I am filing a complaint concerning serious safety risks associated with my 2020 Audi Q7 (VIN: [XXX] ) purchased as a Certified Pre-Owned vehicle from Audi Dominion San Antonio. It is currently under service at Audi Central Houston, where multiple concerning events occurred. Timeline and Issues: - Initial diagnosis identified a fire-damaged electrical harness, estimated at $1,400 for replacement. -
... After repair attempts, the vehicle began smoking, and the diagnosis expanded to include additional compromised electrical lines. The revised quote skyrocketed to $4,700 (later reduced to $3,100). - After nearly two months in service, I was informed that the AC compressor is now deemed "bad" due to debris from the harness, an issue not mentioned in previous inspections. Safety Concerns: 1. Inconsistent Diagnosis: There was no mention of compressor damage during initial assessments. This late-stage discovery indicates negligence or potential additional damage during servicing. 2. Risky AC Activation: A technician attempted to clean the compromised AC compressor and activated the system, a procedure that is dangerous given the debris. This could lead to refrigerant leaks and electrical shorts. 3. Conflicting Statements: Audi Central Houston claims the compressor was previously damaged but also attempted to restore it. Such contradictions raise serious concerns about service integrity. 4. Certified Pre-Owned Credibility: The emergence of these costly issues questions the reliability guarantees of vehicles sold under Audi's Certified Pre-Owned program. Given that the vehicle began smoking shortly after being parked and had not undergone prior electrical work, I underscore the severe safety risks posed by potential electrical fires and undisclosed damage. These issues could endanger lives and property if not properly addressed. I strongly urge Audi USA and the NHTSA to investigate this matter for potential technical service bulletins or recalls, especially fo INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ARead more

The vehicle is experiencing multiple active safety system failures, severely impacting driver control and passenger protection. The most critical issue is a persistent SRS airbag malfunction warning, along with the system failing to detect that the seatbelt is buckled, even when properly latched. This disables key safety systems such as airbags and seatbelt pretensioners. The vehicle also suffer
... s from delayed or weak braking response, despite having adequate brake pad wear. This is especially dangerous in stop-and-go traffic or emergency braking scenarios. In addition, the adaptive cruise control system intermittently disengages or fails to maintain distance, and the brake hold feature does not reliably hold the vehicle when stopped, causing rollback or unintended movement. These issues are consistent with known failure conditions already documented in the following recalls: – NHTSA Recall 21V-890 – Brake booster vacuum pump failure – NHTSA Recall 19V567000 – Occupant Classification System calibration error However, Toyota has refused to acknowledge these defects in this case because the vehicle does not fall under the original recall VIN ranges. This creates a serious safety concern, as the same defective behavior exists outside the recalled population, and is being left unaddressed. This not only places me at risk of airbag and braking failure, but puts other drivers and pedestrians at great danger due to the potential for system failure during high-risk moments such as highway driving, stoplight braking, or crash avoidance maneuvers. A broader investigation into the root cause and expansion of the affected VIN scope is urgently needed before serious injury or loss of life occursRead more

I am leasing a 2024 Tesla Cybertruck and have experienced multiple serious and unresolved safety issues. When driving at speeds of 50–60 mph or higher, the Cybertruck begins to shake aggressively, particularly in the front wheels. The vibration makes it difficult to maintain control. I took it to the Tesla dealership, and service staff confirmed there is a known malfunction with the Cybertruck t
... ires. They informed me they are waiting on new tires to arrive, but offered no timeline and sent me home with the issue unresolved. No loaner vehicle was offered, no workaround was provided, and I am still driving a vehicle Tesla knows is defective. In addition, the rear windows malfunction frequently. When I close the rear doors, the windows often jam or freeze. This concerns me because the Cybertruck is built entirely with electronic door systems—there are no manual overrides. If power is lost during a crash, occupants may not be able to exit. This is even more alarming in light of recent reports of Cybertruck-related deaths. Multiple individuals have died in crashes where the battery was damaged or the vehicle caught fire. Power loss caused the doors and windows to become non-functional, and due to Tesla’s armored glass, bystanders couldn’t break the windows to rescue the victims. These people burned alive while trapped inside. This is not a theoretical issue—it has happened. Despite these risks, Tesla has not issued a recall or urgent fix. I’ve made multiple efforts to resolve these problems, but Tesla’s delays, denials, and lack of proactive safety measures are deeply negligent. This is a dangerous vehicle, and I am requesting that NHTSA immediately investigate both the front-end tire instability and the entrapment risk caused by electric-only doors and unbreakable windows. I no longer feel safe driving this Cybertruck and believe others are also at serious risk.Read more

In mid-2024, the vehicle experienced a flashing check engine light. I brought it to Murfreesboro Hyundai (TN), where they confirmed the oil was low and started an oil consumption test. A bearing clearance test (BCT) was also performed and passed. After back-and-forth over several weeks, I was told the oil consumption was within spec, but the dealership stated Hyundai would cover all necessary repa
... irs, including a combustion chamber cleaning, under warranty. I was told this work was completed and the vehicle was returned to me. In July 2025, the exact same flashing CEL returned. I brought the car back to the same dealership, where they again found the oil was 2.5 quarts low. However, this time they claimed no previous combustion cleaning or repairs had been done, and that I would now need to pay over $1,100 out of pocket for the same cleaning that was supposedly already performed — and which they had told me would be covered under warranty. This indicates that the dealership misrepresented completed service work, failed to address a recurring defect, and is now trying to shift the financial burden to me. Hyundai’s claim that oil consumption is not “high enough” to warrant coverage is concerning, especially when the condition continues to damage the engine and cause driveability issues. This appears to be part of a broader known defect affecting Hyundai 2.0L engines. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate Hyundai’s handling of oil consumption, engine misfire, and warranty practices related to the 2018 Elantra GT and similar models.Read more

The failure occurred in the sidewalls of the two factory‑supplied all‑season tires on the passenger‑side (front and rear) of my 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe. Both tires exhibit pronounced bulges on the outer sidewall of the front passenger tire. Tire size is 255/45 R20 105V M+S The rear OEM tire was replaced on February 10, 2025 and front OEM tire (with DOT codes visible) remain mounted on the v
... ehicle, but I must replace it to keep the vehicle operational. I noticed the bulging of the second tire today, July 29, 2025. Sidewall bulges indicate internal cord separation. A sudden loss of air pressure or blowout—especially at highway speeds—could result in rapid vehicle instability, loss of control, and a potentially serious crash, endangering occupants and other road users. No, the problem has yet to be inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance or others. However there is mounting conserns and simular reports of the same problem occurring with other owners of 2024 Hyundai SantaFes with the same OEM tire. No warning lamps, messages or other symptons prior to the problem occuring. There has been no off‑road use, curb impacts, overloading, or manufacturing advisories at the time of discovery. My best assessment is a potential manufacturing or design defect in the OEM tire sidewall construction causing premature internal separation under normal use.Read more

While driving on the freeway at 75 mph my vacuum pump seized and shattered, causing me to loose all breaking power, damaging my engine beyond repair and endangering my life and numerous other drivers on the road. There is a current recall on the particular year, make and model for this issue but my VIN is not included so the dealership refuses to fix the issue.

This is a safety concern: 2025 Toyota Corolla cross with no damage history and happening since brand new. 1) Lane keeping: there are 2 types, one with cruise control and one without. For the one with cruise control, the system has a hard time tracking center and shoulder lines and OFTEN pulls in the wrong direction. This is ESPECIALLY true in certain circumstances and the vehicle has almost caused
... a collision several times, with both the owner and other Toyota-experienced drivers, necessitating turning off this feature. When the road is a rural one, without center or shoulder lines, the car OFTEN pulls (“assists” or “corrects”) in the wrong direction and twice has pulled the offending vehicle onto the soft curb. Dealer reviewed it and noted this is expected behavior, they recommended turning it off. This is less common on roads with white and yellow lines, but DOES happen if the vehicle is driven too close to the white line and the vehicle sometimes pulls towards the shoulder. 2) Auto-braking. Often when going around a curved turn from 30-55 MPH, the brakes sometimes deploy (usually without aural warning.) This is usually with a left curve, while driving in the right lane. Service manager drove the vehicle and thought this aberrant but tech AND Toyota rep noted this was expected behavior, Several times these safety features have caused near rear-end collisions and off-road incidents and COULD cause a head-on . Dealer recommendation is to simply turn it off.Read more
