The A/C on our 24E/24T EKKO stopped working today, October 13, on old Route 66 in Oklahoma. The ICM870-16A-BH5400 easy start circuit board was fried. A portion of the circuit board had melted and the brown wire was loose and the connector melted. The ICM cover fell loose when I removed the GE A/C cover. See the attached photos. The ICM870-16A-BH5400 is included in GE Kit GEASST-1. The BH540
... 0 suffix is unique to the GE sourced easy start. This may not be important, but upon inspection, using ICM680 installation instructions on-line (see attached), I noticed that the red and white/blue wires from the ICM controller were switched on the run capacitor H and C terminals. I assumed that the wire colors shown on the installation wiring diagrams are the same for all ICM680 controllers and all applications. If the installations are the same for all ICM680 controllers, then the red wire from the ICM controller is to be connected to the run capacitor on the C post. On our unit, the red wire is connected to the run capacitor H post and the white wire is connected to the C capacitor post. The wiring diagram on the blackened ICM cover, shows the red wire attached to the capacitor H post (also attached to the motor S post) and the white wire to the C post. As a reference, I am attaching the ICM680 installation instruction wiring diagrams found on web as well as written instructions. I could NOT find a wiring diagram like what is shown on our blackened ICM cover with the red wire attached to the H post. The QR Code for online installations on our blackened ICM680 cover resulted in a 404 Not Found notice. I called ICM technical service but could not leave a message as the voice mailbox was full. No serial number could be found on the ICM box. See the attached photos of the fried controller and the ISM wires attached to the run capacitor with the red and white wires reversed from what is shown on the wiring diagrams.Read more

On [XXX], after driving on a rainy day (with a flood warning reported by NWS), I noticed a strong burning smell in the garage the next day, and my car wouldn’t start. Unable to get it running, I had it towed to a nearby repair shop, where they found burn marks on the starter and starter harness. The repair costs were significant, so I filed a claim with my insurance under my comprehensive covera
... ge. The following day, the insurance adjuster informed me that Hyundai had issued a recall (RECALL 254, 24V 107000) related to my issue and advised me to take the vehicle to Hyundai for repair. I had the car towed to the Hyundai dealer in Cumming. However, after diagnosing the vehicle, Hyundai of Cumming stated that it was not subject to the recall. I believe this incident is clearly part of the recall, as shown in the attached photos from the local repair shop. Since Hyundai of Cumming claimed it wasn’t covered, my insurance company requested a detailed explanation and additional photos, but Hyundai of Cumming has been unresponsive for over a month. I reached out to Hyundai Motor USA, but they simply provided the same information as Hyundai of Cumming, without any investigation. During this process, I incurred nearly $1,000 for a rental car, which was a significant expense for me. Two months after the incident, Hyundai of Cumming offered me two options: A) Pay out of pocket for repairs, or B) Remove the vehicle from their shop. Since the car wouldn’t start, I had no choice but to pay for the repairs. I finally got my vehicle back on October 19, 2024, three months after the incident, with total costs around $6,000, including the rental. I still don’t understand why Hyundai of Cumming believes this burned starter solenoid incident is not part of the recall. As a typical customer, I feel powerless against this large corporation, despite knowing this issue should be covered. If you need anything else from me, please feel free to reach out anytime. There have been recent reports of Tesla FSD accidents that are now under investigation by NHTSA relating to crashes that occurred under difficult visibility conditions. A video I recorded several years ago while driving into a fog bank in NW Washington, about an hour North of Seattle, is linked below. Seeing the fog bank ahead and with no traffic in front or close behind me, I let the car proceed
... into the fog until the system triggered a takeover alarm. Usually, at this point several years ago, when the driver wanted to disengage FSD, the driver did so by raising the gear selection stalk. Raising the gear stalk disengaged TACC ONLY in this incident, and Autosteering remained active. (see: [XXX] ) After disengaging TACC, the car was slowed by regenerative braking but still under Autosteering control. Turning the steering wheel finally disengaged Autosteering, but that occurred second and was delayed by the driver's confusion over why raising the gear stalk wasn't enough to stop the alarm. Applying the brakes would have disengaged FSD completely - but that wasn't wise with low visibility. I tried re-engaging FSD briefly while still in fog (not shown in this video), and the system refused. This brings to mind a previous documentation video where, with FSD engaged, turning the wheel disengaged *Autosteering, but *TACC remained active. Again, the driver was not initially cognizant that TACC was still active (see: [XXX] ). I believe a subsequent recall remedied this 2nd example, but perhaps the fog bank-type takeover alarm was not affected by that recall remedy. Finally, I have one more video documenting the ability of FSD to see under challenging conditions, in this case, light rain, heavy rain, and eventually hail. No alarms were triggered (see: [XXX] ). Note: I no longer own the vehicle associated with this VIN. See the firmware version shown in the video for approximate dates of these occurrences. This vehicle was advertised as having the Super Cruise feature along with "following distance indicator", "forward collision alert", "lane keep assist with lane departure warning" and "intellibeam" (auto headlamp dimming feature). We purchased the vehicle expecting all of these to function. When we took delivery and went on our drive with the salesman so he could explain all the features, we found

We thought maybe we were trying to engage it incorrectly, so the salesman advised he would check into it the next day (we took delivery after regular service hours) and get back to us. We took the vehicle home. Upon driving the next several days, the Forward Collision Alert malfunction indicator light came on in the driver information center. We had made an appointment and took the vehicle to the dealer. We were advised that bulletin #PIT6167A was issued by GM on 6/20/2024 stating "Super Cruise Unavailable" and it was a known problem and at the time there was no fix. We were advised by the Dealer that the issue was a software engineering issue that GM does not have a solution for repair. GM allowed this vehicle to be sold knowing that the Automatic Driver Assist (ADAS) safety systems on this vehicle would not function at all. We knew the Adaptive Cruise Control and the Super Cruise systems would not work, but we found out on the road in the dark that the "Intellibeam" system was not working when oncoming traffic started flashing their bright lights. This was a safety concern. This was very irresponsible of GM to sell these vehicles with ADAS issues. How did this vehicle pass the quality control process at the factory? Research shows there are other models affected. Today I learned that there is a newer version of the GM service bulletin (new number is PIT6167C) that states there is still no repair process for the Super Cruise (and other affected ADAS systems) available yet.
