While driving at approximately 70 mph on I-76 , a “CVT HOT” warning appeared on the dashboard. Immediately after, the vehicle lost power and would not accelerate normally, creating a safety hazard in traffic. I was forced to pull over multiple times. This issue began after a recall repair was performed on the vehicle. The condition resolved temporarily after shutting the vehicle off, but the f
... ailure was sudden and dangerous. While driving, multiple warning messages appeared including AWD system errors and check engine light. The vehicle’s performance became unstable and unreliable. This created concern about loss of control and drivability. The vehicle had recently undergone recall service, after which these issues began occurring intermittently. The vehicle was brought to an authorized Nissan dealership multiple for diagnosis of the CVT warning, AWD errors, and loss of power. The dealership kept the vehicle for several hours on multiple occasions but stated they were unable to replicate the issue. No repair was performed any of the times. The safety concern remains unresolved. This continually happens and they yell at me saying there's nothing they could do. To be direct: I am aware that “unable to replicate” is often used to avoid opening warranty claims or authorizing costly repairs. However, this does not resolve the issue, nor does it eliminate the safety risk. The vehicle is demonstrably unsafe when the failure occurs, and the burden should not be shifted onto the customer simply because the issue is intermittent.Read more

Issue 1: Complete transmission failure was diagnosed by Subaru dealer March 24, 2026 at 5 years and 6 months after purchase with an odometer reading of 45,000 miles (drive train warranty 5 yrs/60,000 miles). Had to purchase and have installed a rebuilt Subaru transmission. First noticed transmission was slipping with a large load in vehicle May 2025 at 4 years and 8 months after purchase at a
... bout 40,000 miles on odometer. The issue was subsequently not noticed under typical load until slipping transmission signs reappeared December 2025. Made appointment in March 2026 due to a planned trip to [XXX] mid-February to mid-March. Failed transmission poses critical safety risks including loss of acceleration, stalling in traffic and unexpected deceleration. Subaru of New England was able to install the transmission at about 50% of the initial estimate over $12,000 (final paid $5400). Subaru of America file was claimed (Case # XXX-XXX) for the balance, but any further reimbursement was rejected. Issue 2: Driver window alternating between getting stuck fully opened as well as reversing to the open position when trying to roll up. The failure of window regulator and channel run was diagnosed by Subaru dealer March 24, 2026 at 5 years and 6 months after purchase with an odometer reading of 45,000 miles. Had to purchase and replace the Subaru window regulator and channel run. Power window failures in the open position create significant safety risks including vehicle theft, interior damage from weather and occupant vulnerability. At 138,000 miles my 2019 Toyota Highlander's transmission failed. I noticed a whining sound when I pushed on the accelerator, so I scheduled a service appointment to have it looked at. The day I brought it into the mechanic it began stalling at stop signs. I was driving my children to school when the vehicle began stalling, fortunately I was able to get it looked at that day. My local mechanic dia
... gnosed it as a failed transmission having to do with something inside the transmission. I called Toyota and they said in order to qualify for support through their service program I needed to have the vehicle diagnosed by at a Toyota dealership. I had the vehicle towed to the dealership, where they too confirmed the transmission had failed due to something inside the transmission, which they diagnosed with a telescope. They quoted me $12K for a new transmission! I had routine maintenance performed throughout the life of the vehicle, primarily at the Toyota Service Center. Just 20 months prior to this happening I had the suggested transmission services completed at the dealership. The only services I had completed outside of the dealership over the last 20 months were regular oil changes and tires. The transmission in my 2019 Highlander is the same failed transmission as the ones in the 2017-2018, which Toyota issued a bulletin on, the same transmission Toyota has received numerous complaints about. The same transmission with hundreds of other customer's have filed incident reports on. The transmission they knew was problematic yet continued to put into new vehicles. I've been a loyal Toyota customer, this is my 5th Toyota. I can't believe that there is nothing Toyota is willing to do to support their customers. I thought Toyota prides itself on being a trusted brand with loyal customers, because they make vehicles that last and take care of them when they don't. I was wrong.Read more

Thank you for your time reviewing my complaint. I've answered each of your bullet points below. - the transmission is hard shifting in low gears however no warning/no dashboard lights to indicate issue. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. - I use my car for work which includes transporting individuals to work and appointments. This hard shift happened with a passenger while on
... the freeway in traffic, then continued for the remainder of the ride each time I approached low speeds. - A vehicle diagnostic was performed by an independent service center/certified mechanic and no errors registered with the transmission. However the transmission diagnosis was determined by the service center driving the car and experiencing the hard shifts. I have a copy of the report. - The vehicle or component has not been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance or any other representatives. _ There were no warning lamp messages leading to the problem or a this current time and currently there are no warning lights indicating the transmission issue, although it has been diagnosed by a certified mechanic/service center as "Engine concern - neutralizing in gears between 1st & 2nd". There were sporadic episodes of this "hard shifting" within the last few months and the frequency of hard stops occurring were random. Additionally, there were no warning lamps or messages to indicate an issue. On 4/4/26 a hard shift happened on the freeway and has been consistent daily at low speeds.Read more

My 2019 Honda Odessey has had transmission issues since the very beginning. I've experienced jerking/shaking, hesitation before accelerating, delayed shifting, sudden loss of power. Fortunately none of this has resulted in any accident or injury. Unfortunately, yesterday (4/4/2026) I got charged $271.34 to have to transmission warning light read only to be told, "we cleared all dtc then test dr
... ove the vehicle. No dtc found after we drove the car...if the consumer complain again he will have to replace the transmission." Of course the warning light appeared again today. The dealership seems to be completely unaware of the multitude of transmission issues documented even though this appears to be a known and well documented defect based on the class action lawsuit Browning, et al. v. American Honda Motor Co., Inc., et al. They charge me for the analysis and send me on my way as if they have no idea what is going on with my vehicle. I am the sole owner and have kept the vehicle well maintained at Leith Honda, 3940 Capital Hills Drive, Raleigh, NC 27616 and I have had all manufacturers recalls handled in a timely manner. I'm sure they can provide service records if needed. The bottom line is they are not being fully transparent and I am paying for their lack of transparency and more importantly putting me and my family at risk by not disclosing the potential risk due to the faulty transmission in these vehicles.Read more

Component: VISIBILITY / SUN VISOR Vehicle: 2023 Toyota Corolla Both the driver-side and passenger-side sun visors in my 2023 Toyota Corolla have failed within approximately two years of normal use. The visors no longer remain in their intended position and instead fall downward unexpectedly. When this occurs, the visor drops directly into the driver’s field of vision, creating a significant safe
... ty hazard by obstructing forward visibility while driving. This condition can happen without warning and requires the driver to physically move the visor out of the way, causing distraction and increasing the risk of an accident. The vehicle has not been modified, damaged, or subjected to abnormal conditions. The visors were used only as intended. Sun exposure is a normal and expected condition for this component, and failure under these circumstances indicates a potential defect in materials or workmanship. Both visors failing in the same manner suggests a systemic issue rather than isolated wear and tear. The vehicle was taken to a Toyota dealership, where I was initially told the repair would be covered under the manufacturer’s warranty. However, the claim was later denied and classified as “wear and tear” due to sun exposure. Given the function of sun visors, this explanation is not reasonable. This issue presents an ongoing safety concern due to impaired driver visibility. I am submitting this complaint so that this defect can be reviewed and tracked for potential broader impact.Read more

Ongoing Electrical Failures (2024 Lincoln Nautilus) This vehicle has experienced repeated and unresolved electrical system failures despite being brought in for service at least seven times. The issues remain ongoing and impact both safety and reliability: 1. Rear driver-side window defect – window reverses and will not remain closed, creating a safety and security concern. Multiple repair atte
... mpts have failed to resolve the issue. 2. False reverse braking alerts – system triggers warnings (“Reverse Brake Assist not available”) and audible alarms when no obstacles are present, creating a potential safety hazard. 3. Intermittent display failure – panoramic display screen goes black while driving, reducing driver awareness and functionality. 4. Rear hatch malfunction – requires repeated attempts to open; previously attributed to battery drain, but not permanently resolved. 5. Lighting system failure – exterior and interior approach lighting no longer activates with key fobs, indicating continued electrical system malfunction. 6. Forward Collision Warning – alarms go off when no oncoming vehicles are present. 7. Lane Departure Warning – goes into action when not leaving lanes causing vehicle to correct itself. Despite numerous repair attempts, these defects persist, indicating a systemic electrical issue. In my opinion, this raises serious concerns regarding vehicle safety, reliability, and manufacturer accountability. A permanent resolution has not been provided by Lincoln customer client care and denied Lincoln buy back.Read more

My 2016 Honda Civic w/ 66000 miles has been experiencing issues with the steering wheel wherein after driving for approximately 10-15 minutes the steering wheel will start "sticking" when attempting to make micro-adjustments. This primarily occurs at highway speeds, however after starting it does still occur at lower city speeds. This problem causes a significant safety issue, particularly when tr
... aveling at highway speeds as a result of increased risk of over correction after the steering wheel becomes unstuck. As an example, when making micro-adjustments to maintain a straight direction, I attempted to move the wheel to the left and the steering wheel became stuck for a moment, requiring higher than normal force to turn. When the steering wheel released, the higher force caused the wheel to turn more than desired, resulting in a minor over correction. This then required me to turn the wheel back to the right to maintain position within the lane, however it again became stuck, requiring higher than normal force to turn and resulted in a near continuous cycle. After bringing the vehicle to a Honda Repair Center on 04/04/2026, they diagnosed the issues as a failure with the rack and pinion assembly within the EPS system. The quoted cost of replacement was $4571.09. Unfortunately, while there is an active recall for this issue for 11th gen 2022-24 Civics, despite numerous complaints of the same issue there is no such recall for 10th gen 2016-2020 civics. This problem needs to be rectified, and a mass recall on all civics since 2016 need to be issued.Read more

The vehicle experienced a serious and ongoing electrical and system malfunction shortly after being returned from repairs related to a prior accident. Within a short period of driving, multiple warning messages and system errors began appearing simultaneously, indicating failures across several vehicle systems. My SUV pulls hard to the right when braking at speeds above 50 mph and much more on the interstates at 65 mph and above. I first experienced this after three weeks of ownership on a drive up I-95 on a trip to NC. It has happened numerous times while traveling on the interstates and has almost caused loss of control when having to brake hard when cut off by another driver or traffic suddenly coming
... to a stop. The vehicle has been to the service department numerous times....at first they suspected a braking issue and have had both calipers replaced, all brake lines replaced, lower control arms replaced and the right side strut replaced. None of these repairs have solved the problem. The factory service rep who took over the situation tested 3 other GMC 2025 Terrain suvs and all had the same problem. He reported the issue on a safety report to GM in Michigan and the response from GM was that it is a normal condition for the Terrain models. I have never owned, driven, or ridden in another vehicle in over 50 years of driving which performed like this, this is not a normal condition in my opinion.Read more

I am writing because my local Hyundai dealer is failing to make the repair in a timely manner consistent with what my recall notice stated, and is requiring that I make TWO trips to Hyundai in order to get this NECESSARY recall work completed. Meanwhile, if the camera fails, it could put me and others at risk. My service representative, [XXX] , and his service manager showed ZERO concern about my
... time or possible dangers if the rear camera fails, stating that it's Hyundai corporate that made the policy that customers must have their car inspected and photos taken of the rear camera harness assembly during this first visit, BEFORE ordering the parts under my vehicle's specific VIN number. Once they do this and submit it to Hyundai corporate, they say, the parts will be ordered and I will be contacted AGAIN to make yet ANOTHER appointment to have the parts installed. My letter from Hyundai says NOTHING about having to make two visits. It says to schedule an appointment, and the recall work will be done. I actually tried to call the 855 Hyundai number to schedule the work, and that operator said nothing about two visits; she was unable to book the appointment she'd given me, so directed me to the local Hyundai dealer, who also said NOTHING about two appointments being needed to have this recall work done. I am concerned, because i am scheduled to drive out of town in a high pedestrian and vehicle traffic area in two weeks and was doing my due diligence to get the recall work done before the trip. I feel that the two appointments are unnecessary when EVERY 2025 Hyundai Santa Fe with this feature is equipped with the same rear camera and rear camera harness assembly, such that there's no reason to have to FURTHER register it with my VIN, that this could all be done in one appointment. Requiring customers to come for 2 appointments--especially without telling them anywhere in the letter or during 2 phone calls--simply increases risk of injuries if the camera fails. The vehicle displayed a “Passenger Restraint System Malfunction” warning. Upon diagnosis by an authorized BMW dealership (Fields BMW, [XXX] ), the issue was identified as a faulty passenger knee airbag wiring harness (short to ground). The dealer confirmed that this condition is documented in a BMW Technical Service Bulletin [XXX] ), indicating that BMW is aware of a recurring defect involvi
... ng this component. This failure directly affects the Supplemental Restraint System (SRS), which is a critical safety system designed to protect occupants in the event of a crash. A malfunction in this system raises serious concerns about whether the airbag will deploy properly. Despite this being a known issue, BMW has not issued a recall and is requiring customers to pay for repairs once the vehicle is outside the warranty period. I was offered only partial “goodwill” assistance (20%), leaving me responsible for the majority of the repair cost. This appears to be a systemic defect in a federally regulated safety system, not normal wear and tear. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate this issue for potential recall, as it may affect multiple vehicles and poses a safety risk if the airbag system does not function as intended. On or about 02/09/2026, the vehicle experienced a catastrophic failure directly related to a known defect identified in Technical Service Bulletin 19-NA-066. The engine "sucked" in the oil filter due to a poor design on GM's part. The stand pipe was not present apparently, and must have broken off at some point. This bulletin acknowledges an issue affecting this vehicle platform. This should have
... been recalled to address this engineering flaw that GM acknowledged in their TSB. Despite multiple attempts and ongoing communication with authorized representatives to have the vehicles engine replaced under an extended warranty, the vehicle was inoperable and unusable, causing significant financial hardship. I owned the vehicle for approximately 5 months and had the vehicle in the shop multiple times for other repair issues that were known per forums from other owners of this model/year of vehicle. I have exhausted all reasonable efforts to resolve this matter through dealership, GM customer service channels, and GM's executive team without satisfactory resolution. As a direct result of this defect and resulting failure, I have incurred the following damages: Loss of use of the vehicle ($24,578 purchase price on 09/20/2025) Rental and alternative transportation expenses ($90.58 rental vehicle from 02/12/2026 - 02/14/2026) Diminished vehicle value ($24,578 - $12,000 (Selling Price) = $12,578) Out-of-pocket diagnostic and related expenses ($2,036.50) Total loss and seeking reimbursement: $14,705.08Read more
