The Balmar alternator is going bad on my 2023 transit on my 2024 Winnebago Ekko. It is starting to whine which in the past leads to a fire in the engine compartment on others units. I read that there is a recall on 2021/2022 Fords with Eco Boost but not the 2020. I have had my vehicle into the dealership multiple times due to misfires and loss of all power which has almost caused multiple accidents on the interstate. I accelerate to get into the left lane and lose all power and do not get power back until my vehicle decelerates down to around 40 mph/or a lower gear, causing s
... emi’s and other vehicles to have to slam on their brakes so that they do no run into the back of me. It idles very roughly and overall has been the worst vehicle mechanically that I have ever owned. The dealerships always say they cannot find anything wrong with it or cannot reproduce it but it happens on a daily basis and keeps getting worse. I have had the transmission updated, changed the cool packs, and changed the plugs which has not helped at all. I want to know why the 2020 Expedition is not included in this recall? This is the most expensive vehicle I have ever purchased and I would expect it to run smoothly with no issues and I am very disappointed. Not only disappointed in the vehicle, but in Ford itself for not acknowledging this issue. I have read many complaints from other customers experiencing the same issues and unable to find a fix for it. I would like some answers and for Ford to make things right with my Expedition. I am not able to trade it in or sell it due to having all the issues that it has and frankly I’m not sure I trust Ford anymore or if I’ll ever buy a Ford product again and we have been faithful Ford owners for years. Thank you for your time and I’ll be looking forward to hearing back from you soon regarding this issue. 8 October 2024 Winnebago Ekko owners are looking for clarification on NHTSA recall 23V-234. The number of owners who have experienced Balmar alternator failure after the recall work is growing. We are among them. A post-recall fire has also been reported (October 6 2024 in Washington State) Manufacturer's response to this situation has been, so far: 1) Replace the alternator at no charge 2)
... Replace the alternator at no charge, with a verbal warning that no more alternators will be furnished free of charge, directing owners to instead contact the component manufacturer (Balmar) for additional relief. Both are unacceptable. The recall was ordered to prevent 1) alternator failure and 2) a potential fire. The recall does neither and the RV manufacturer must be held accountable. Our 23V-234 recall work was completed in February 2024. The alternator failed in June 2024. Yesterday, October 7, the dealer installed a manufacturer-authorized replacement alternator (our fourth, to date, since the RV purchase.) No other work was performed, to our knowledge. We asked the dealer what work the manufacturer was planning to complete to fix the root cause of the alternator failures. Answer: no additional work; only an alternator replacement. Wrong answer. If the manufacturer is planning modifications to address the root cause of multiple alternator failures (and fire risk) the owners have a right to know. To date we have received no indication that any such plan is underway. I am not suggesting they are -not- planning a fix. But we have no indication to the contrary and we have a right to information. In fact we have indications to the contrary. This is not just a major inconvenience (it is - when the alternator fails, it makes everyday life in the RV very challenging.) It's much more than that - it's a fire risk that could impact both life and property. What remedy is the manufacturer planning, and when? Thank you.Read more

New 2025 Pilot with about 3,000 miles, driving in Montana on a level dusty gravel road at about 5,000 feet altitude. I shut OFF the engine, waited 10 minutes, started engine again and WARNINGS still active. Shut OFF engine and waited 20 minutes. Restarted engine and looked like warning were starting to clear, and steering and brakes felt normal again. With no WARNINGS showing I drove very slowly for many miles with no further occurrences. I just purchased a 2011 Mercedes C300. I was told that for the past 2-3 years the vehicle would constantly bald out the rear 2 tires and would need replaced every 3 months. Upon further investigation the rear sub frame is rotted, which based on research appears to be a very common pro

The rear sub frame is rotted in which caused the lower control arms to completely rot off of the frame posing as a serious safety issue for me when driving with my children and a safety issues for others when I drive on the road. On top of that due to the lower control arms completely rotting off the frame it caused the control arms to hit the gas tank which could catch the car on fire. Mercedes has refused to issue this as a recall in due part to their negligence. Customers cannot afford to pay $5000 for a rotted subframe due to negligence from Mercedes. Please research how many vehicles have had rotted subframes for this vehicle. In Germany they will repair the rotted subframe free of charge.
