Transmission delay in shifting and or jerking while shifting through gears. Was travelling at highway speeds in 10 gear and my transmission lost power. Could not accelerate at all transmission was non responsive for a couple seconds while showing it was in 1st gear. This happened a couple more times at lower speeds from 7th gear and downshifted automatically to 1st cutting off any power to transmi
... ssion. I had made a left turn and vehicle stalled from transmission not accelerating at all and hesitated and jerked into 4th gear. Downshifting and upshifting is delayed affecting the driveability of the vehicle. Vehicle only has 63k miles on it no prior transmission issues at all. I took it into Ford dealership and they said heave seen problems like this with this vehicle in the past and right about where my mileage was at too. Ford says I need a new transmission but cannot diagnose what exactly is wrong with the transmission. Their option they gave me was $6700 to open up transmission and replace parts but the price doesn't include parts or a new transmission at $8100. In doing a little research online there appears to be a major concern with Ford/GM over the 10 speed 10r80 transmission I have. I have 3 children and do not trust driving the vehicle as the driveability of vehicle is a safety hazard and believe it's due to Ford knowingly that there are concerns over the transmission and not willing to do anything to fix their engineering issues with the transmission. The highway speed that i explained could have resulted in a crash or worse, someone getting hurt.Read more

What happened with your engine? My engine malfunctioned unexpectedly at just 79,000 miles, despite no history of major engine problems. The final diagnosis showed a blown head gasket. Were there any warning signs beforehand? Yes—about two to three weeks before the malfunction, I received multiple cylinder misfire codes and a low coolant warning. I had both issues checked out and believed they w
... ere resolved at the time, as the car was running fine afterward. Did the car stop running completely? Yes. After everything seemed okay for a bit, the car suddenly wouldn’t start. We ruled out the battery, as it had already been tested and was functioning correctly. Were there other warning lights or concerns? Yes. Right before a planned trip, my tire pressure light came on. I had it checked and everything looked fine. After about 10 miles, the light turned off, but it began flashing again intermittently, along with the engine light, even after restarting the car multiple times. What was the final outcome? After further inspection, it was confirmed that the root issue was a blown head gasket, which led to the engine failure.Read more

Good afternoon. Our rental car we picked up from the Denver International Airport on [XXX] had numerous incidents of emergent braking at highway and non highway speeds which were reported to Sixt ( car rental) and documented on the dates in which they occurred, [XXX] (7-8 occurrences ) and [XXX] (3 occurrences-2 after a car wash). On the day in which the first occurrences happened, the car rental
... company representative from Sixt, 3way connected me with a mechanic from Annex who advised washing the vehicle to ensure the sensors were clean. I did proceed to wash the vehicle on 1.25.25. This same company, Annex Automotive, then evaluated the vehicle on 1.29.25 after emergency breaking occurrences continued of which [XXX] was the worst. On [XXX] there were no vehicles in front of or behind us nor to the sides of us and the roads were completely clear. It was also dark out. Attached you will find evaluation with validation there is a mechanical concern with the vehicle. On [XXX] the extremely unsafe occurrence of emergent braking occurred with skidding tires and the doors locking and unlocking at the same time occurred. This vehicle was completely unsafe to drive. I, as well as my passengers/family, are very lucky the road conditions were moderate on [XXX] and clear on [XXX], or these emergency Breaking issues could have caused a serious accident. There were a total of five of us in the vehicle when all of these occurred. I am from Minnesota and have a Yukon XL so I am comfortable with this vehicle This was the scariest vehicle experience I have ever encountered. The company did tow the vehicle on 1.29.25. My rear passenger sliding door lock is stuck in the unlock position. My concern is my van is at all times unlocked. Also since it won’t lock at all even when I’m driving is that anyone could approach my van while I’m at a light or a parking lot and get inside. My biggest fear is that since it won’t lock it will just pop open one day while I’m driving. My grandchildren or my dogs could be
... severely injured if this happened. I’ve read online about this being an issue with the Dodge GCV. People suggested writing to you and try to get a recall done for this issue. The dealer wants around $1100 to fix problem. I don’t have that kind of money to spend. My other issue is if I disconnect the cable so I can lock the door is what if my passengers or animals need to get out of back of van in a emergency their going to be trapped back there. Also unrelated to the lock issues. My van is having a hard time shifting and has cut out multiple times on me. And when I turn on my blinkers it turns on the wipers. On three separate occasions while driving in moderate stop-and-go traffic, I experienced an intermittent issue with my braking system. I was unable to fully depress the brake pedal. The grinding sound was similar to what you might hear when there’s surface rust on the brakes in the morning, but it was coming from the br

I also felt feedback in the pedal during these instances, even though the issue did not appear to be related to the brake pads or rotors. This reduced my ability to brake effectively, and although I have not been involved in a crash, the safety of myself and those around me on the road was potentially in jeapordy. The issue is sporadic and does not trigger any dashboard warning lights.Read more

My pregnant wife is parking her car at her work when she accidentally step on the gas pedal instead of the brakes. She panicked and she drove all the way to the wall. Airbags were not activated. 911 was dispatched. Police report made. Only minor injury finger fracture and chest bruise. There was a severe frontal damage to the car. Insurance deemed it totaled due to frame damage. I also complained
... to Toyota. They hired a software engineer to investigate. Just received official letter from Toyota there weee no defects in their safety system. The issues are the airbags not being deployed at the time of impact and pre collision auto braking non existent. The impact on the wall according to the people inside the nursing she works felt like an earthquake inside. But our main concern is the auto brake feature did not function. This accident could have been worse. Good thing seatbelt was not an inch lower from her chest preventing injury to our unborn child. The impact could have been worse if it was made of wood and could have injured other people in the nursing home. The auto brake feature should have worked because there were many obstacles at her front including first the bushes and eventually the wall. Their response letter is frustrating for us because they are claiming there were no problems in the car. But our concern is their safety system is not reliable compare to other car companies. To Whom It May Concern, I am writing to formally report a recurring water intrusion issue with my vehicle, which poses a potential safety risk. Whenever it rains and the vehicle is parked outside, water consistently leaks into the passenger-side interior. While driving, especially during acceleration or braking, I can hear the sound of water moving within the passenger side area. Upon inspection,
... I have found water pooling in the front passenger footwell, where multiple electrical wires are located. Additionally, there is an electrical control box situated beneath the passenger seat that may also be exposed to moisture. I also discovered water leaking behind the rear seat area. This section contains two air vents, which may be contributing to the issue. The water intrusion raises serious concerns about electrical system integrity, especially given the presence of wiring and components in affected areas. Although my vehicle has not yet experienced electrical failure while driving, I am aware of multiple reports from other owners who have encountered similar leaks that led to sudden engine shutdowns, including while driving in traffic — a serious safety hazard. I brought my vehicle to the service center for evaluation, but as of now, I have not received any resolution or updates regarding a fix. I have several videos of the situation as well. Given the potential risk to both vehicle occupants and others on the road, I respectfully request that the NHTSA investigate this matter further to determine whether a recall or other safety action is warranted. Thank you for your attention to this serious issue.Read more

While driving westbound on Lee Jackson Memorial Highway (U.S. Route 50) after passing the intersection with Stonecroft Boulevard in Chantilly, Virginia, the Autopilot system on my Tesla Model Y malfunctioned. Without any warning or obstacle in my lane, the vehicle suddenly and sharply veered to the right, directly toward two vehicles traveling in the adjacent lane. I was holding the steering wheel
... at the time and was able to immediately countersteer to prevent a collision. There were no audible or visual warnings from the vehicle before or during the incident. The Autopilot system did not display any messages or alerts, and no braking or turn signal was engaged by the system. The lane shift was abrupt and uncommanded. The dashcam footage clearly captured the incident, and it is available for inspection upon request. To my knowledge, the issue has not yet been reproduced or inspected by the manufacturer or service center. The vehicle has not been examined by police, insurance representatives, or others at this time. This unexpected maneuver created a serious safety risk for myself and nearby drivers.Read more
