointment for January 16th, 2026, hoping for a resolution. However, the service advisor, informed me that the technician was unable to find any issues with the vehicle after a test drive. When braking since these lights are on it will cause issue with the brakes themselves as if they don’t want to brake fully. Now I’m a 32 year old man and am aware of making sure your brakes are good and fully functioning. I’ve noticed also the steering when slowing down too from this. Nothing underneath the vehicle is an issue for steering. All steering components are fully functioning. I’
... ve noticed issues with the clock spring in the Jeep as well. Sometime it comes and goes (most likely and electoral problem) geez who knew! Haha, however when I’m turning the airbag light will stay on then go off and the lights on the steering wheel themselves with turn off. They’ve been off for awhile now. Since this is happening on a daily basis. When owing down it’s cause a very big issue for me because it will make the jeep want to turn in any direction it may feel and sometimes that direction is in another lane mostly on coming traffic! I have not had the jeep looked at by a dealer but has been by a mechanic with a $3000 scanner and he still has the codes stored for me. No and no.Read more

In January 2025, we drove to Florida from Michigan. When I started my car every signal light came on. It would not allow me to shut down. We drove it to Orlando Honda and they said the sensor light was covered with road salt. It was very scary. In November 2025 we were driving home in a snowstorm. The sensor in the front got covered and shut down the speed control, warning lights of crossing lane,
... detecting cars on right or left. I get told every time can’t duplicate. The automatic bright lights got stuck on after only a month of having this car. Dealership says it was off. Well it wasn’t and they still do not work. Speed limit sign on dashboard will go up to 85 miles per hour this is in a 25 mile area. Again they say can’t duplicate. Brakes feel mushy to myself and husband. Again we’re told there is nothing wrong with it. When the speed controls are set there is at least 2 miles difference with my Waze speed and the vehicles speed. I’m told this is normal. Well it’s not. Something is wrong with the electrical system. I owned a Honda Odyssey before and I never had any issues with that one. We’re getting ready to drive to Florida and I’m terrified the system will shut down again. I was told that having road salt on a sensor is not a warranty issue. Well, it is because of poor design. I’m also afraid once this vehicle is no longer under warranty I will be paying $ for this poor design. I’m not happy and now wish I had my old one back.Read more
