I live in south Florida and I can assure you that air conditioning is a safety concern, especially in people like me who have medical conditions in which excessive heat exposure can result in an ER visit. My AC has failed upon starting the car as well as following the rebooting of the Google/Android system. The rebooting of the system must be done whenever the system malfunctions & it is wise to pull off the road to do it because everything but engine shuts down during the procedure. I have had to do this several times sitting off the side of the road & the system still wasn't working. It is not safe to have to pull off road so frequently. The automatic braking was particularly frightening, as both I and the car in front of me were both slowing for a stoplight, there was at least 5 car lengths between us & the distance between us was not narrowing. My car suddenly braked. Had someone been close behind me they would likely have rear-ended my car. They might have also assumed I brake-checked them & reacted with anger. Requested Volvo corporate involvement for 4th repair attempt & IHU was replaced. System began malfunctioning again, but blind spot worked. The Google system is apparently unstable, as the 2nd loaner car's backup camera & cross traffic warning froze & failed to alert. Dates: 9-6-22 to 1-25-23 (date they took car for repair try #5). Many people on Ram forums even in my home town of San Diego are making this same claim. We have the feature on our older Mercedes and it works very nicely and is something we paid a great deal extra for. Stelantis is hiding behind a known issue and both dealers that have tried to diagnose it were told to send the truck home as is. This feature saves lives it's a priority feature. I manually unlocked the driver door, no usual dash indications, opened the hood and found the 12v battery system at 2.9v. It would not start & no responses or indications. I decided to take no chances and replace the 12v battery. I turned the car to the OFF state via the dash push button. The car was never moved out of P park. I left it to go purchase a new 12v battery. I returned 2 hours later with a new battery to find the car in the street and having knocked over my neighbors 700-800 lb brick mail box. A police report was filed, pictures taken, and I jump started the car with the new battery. It started normally and I backed it up under its own power into my driveway where I replaced the 12v battery without incident. The car has operated normally with no warnings or indications of a problem before and since the incident. The car on its own and while OFF, unlocked the transmission park pawl allowing the car to roll 80 feet down a very mild slope and across the street to crash into my neighbor’s mail box when the 12v battery failed. There was no occupant, and no key fob was present. My quick search has found at least 3 other incidents with this same model, where the 12v battery failed and the car, on its own, unlocked the transmission allowing it to roll away. Of the 4 incidents I am aware of, 3 resulted in collisions and property damage. We brought the car to our local BMW service center, and they ran a diagnostic (attached as PDF file). The issue is a faulty EME, which could be as much as an $11K repair. Several model years prior to 2017 i3 have been recalled by BMW for this exact issue. We cannot afford an $11K repair, so hoping BMW will recall 2017 and beyond, as this is a major safety hazard. Thankfully we were stuck in gridlock traffic and were not moving very fast (under 5 miles per hour) when the car stopped. But at a high rate of speed, this could have cause a catastrophic accident. The vehicle was taken to the dealership to find out what was going on for sure. I was then informed that it was possibly the steering wheel lockbox since the dashboard yellow key light is lighting up as well, and that this is a known issue for sure with the 2011 Infiniti G25 and Nissan vehicles. They informed me that the cost would be well over $1500; this is funds that I do not have. I have been stranded while driving stranded on the road multiple times. I needed to be more familiar with my vehicle to troubleshoot the issue, so Hendricks advised me to return. Hendricks again inspected the vehicle. They stated that the driver’s side tire had been over-inflated. I left the dealership to return home. As I was exiting I26 the TPMS monitor again alarmed me. I was surprised to see that it stated that all the tires were low on pressure. I was a short distance from my destination, so I decided to proceed and investigate there as it was dark. At the restaurant, I looked at the tires, which looked perfectly fine and not over or under-inflated. After dinner, I left the restaurant approximately two miles from my house and decided to contact Hendricks in the morning. Nothing was unusual about the car as I turned right into my development. One block into the development is a stop sign. At the stop sign, I turned left to go to my home. As I began to apply the brakes, the car started to alarm, “Brake Failure.” I frantically pumped the brakes, and the CAR DID NOT STOP! It kept going straight right toward our community pool and lake! Straight ahead of me is our community pool and a 300-acre lake (it is a retention pond but calling it that does not overinflate lot prices, so they call it a lake). I have a 1 month old 2023 XC60 T8 phev recharge extended range with 1250 miles on it. I was driving without any issues for the past 1 months. I got a turtle icon with the check engine light on constant when I started driving today. 1.What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? Blind spot sensor repeatedly malfunctioning. Vehicle generates "service required" message, and it appears that blind spot monitors fail to illuminate. Child safety locks also deactivate without driver input. Vehicle is currently available for inspection. 2. Has the problem been reproduced or c

Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? No. 4. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? Drivers side door buttons periodically do not illuminate and do not operate windows or locks. Vehicle cannot be locked at times, or only passenger side doors can be locked. Key fob and manufacturer app only work to lock the vehicle sometimes. Issues began approximately July 2022 and have repeated intermittently. Issues seem to be occurring more frequently and for longer. Issues have been particularly frequent and long lasting in the last week; vehicle last serviced at the dealer approximately 12/22/2022.Read more
