I HAVE BEEN HAVING PROBLEMS WITH MY 2000 VOLVO S80 HESITATING AS IF IT'S NOT GETTING ANY GAS WHEN FIRST BEGINNING TO DRIVE IT EVERYDAY. I HAVE COMPLAINED ABOUT THIS PROBLEM SINCE PURCHASING THIS VEHICLE BUT THE VOLVO REPAIR SHOP HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO FIX THE PROBLEM AND THEY SAY THEY DO NOT KNOW WHAT THE PROBLEM IS. ALSO MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT, STC LIGHT, AND ABS LIGHT KEEPS COMING ON. I HAVE
... ALSO NOTICED THAT WHEN THESE LIGHTS COME ON MY CAR BECOMES HARD TO STEER SOMETIMES. AFTER CHECKING INTO THIS PROBLEM I HAVE FOUND THAT MANY OTHER VOLVO S80 'S BUILT AROUND THE SAME TIME AS MINE ARE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEMS. I HAVE COMPLAINED ABOUT MY CAR SUSPENSION MAKING WEIRD NOISES SINCE HAVING THIS VEHICLE AND THE VOLVO REPAIR SHOP SAYS THEY CAN NOT FIND ANY THING WRONG BUT WHEN ENQUIRING WITH OTHERS WHO OWN VOLVO S80'S, BUILT AROUND THE SAME TIME AS MINE, MANY ARE SAYING THEY ARE HAVING THIS PROBLEM ALSO. THE 2004 C70 HAS MAJOR ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS. WE PURCHASED OUR VEHICLE NEW. SINCE OWNERSHIP THIS CAR HAS BEEN WELL MAINTAINED. OVER THE PAST 14 MONTHS OUR CAR HAS STALLED SIX TIMES AS OF 3-8-06. EACH OCCASION HAS HAPPENED IF THE VEHICLE HASN'T BEEN DRIVEN WITHIN FOUR TO FIVE DAYS. EACH SITUATION HAS BEEN DISCOVERED AFTER ITS SAT OVER-NIGHT. ABOUT A MONTH OR SO LATER THE ETM FAILED. I WAS BEING LEFT STRANDED AT FREEWAY OFF RAMPS, AND GREEN LIGHTS WHEN THE CAR WOULD SUDDENLY DIE. IT'S A MIRACLE I WASN'T REAR-ENDED! AFTER A TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE TRYING TO GET THE DEALERSHIP

THE DEALERSHIP GAVE ME A $5300 ESTIMATE FOR REPLACEMENT AS IT IS UNREPAIRABLE! I TOOK IT TO OUR REGULAR MECHANIC, AND HE TOLD ME THE TRANSMISSION FAILURE @ 70,000 MILES HAPPENED BECAUSE THE ETM WOULDN'T ALLOW THE TORQUE CONVERTER DO WHATEVER IT IS A TORQUE CONVERTER DOES, AND THAT CAUSED THE OIL TO HEAT UP AND THEN THE RESULTING TRANSMISSION FAILURE. HE SAID THERE IS NO ONE AROUND WHO WILL TOUCH MY TRANSMISSION. I HAVE TO USE A DEALER TO REPLACE IT. I AM COMPLETELY DEVASTATED AND CANNOT AFFORD TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION. THE CAR IS A LEMON. THIS SAFETY PROBLEM CAUSED AN ACCIDENT DURING THE WINTER OF 2005. AT THAT TIME, THE ALL WHEEL DRIVE SYSTEM FAILED SUDDENLY AND WITHOUT WARNING ON A SNOW COVERED ROAD. THIS CAUSED SUDDEN AND UNCONTROLLED FRONT WHEEL SPIN WHICH LED TO A LOSS OF VEHICLE CONTROL AND WITH THE VEHICLE SLIDING OFF A ROAD. A TOW TRUCK WAS REQUIRED TO MOVE THE VEHICLE BACK ON THE ROAD. THE VOLVO DEALER THAT CONFIRMED THE PROBLEM HAS MADE SEVERAL FAILED ATTEMPTS TO REPAIR IT. THEY HAVE DOCUMENTED COMMUNICATION PROBLEMS WITHIN THE VEHICLES HIGH SPEED NETWORK AND RELOADED VEHICLE SOFTWARE. THEY HAVE ALSO REPLACED: 1) THE VEHICLES FRONT WHEEL SENSORS, 2) THE MFI MODULE USED FOR VEHICLE DIAGNOSTICS, 3) THE BCM MODULE USED BY THE AWD SYSTEM, AND 4) THE AWD AOC UNIT WITH CLUTCH AND TRANSMISSION. NONE OF THIS HAS RESOLVED THE SAFETY PROBLEMS I AM EXPERIENCING FROM THIS VEHICLE.
