While driving on highway, 3 hours away from home, all of a sudden van slowed down and jerking and shaking with loud grinding movement sound from the van started. No warning sign displayed on the dashboard display screen and no warning alert either. Luckily got out of the exit and parked the van. Van was not going beyond first gear and jerking and shaking and making loud grinding sound. Van was
... not drivable safely. Towed to the local Honda dealership which was 30 miles away. Dealership checked the Van and diagnosed that the 10 speed Automatic transmission has failed and need a new transmission now. There is no warning sign or error on the dashboard display and any warning alert even after this incident happened. I am very disappointed that such an expensive van has no good warning sing or alert system for transmission failure, even though vehicle has computer to monitor every small thing but no good warning system for most expensive automatic Transmission system. This is total lack of care and failure on the part of manufacturer Honda, which did not put some good warning system on these defective automatic transmissions. These sudden failures can cause catastrophic accidents on the highways and roads. This sudden failure of transmission should have been a recall for defective manufacturing of 10 speed automatic transmission in Honda Odyssey van.Read more

I purchased my 2023 Santa Fe brand new off the show room floor in Jan 2024. After about 6k miles when braking on the highway the entire vehicle would shudder and shake including the steering wheel. I took it into the dealership where I was informed this is a KNOWN ISSUE with this year/make/model with the rotors. They claimed they would turn the rotors but if the issue persists they would replace t
... hem. About 2k miles later (apx 2 months) the shuddering happened AGAIN. So I made an apt to get them replaced where the new service tech tried to tell me again this is a KNOWN ISSUE but now I would be responsible for a $250 replacement of the rotors. I refused to pay as they are within the 12k or 1 year warranty and they refused to replace them. That service tech also said the day prior he had to deliver that news to 4 OTHER patrons about the replacement of their rotors. I feel extremely unsafe in this vehicle and the issue is still not fixed as I have a claim in process with the manufacture directly. The claim was put in on 12/7/24 where I was told I would be contacted within 2-3 BUSINESS DAYS by a manager due to my claim being escalated. It is now 12/15/24 and still NO CONTACT from Hyundai. The vehicle shuddering is increasingly worse and worse and I feel very unsafe in this suv.Read more

Based on extensive research and the replacement of the factory amplifier, I’m assuming that the component that’s failing is the head unit for the radio. It unpredictably makes this loud static noise come out the speakers that cannot be turned down or off even when the audio power is off. This is a risk to my and other drivers’ safety due to the volume of this noise and the fact I cannot do a

The static noise is so loud that I can’t even hear a horn honking at me and can barely hear emergency vehicles. The problem is hard to reproduce as the static happens unpredictably but I’ve taken it to an audio repair shop and we were able to produce the static noise after about 10 minutes of music playing. This component has apparently been complained about by many people having the same issue as me yet Honda is not recalling or owning up to this failure. I have yet to take it to a Honda dealership to have it inspected but from other’s experience they’ve mentioned that the technicians said nothing can be done but replacing the entire head unit for about $1000. There were no warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure. This problem first appeared about 6 months ago. I don’t understand why so many people are having this issue yet the part has not been recalled yet. PLEASE recall the head unit of 2016-2017 honda accords.Read more

Similar to the 10-14 f150 recall for the 6r80 transmission lead frame failure. Driving down the freeway at speeds of 50-70 in 6th gear truck has down shifted into first causing loss of control. Transmission then disengages entirely and loses power mid driving. After turning truck off and waiting, starting the truck it returns to normal. failing speed sensor and lead frame are the cause in this tr
... ansmission from Ford called the 6R80 in year models 10-19 however recalls were only ever issues for the 10-14 generation for repairs of less than 10 years of age or 150,000 miles. My truck is the generation after, a 2017 model with 146,000 miles. Truck is currently at Ford for repairs and diagnostics. In the most recent event with the truck shifting from 6th gear to 1st yesterday I was in heavy traffic and when I lost control of truck I had to "sweep" to the side of road / ditch to avoid collision with vehicles behind and beside me at speeds of 65-75. I believe the year models 15-19 should be included on the existing recall if equiped with the 6 speed automatic transmission being the fact they were built and manufactured with the same failing parts before the current recall was put in place a few months ago according to online sources. Fortunately I was safe in all 3 incidents but yesterdays close call has forced my hand in "parking" the truck until Ford can repair any malfunctioning parts. If a recall is placed after my trucks repair it would be nice to have compensation for this bill. Truck has had scheduled maintenance including transmission on or before owners manual recommendations at designated Ford dealers other than oil and brake changes which I do myself at home. Please consider the 6R80 transmission as a point of recall for all models not just earlier generations as most of these trucks may not have the mileage yet needed to have serious mechanical failure. In which some failures can have trucks towing loads than can cause serious crash events.Read more

On the morning of December 11th, 2024, the brake system warning light (ABS, yellow) illuminated on the dashboard along with the red BRAKE indicator and the yellow Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) system light. I consulted a mechanic who performed a computer diagnostic and informed me that the ABS module booster had failed. He said that will order the part to change it but meanwhile he advised me to
... drive more cautiously and maintain a greater distance from the vehicle ahead, allowing extra space for my car to stop due to the increased braking distance caused by the failed ABS module booster. Later that day, at approximately 5:30 PM, I was driving home in heavy traffic, with speeds not exceeding 40 miles per hour. The vehicle in front of me began to decelerate abruptly. When I applied firm pressure to the brake pedal to slow down my car, it lost all control. The vehicle began to skid, with the amplitude of the skid increasing progressively. It struck the highway guardrail on the left, changed trajectory, crossed all four lanes to the right uncontrollably, and ultimately collided with the highway guardrail on the right side.Read more

Issue: engine and electric system completely shut off randomly while vehicle is driving. Cannot reliably reproduce, but all electric is lost and engine shuts off or at best resets in low gear until things come back alive. This has happened about 4 times to me across two batteries. What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? The system is blam
... ing the "battery current sensor" and I believe it is the system that controls the "dynamic" alternator system. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? The vehicle loses all power and lighting. This causes me to pull over without power steering and power brakes. This could happen at any time Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? The dealer has read the code but refuses to work on it without a brand new OEM battery. This first occurred with an OEM battery, and I replaced with one and the problem still happens. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? Only the dealership, who was useless. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? No indicators the driver would be able to see. The check engine light is NOT on. When scanned via the OBD2 sensor, the Nissan specific code is thrown, but you obviously have to have the correct tool to see this.Read more
