After driving the vehicle for 5000 miles, the check engine light appeared. We brought the vehicle to dealership and were told that a cylinder was mistimed. They replaced a bank of lifters and returned the vehicle to us. A few weeks later, the check engine light reappeared and we noticed the engine was making some odd sounds. It wa brought back to the dealership and they replaced the fuel pump and
... hose. The vehicle was returned to us but the check engine light reappeared. The dealership stated that they couldn’t reproduce the problem after testing. The vehicle was returned to us but we noticed that it would periodically lose power upon driving and would have lurching sensation while driving. The check engine light came on intermittently and it is now being brought back to them for the fourth time.Read more

Transmission went out on me at 100,653 miles. 10 speed transmission. Would stay in gear for a long time in 1st through 3rd. Shift super hard from 5th to 7th. At times going down highway it would say it’s in first gear and I would have no throttle for 5-10 seconds until it would show it was in 10th gear again, vehicle would be in “coast” mode on the freeway. Sudden harsh shifts when not warra

As I came online to check issues with these I found a mountain of complaints with these same transmissions. Ford needs to offer a recall with the amount of cases on the 10r80 transmission failures, plain and simple. Absolutely wrong for a truck with 100,653 miles to lose a transmission.Read more

While driving, regardless of whether at neighborhood or highway speeds, my Jeep Wrangler 4xe suddenly loses drive power without warning. Electric propulsion drops in stages — to about 50%, then 25% — then the dash displays "Electric Mode Temporarily Unavailable" and the vehicle forces itself into hybrid mode. When this happens, I press the accelerator and get little or no response for several
... seconds before the gas engine engages. This is a serious safety hazard when merging or pulling into traffic. I have had a couple of close calls due to the lack of acceleration. It is repeatable and occurs during normal driving. This all began after having the 68C recall performed. Also, while driving in electric mode at highway speeds, the engine constantly starts and stops, causing a lurching each time. In other instances, when the acceleration is lagging, and the engine does start and engage, the vehicle accelerates more than expected, which could be a serious safety risk.Read more

On Saturday, June 20, I was driving my son to soccer. We stopped at a stoplight. When the light turned green, I pressed the accelerator and we went forward. However, when I took my foot off the accelerator, the car continued to accelerate. Luckily it slowed down when I pushed on the break. But every time I took my foot off the break the car continued to accelerate. I did not have a good place to p
... ull over to the side. So at the next stop light, I turned the car completely off. I turned it back on again, but the same thing happened. I arrived at the soccer field and parked the car for the remainder of the day, which was several hours. It did not do that again that evening. The other thing that has happened a couple of times prior to the incident and since is, the Nissan panel display that lights up when you turn the car on turned completely off and on again several times at random while I was driving. Usually the panel stays with eliminated and plays audio or shows a map. It turned itself completely off to Black and then back on again as if the car was starting up again. On Tuesday, I took the car to Nissan because I had called the problem in over the weekend, but their service center was not open. They were unable to replicate the problem. However, on my way to Nissan, the accelerator again pressed forward independently of my actions and the car accelerated without warning. This is very scary and felt extremely dangerous. I told the technicians that Nissan that the problem appeared similar to a recall that had been in place a few years ago. But they said that unless they could replicate the problem, they weren’t able to do anything about it. I was very unsatisfied with that because it seemed like a pretty dangerous situation.Read more

A few weeks ago, I was driving home on a 3-Lane local state route here in NJ from a family outing on a rainy dark evening when a large portion of the body paint from the hood flaked / peeled off and somehow got stuck under the drivers side windshield wiper as they were on during the rain at highway speed. It was a large enough piece (at least 3" wide) , to not only get stuck under the wiper, but c
... reate a serious issue for me to see out the windshield where the wiper wouldn't clear my vision out of the windshield. I managed somehow to safely pull to the side of the road and get out to inspect what it was.. I was able to remove the large piece of peeling paint from under the wiper but it did ruin the edge of the wiper blade which made for a treacherous drive home and I had to replace the wiper at a later date. The paint is peeling from all over my car (Hood, Pillars, Roof) and I've done my best to get all the loose pieces off but I'm afraid to drive it anywhere with the thought more paint will peel off with the wind & get carried to someone else driving behind me. My Hyundai Elantra is a 2020 and has only 48,526 miles currently. I contacted my local Hyundai dealer who advised me I am "Out of warranty for paint coverage" and suggested I further open a case with Hyundai Corporate, which I did, and was assigned a case manager who requested I take it back to my local Hyundai dealer in Avenel, NJ (Sansone) and have a service advisor/technician take pictures and submit them to Warranty Services for a "goodwill repair". Hyundai came back with a "DECLINED" status from it being "Out of warranty caused by the time in service and mileage of the vehicle" and "no goodwill assistance is being offered at this time". The estimate from Hyundai claimed it would cost approx $6,500 to have the car repainted according to the service printout. The dealership and Hyundai are both aware of many, many vehicles that entire pieces of paint are just peeling / falling off several colored cars.Read more

I own a 2018 Honda Accord equipped with the 1.5L turbocharged engine. At approximately 53,666 miles, the vehicle developed a rough idle, engine shaking during startup, intermittent check engine light, and a cylinder 1 misfire code (P0301). I took the vehicle to a Honda dealership for diagnosis. The dealership confirmed coolant intrusion into cylinder #1 after performing a cooling system pressure
... test and borescope inspection. The dealership determined that the engine has a failed head gasket and provided a repair estimate exceeding $6,000. The dealership advised that the vehicle should not be driven because coolant entering the cylinder can cause further engine damage, loss of power, engine stalling, overheating, or complete engine failure while driving. I believe this is a safety concern because the engine may misfire, lose power, or fail unexpectedly during vehicle operation. A major engine failure at only 53,666 miles is not consistent with normal wear and tear. I am submitting this complaint so that NHTSA can investigate potential defects involving coolant intrusion, head gasket failure, and cylinder misfires in Honda Accord vehicles equipped with the 1.5L turbocharged engine.Read more

The rear suspension coil spring on my vehicle fractured and failed. The failure was diagnosed and confirmed by a Honda dealership. The broken spring remains available for inspection upon request. The failure creates a significant safety concern because the vehicle's ride height, handling, and suspension performance are compromised. A broken coil spring can shift position, contact the tire, damage
... suspension components, and potentially affect vehicle control. The dealership advised that the spring requires replacement. The condition was confirmed by a Honda dealer during inspection. I was informed that replacement OEM springs are on national backorder and are currently unavailable. As a result, the vehicle cannot be repaired with the factory part in a reasonable timeframe. The vehicle has been inspected by a Honda dealership. No accident, collision, or unusual road hazard preceded the failure. Prior to diagnosis, I noticed abnormal suspension noises from the rear of the vehicle, including clunking/creaking sounds while driving over bumps at low speeds. No dashboard warning lights or warning messages were displayed because the suspension system is not monitored by a warning lamp. I am concerned that this may be a broader defect because other Honda Odyssey owners have reported similar rear spring failures, and the replacement parts are difficult to obtain. The combination of a safety-related suspension failure and lack of available replacement parts has left the vehicle unable to be repaired promptly.Read more

The vehicle's suspension system was improperly configured for its electric powertrain at the time of manufacture, resulting in an incorrect ride height that is incompatible with the vehicle's EV platform. This is not an isolated component failure but a fundamental design defect — the vehicle was delivered in a condition that was never properly suited to its own drivetrain. This defect has caused
... ongoing damage to the vehicle's undercarriage, compromised handling and dynamic stability, and produced accelerated and premature tire wear. BMW/MINI, as the manufacturer, knew or reasonably should have known at the time of sale that the suspension specification was incompatible with this vehicle's electric drivetrain configuration. The failure to disclose or remedy this condition prior to sale, and the failure to adequately repair it despite repeated attempts, reflects a willful disregard of its warranty obligations.Read more

I own a 2024 Volkswagen Tiguan with approximately 24,000 miles that was purchased used with only 2,300 miles and a clean title. The vehicle has developed significant oil consumption/seepage issues related to the EA888 2.0T engine. It began with oil seeping around the oil fill tube and cap due to a failed crankcase pressure assembly (PCV/oil separator). I replaced it myself with genuine Volkswagen
... parts, but the oil level continues to drop after normal driving, indicating either a residual leak or excessive consumption. The dealership denied warranty coverage over the phone solely because the vehicle was in a prior accident (repaired with OEM parts), without performing any inspection or oil consumption test. This appears to be a known defect in these engines. Volkswagen considers up to 1 quart every 1,200 miles “normal,” which I believe is unreasonable for a near-new vehicle. Using Tesla FSD 14.3.3. It began raining hard, causing standing water to pool on the road. The standing water was making the car lose traction and started sliding within the lane, it did change its speed or driving to account for the rain. FSD was doing over the speed limit and would not slow down slower than the speed limit. Changing the Tesla speed profile from Standard to Sloth slowed it down t
... o exactly the speed limit but no lower. At this point the car could not maintain its lane, I feared for our safety, so I had to disengage FSD to regain control of the car. Tesla have removed all methods of allowing the driver to maintain accurate speed control of the car and it often ignores speed limit signs, which means it is traveling too slow or too fast for the currently posted speed limit.Read more

1. Component/System: HVAC evaporator core. Total loss of climate control. Vehicle is a 2018 model. Prior to this, it had the known AC condenser defect covered under TSB 19-091. The condenser was repaired under warranty, but the AC loop continued to have underlying issues. Failed evaporator available for inspection. For the 2018 Honda Civic specifically, there are over 600+ total consumer complaint
... s filed with the NHTSA, and the overwhelming majority are dedicated exclusively to the failing air conditioning system. 2. Safety Risk: Immediate safety hazard from extreme environmental exposure. In regional desert temperatures exceeding 115°F-118°F, the complete loss of cabin cooling creates a severe risk of heat exhaustion, dehydration, and heat-induced physical impairment for the driver while operating the vehicle on public roads. Additionally, during high humidity, the system emits a chemical-smelling mist/vapor from the vents causing an acute burning sensation in the driver’s eyes. 3. Reproduced/Confirmed: Yes. Right Honda (Scottsdale, AZ) inspected the vehicle and confirmed the evaporator leak on 07/11/2025. I have also observed the chemical mist/vapor emission, which was corroborated by a witness while driving in California. 4. Inspected by Others: Reviewed by Right Honda service department. Escalated to American Honda Motor Co., Inc. (Case #16391364). Despite 5 years of ownership and previous failures in the same AC loop, the manufacturer refuses to cover the repair of this systemic defect. 5. Warning Lamps/Symptoms: No dashboard warning lamps. Initial symptoms began at ~59,857 miles with a gradual decline in AC performance, degrading to total loss of cooling at idle. Most recently, during high humidity, the system began emitting a chemical-smelling mist from the air vents, which causes a burning sensation in the eyes upon contact.Read more

The all around vehicle camera system fails on average every 6 months. As the dealership is far away in our area, I have to take a 1/2 day to full day off work to take it over. I believe we are now on the third replacement camera module, in need of a fourth that was just replaced less than two months ago. GM makes it unreasonable to deal with. They require you drive over to the dealership just
... so they can see the same problem is occuring and only then will order parts, requiring a second appointment. The problem is the same and this is just adding more time to the failing safety issue which is of major concern because we can't just drop in easily because we are in a remote area. It sometimes takes over a month for me to be able to schedule a time to go over there --- so I go many weeks with a failing camera system.Read more
