Despite maintaining the vehicle according to the recommended schedule, I have encountered ongoing performance issues (electrical, rear shocks, fan motor etc.) that are not in line with the standard of quality I expect from a brand of your reputation. To address my concerns, I spoke with a Mercedes-Benz representative who informed me that, due to the problems I’ve experienced, I may be eligible for either an extended warranty or a credit toward the purchase of a new vehicle. After careful consideration, I opted for the extended warranty. However, I was later informed that this option had not been approved—despite it initially being presented as available. This contradiction is both confusing and frustrating, and it has significantly diminished my confidence in the customer service process.Read more

I was driving my 2021 Volkswagen ID.4 Pro S on March 12, 2025, in Baltimore, Maryland, when I was involved in a motor vehicle accident. Although I maintained an adequate stopping distance from the truck in front of me, my forward collision warning, lane departure warning, and lane keeping assistance systems suddenly activated, causing my vehicle to make contact with the truck. My safety—and the
... safety of others—was compromised. My vehicle sustained front-end damage. This was not the first time these systems engaged without cause. I took my vehicle to Heritage Volkswagen Parkville (located in Carney, Maryland) due to unresolved recalls and these irregular system behaviors. The dealership claims that Volkswagen requires me to replace the tires, align the wheels, and install a new 12V battery before completing the recall work or troubleshooting the issue. I informed the service manager that the vehicle is unsafe to drive and that, under federal law, the dealership is obligated to complete the recall. He responded that the recall work cannot proceed until the tire replacement, alignment, and battery installation are completed. As of June 23, 2025, my vehicle remains at the dealership. I have unsuccessfully attempted to reach VW’s Customer CARE department. The vehicle is not safe. I believe VW is at fault.Read more

Shortly after starting my vehicle and driving out of my neighborhood, there are a series of stop signs. The roadway is at a slight incline. Two cylinders have compression under 30-35. I initially had no options other than to trade or sell a lemon or replace the engine. I still owe over $7500 on a vehicle that doesn’t run. On 7 or 8 occasions while navigating parking lots/driveway turnaround, i bumped the resume switch on the steering wheel and the truck took off accelerating rapidly from 2-4 mph speed until I disengaged with the brake. Someone with slower reactions or unaware of what is going on is going to get hurt by this. I believe it's tied to collision avoidance system and the adaptive cruise control mode. T
... his system will allow cruise to stay engaged even as it slows you to a halt in, e.g. a rush hour slowdown, but if it slows you to some speed just greater than zero, and the traffic ahead speeds up, it will speed back up to the cruise setting. Similarly, when cruise is disengaged by brake action, but there is still a stored value in cruise control, if you accidentally hit resume at slow speeds the logic is treating it like a traffic situation. So the old 20 or 25mph minimum engagement speed no longer applies. As for why I inadvertently hit resume, it has to do with the raised momentary rocker switch at the 9 oclock position on the steering wheel. If you make a turn with your palm against steering wheel. For example, on a left turn, if the wheel is turning counterclockwise and your left palm is in the 9 o'clock position, it can rub against the raised cruise control rocker triggering the resume function, and off she will go! A flush or recessed button/switch would have been a better choice here. At this point, a software change would be the best solution to ignore the resume function below a certain speed.Read more

The issue appears to involve the CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) system or the transmission fluid/lubricant pump. The vehicle jerks or hesitates when accelerating from a stop, as if struggling to shift properly. The check engine light comes on repeatedly. This issue is ongoing, and the vehicle is available for inspection upon request. The jerking and hesitation when trying to drive, espec
... ially from a stop or when merging into traffic, poses a safety risk to myself and others. The delayed or unpredictable response could easily lead to an accident in high-traffic areas, intersections, or when making turns. Yes. The issue has been observed multiple times. The check engine light has returned even after replacing the O2 sensors, and a trusted mechanic believes the problem may be transmission-related. However, the Kia dealership claims there are no active recalls tied to my VIN, even though publicly available information lists powertrain- and fluid pump-related recalls for my vehicle's year and model. The vehicle has not yet been inspected by Kia corporate. I reached out to the local dealer, who denied any applicable recall. I am submitting this complaint in hopes of an official review and inspection by the manufacturer or NHTSA to determine if the issue qualifies for safety recall intervention. Yes. The check engine light first appeared months ago, which led to replacement of the O2 sensors.
