AFTER THE INCIDENT, I DO NOT FEEL CONFIDENT ABOUT THE PARK ASSIST PILOT FEATURE AND WILL NOT RECOMMEND OTHERS TO USE IT. WE HOPE THIS REPORT WILL LEAD TO AN INVESTIGATION OF THE VEHICLE'S PARK ASSIST PILOT SYSTEM AND PREVENT MORE SERIOUS ACCIDENTS FROM HAPPENING TO OTHERS. THE SUV HAS HAD LOTS OF PROBLEMS WITH THE ENGINE. THE ENGINE HAS STOPPED WITHOUT WARNING NUMEROUS TIMES WHILE IN MOTION. IT EVEN STOPPED ONE TIME ON THE HIGHWAY. IT COMES AJAR AND THE INTERIOR LIGHT COMES ON AND MESSAGE THAT DRIVER DOOR IS OPEN.. IT HAPPENS INTERMITTENTLY BUT IS BECOMING MORE AND MORE FREQUENT UNTIL NOW IT IS ALMOST DAILY. AT 148,000 MILES, THE VEHICLE TRANSMISSION STARTED TO FAIL TO UPSHIFT AFTER GETTING WARMED UP (ABOUT 20 MINUTES DRIVING) THEN FAILED COMPLETELY IN THE MIDDLE OF AN INTERSECTION. DEALER SAID NO REPAIR/REBUILD WAS AVAILABLE AND SUGGESTED COMPLETE REPACEMENT. ESTIMATED COST WAS MORE THAN THE VALUE OF THE VEHICLE.
