The car started to feel like it had the shivers. Could feel some kind of vibrations of sorts. Some time prior to this the car would stall when it would switch with the engine start stop function. We were told nothing was wrong with it. Prior to the vibrations or around the same time the check engine light went on. Oil pump failure, causing inability to read oil level. Also flickering oil light on and off. My car spontaneously started throwing out Service AdvanceTrac, PowerTrain Malfunction, AWD Fault, Pre-Collision Assist Not Available, and Hill Start Assist warnings. Those all cleared themselves, but the AWD Fault remained. I took it to my local Ford dealer, who replaced the AWD module the same day. The very next day my check engine light came on with the code for the Catalytic Converter and the P

Upon reading some of the other complaints about this year, I see that I am not alone and have read several other complaints explaining the exact same thing that happened with my car. It appears as though there were other 2020 escapes within a certain manufacturing date range that DID qualify for a recall related to these issues, however mine did not for some reason.Read more

The vacuum pump gears for the brake assist was shattered and metal parts were sent into the engine. I lost power brakes and was lucky to be able to stop the suv. The car was towed to a GMC dealer where it was diagnosed with a damaged exhaust cam, a shattered vacuum pump and metal pieces in the motor. Cost to fix $3200. This is a 2018 GMC Terrain with 112000 miles on it. I had a powertrane plus war

I started noticing a strange noise when I applied the brakes. It was an electronic type of almost grinding sound. When I looked into it, it was determined that the brake actuator was failing despite no warning lights coming on. This started around the beginning of March. Finally in the beginning of July the noise stopped and a lot of dashboard lights came on including ABS, BRAKE, and others. This
... is when the brake actuator actually failed, and the battery no longer was charged when the brakes were applied. This is extremely concerning that a major brake component can fail like this and affect the safety of the vehicle. I am attaching a photo of the dash that shows the lights that came on when this failure occurred.Read more

Vehicle stalled after accelerating from a stop sign during slow speed driving in my neighborhood. Truck engaged auto parking brake in middle of intersection, "battery" light illuminated on dash, and Battery voltage suddenly read approx 11.5v. Had to restart in intersection and disengage parking brake to proceed. This occurred at 18002 miles on May 11. (photo attached) No previous warning l
... ights or issues. Dealer was only a mile away so drove there without stopping while battery voltage continued to read 11.x volts. The dealership service dept was closed, so drove 2 miles home while battery warning continued. After stopping and re-starting truck in my driveway, voltage showed normal 13-14v and continued to run normally afterwards. Truck occasionally exhibits engine stumble especially when coasting to stop signs in my 15 mph neighborhood during first drive of the day. I have not experienced a complete stall since this one incident. Vehicle has not been back to the dealer since this occurred but is available on request. While unusual, I didn't have time to deal with the problem since the dealer was closed. I saw a notice of nhtsa investigation online which made me think to report this now, 2 months later.Read more

We received this from Toyota. Customer Support Program Bulletin Date: Page: POL19-06 6/6/2019 1 of 3 REVISED 8/28/19 CUSTOMER SUPPORT PROGRAM BULLETIN (ZKC): REPAIR COVERAGE FOR BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY AND BRAKE BOOSTER PUMP ASSEMBLY ON CERTAIN 2008-2010 MY HIGHLANDER HYBRID VEHICLE. When we received this bulletin, we asked our Toyota Dealer Service Department (Stevenson Toyota East, Denver, C
... O) to address this issue multiple times when bringing in our vehicle for service in 2019 and 2020 and were told repeatedly they would not fix this issue since the ABS light was not on. Now that this bulletin is expired the ABS light is on. We took our Highlander to the Toyota Dealership in Melbourne, Florida and were told that this repair will now cost us $2473.89. Our 2010 Highlander is barely worth that, and now we have to repair this on our own even though Toyota knew the brake actuator assembly and brake booster pump would eventually fail at some point in time. Despite this, Toyota refused to resolve this issue when we asked (more than once) right after receiving the service bulletin in 2019 and as a result is causing a safety issue for our college aged son who drives this car, and all other drivers on the road should the ABS system fail. The attached estimate states the ABS service light has not come back on but this is not true and my son is having issues with the brakes.Read more

On June 9, 2024, while I was driving on the highway, my new Accord flashed a series of warning messages on the right side of the driver information interface (instrument panel). This is upsetting because I've had my new Honda Accord just over one month and have fewer than 1500 miles on it. UPDATE: I took my new Honda Accord Touring to my dealer and they examined it and told me a solenoid needed replacement. They ordered the part which took several day and replaced it. The solenoid replacement did not fix the problem and the service manager said my car needed a new transmission (eCVT). I was shocked such a new car would require such a radical repair. After waiting two weeks, my transmission was replaced. However, I'm not confident in my car. I read on NHTSA that 2023 Accord Hybrid had a recall for eCVT transmission replacement. So we reached out to Hyundai ourselves and got a representative to look into why it wouldn't be covered if there were obvious (what we have come to find out) issues. There are already TSBS indicating timing chain issues but in order to determine what the cause of failure was would require taking it apart which they weren't willing to do. It appears this will be the next class action lawsuit as there are too many having similar problems and Hyundai isn't willing to stand up.Read more

We purchased our vehicle new September 2023 from a Toyota dealership. Engine oil dipstick Toyota part 15301-50140 was installed in vehicle and was verified by 50140 stamped on dipstick. I wanted an extra oil dipstick so ordered a replacement through Toyota. The original dipstick part 15301-50140 is no longer available and has been superseded by Toyota part 15301-0P060. I ordered the new dipst
... ick part number and received it from Toyota. It is verified by 0P060 stamped on the dipstick. The safety concern is the two dipsticks are not the same length and each one requires a different quantity of engine oil to reach the Full mark. The new dipstick -0P060 is 1/2 inch shorter than the old, no longer available dipstick -50140. Most importantly the Low and Full marks are also both 1/2 inch higher up or closer to dipstick handle on the new dipstick than the old one. It takes approximately 0.9 quart more of engine oil to reach Full on the new dipstick than on the old one. One of these dipsticks is correct for my vehicle and one is not. The original dipstick is no longer available and the new dipstick is not the same as the original. The difference of 0.9 quart more or less of oil in the engine is significant and important. Too much or too little oil can damage an engine or contribute to a shorter engine life. Both of these dipsticks cannot be correct for our vehicle. I have talked to the Service Managers at two Toyota Dealerships and they do not have an answer for why these dipsticks are different. I have spoken to Parts Department people at two additional Toyota Dealerships, called Toyota Motor North America and no one has any idea why these dipsticks are different or which one I should be using. I also wrote a letter to Toyota Motor NA Headquarters over two months ago and have received no response to date. I have both dipsticks available for inspection. Toyota needs to let owners know if they should replace their old dipsticks or not on these vehicles.Read more

This line constantly rubs and there is friction with other lines/hoses (power steering), and other components under the hood. No rubbing should occur. The rubbing and fric

It has affected us not only by not providing a/c under extreme heat, but also has caused hissing sounds and for white smoke vapors that has omitted from the vents inside the vehicle. It has also caused us to breathe in the vapors which are toxic. There was cold a/c felt through the vents and we were not aware of any issues until now (7/19/2024). This is a very costly repair, over $1500 and up for the average consumer to pay out. 2)Park assist & sound that are unable to hear & works intermittently. The radio display & speakers work intermittently. The park assist is connected to the speakers. When the speakers and radio/radio display do not work properly; it causes the park assist to not function correctly when backing up. This is a safety issue due to blind spots and areas one cannot see and depending on the park assist to aide them; something can get hit or run over. There is an issue with Engine fuse box wiring & terminals GM knows of. 3)Driver seat belt lap anchor pretentioner. Only special coverage adjustment which states dealers are to inspect & replace. They failed to send out the notice to me. I was told I have to pay the dealership a diagnostic fee to inspect it then fix from there. I shouldn’t have to pay the fee to have it replaced like it states in the documents. Nor worry about safety of seatbelt & components going to fail to protect in the event of a crash.Read more
