This car and many others like it have excessive oil consumption, smoking. I'm told it's a cylinder head which may or may not be covered under warranty if they can ever get a replacement. There are currently 4 waiting on heads or engines at my dealer with no eta on the backordered part. In the mean time I'm stuck with a partially functional car I can't get rid of because of the problem.

In the event of an accident, the automatic emergency call will not show the proper location of the vehicle making any first responder assistance impossible. DRLs are simultaneously going out in my not quite 4 year old car. I’m currently at 90k miles. It is available for inspection upon request.. There were no warning lamps. This was discovered on inspection in January 2026. The VW dealership in Bakersfield, CA and the VW dealership in Oklahoma City, OK inspected and found the same issue.

My car windshield as cracked where the rearview mirror attaches. The crack is approximately 10 inches long. This was not caused by road debris or a small pebble.
