2025 Triumph Speed 400 — Moisture-Triggered Limp Mode and Loss of Turn Signals My 2025 Triumph Speed 400 enters limp mode and displays a check engine light and wrench warning whenever ridden in rain or high humidity. When this occurs, turn signals and hazard lights also stop functioning, leaving me without signaling capability in traffic. Both issues clear only after the bike dries out. The bat
... tery is disconnected and reset has not worked in the past, and continues not to help the issue. At my break-in service (~150 miles ago), I reported the issue. The dealer applied dielectric grease to the speedometer connectors and checked the battery terminals, but the fix was unverified as it didn’t rain until today. On 6/10/26 after riding to work in the rain, the bike entered full limp mode when I tried to leave — power was severely restricted and turn signals and hazards were completely inoperative. The simultaneous loss of power and signaling in traffic is a serious safety hazard with no advance warning to the rider. This is a documented issue across multiple owner forums affecting 2024 and 2025 Speed 400s, and Triumph is aware but has issued no recall or formal remedy. I am requesting NHTSA investigate and compel Triumph to issue a fix.Read more

While traveling South on [XXX] toward [XXX] , the vehicle suffered a sudden and catastrophic internal failure of the CVT transmission. This resulted in an immediate and dangerous loss of motive power while in motion on a busy roadway. My husband (who was driving at the time) was forced to manually push the vehicle off the road with the assistance of a police officer to avoid a collision. A subse
... quent diagnosis at a local shop (Hot Rod Scott's LLC) who removed the transmission fluid in order to refill it and found the transmission had fallen apart. He did not return the old fluid and returned the plate of the transmission with all the pieces in the bottom and an authorized Toyota dealership in Chippewa Falls confirmed the transmission failed internally. This is a widely documented manufacturing defect in 2018–2022 C-HR models (K114 CVT). Toyota has acknowledged a bearing defect in other markets, such as Canada, by extending the warranty to 10 years/193,000 km, yet US consumers are being denied similar protection for the same defective part. This failure presents an unreasonable safety risk due to the unpredictable loss of propulsion in traffic. I am requesting a formal investigation into this systemic defect. Catastrophic structural failure of the motorcycle frame. The lower Left Hand Cradle Assembly (Triumph Part # T2071344), which connects the front engine mount to the rear swingarm pivot, sheared completely through. The fracture occurred precisely at the Heat-Affected Zone (HAZ) of the factory weld. This localized metallurgical defect causes a total loss of chassis integrity. A failure of this prim
... ary structural component while at speed would result in an immediate loss of vehicle control, leading to a severe or fatal crash. There were no warning lights or operational symptoms prior to discovering the completely severed steel tube during a visual inspection. The failed component is available for physical inspection. The manufacturer (Triumph) has been notified with high-resolution photographic evidence but refused to investigate the defect or authorize a safety replacement without forcing the owner to pay an out-of-pocket dealership diagnostic fee. This specific weld failure is a documented design flaw on this platform, and the manufacturer actively modified this frame component in subsequent model years, indicating prior knowledge of the structural weakness.Read more

One of the factory solder joints on the air conditioning condenser failed causing the refrigerant to leak out of the air conditioning system rendering the air conditioning notn functional. This is a safety issue because without functioning air conditioning the windshield defogger is ineffective and visibility is drastically reduced. The only indication of the failure was the loss of effectiveness of the windshield defogger. This failure first occurred on 3/6/26 with 58,485 miles on the vehicle. While driving with my family on a busy freeway at approximately 70 mph, our vehicle suddenly displayed a loud, urgent warning: “Hybrid System Warning – Safely Stop and Do Not Drive!” At the same moment, the car lost the ability to accelerate without any prior signs of trouble. We were extremely fortunate to have enough momentum to coast to the shoulder and shut the vehicle off, unsure of how
... serious the issue might be. Being stranded without warning on a high‑speed highway put my entire family in a dangerous situation. After a few minutes, we restarted the car to see if we could at least get it off the freeway. The warning had disappeared, and the vehicle drove normally, allowing us to take back roads home. The lack of any prior symptoms makes this even more concerning. Losing acceleration at highway speeds with no warning is a major safety hazard. We took the vehicle to a dealership immediately, but because the warning light was no longer active, they were unable to diagnose the problem. A few days later, the same warning appeared again—this time only a couple minutes from home. I turned around immediately for safety, parked the car, and once again the warning disappeared as soon as the vehicle was shut off. At this point, we have a car sitting in our driveway that we do not feel safe driving. The dealership cannot identify or repair the issue unless the warning is active, & even then, they cannot guarantee that a diagnostic code will appear. After researching this problem online, it’s clear that many other Hyundai owners are experiencing the same issue, often spending thousands of dollars without a definitive fix. Despite how common & dangerous this problem appears to be, there are no recalls & no consistent guidance from dealerships. This situation is unacceptable from a safety standpoint. A vehicle that can suddenly lose power at highway speeds—with no warning and no reliable way to diagnose the cause—poses a serious risk to EVERYONE and needs to be investigatedRead more

This complaint is in regard to the most recent recall on Dodge Darts, the transmission shifter cable detachment. I was in the process of parking my car on an incline. All was normal. I had been out running errands, driving, and shifting for a few hours. The gear shift felt disconnected from anything; there was no effort required to move it back and forth in the shift. The car was not recognizing
... any movement I was making with the gear shift, and would not lock into place for any gear. I had to hold my foot on the brake even while "shifted" into park; otherwise, I would drift backwards into the car behind me, and potentially into a ditch/creek. I had to call for help to stabilize my car, with bricks behind the tires and a 25-pound weight left on the brake so I could exit the vehicle. We had to lift and open the gear shift to the compartment underneath and manually shift the car into park. During this, we unfortunately broke something under the gear shift. This happened on a Sunday evening (July 20), so no repair person was available to help me. Chrysler refused to offer any assistance or information about the last recall of this issue, and advised me to call the dealership that did the repair (they would not tell me which one I went to, just that it was marked complete in 2019). I know I went to a Shorkey location, but not which. I called three Jim Shorkey Dodge locations in Pittsburgh, and they all refused responsibility. I was told to call Chrysler again. I did not, because why would I? A local mechanic was able to acquire the part from Dodge to "fix" the issue. However, he had to override the safety mechanism that causes the car to recognize what gear the car is in before it can turn off. So now I have to drive around, hoping I don't accidentally press the power button and shut off my car on the road. The car was inspected by a representative from Progressive. They determined a mechanical failure and denied my claim for coverage. This is BS.Read more

I have taken it to the dealer for diagnostic, they found no error codes but found service bulletin S210800193 and S2108000221 performed IPC Customer programmable features Configuration to temporarily correct the issue, but it happened again 3 weeks later. I had to pay $254 for this service, and the issue isn't fixed. Here is an example forum discussion, indicating many if not all vehicles are affected: https://www.jeepgarage.org/threads/forward-collision-warning-off-light-is-stuck-on.250301/#replies Many people on the forum believe this issue did not start until a software update a year or so ago. This is a well known and widespread problem, and there is even a DOT Bulletin on the issue: dot.report Bulletins https://dot.report/bulletins/11006236 Because this is dangerous and very distracting while driving (for settings/gauges/units to no longer be useful while driving), and it occurs randomly, I strongly believe this issue should be a manufacturer recall. Motorcycle threw me forward on the bike causing me to momentarily lose control which put me into the oncoming lane of traffic. I was able to recover and swing back into the proper lane of travel. There were no warning signs or messages prior to the incident. After the incident multiple errors appeared on my display: ABS, transmission, engine, and a 4th that I can't remember at this time. After sto
... pping, turning the bike off, and restarting the engine all error messages disappeared. After restarting and beginning forward motion, a clicking noise could be heard that corresponded with wheel revolution (as wheel moved faster, clicking noise quickened). After beginning to pick up speed the ABS error light would appear and clicking noise would stop. Bike was taken to a Triumph dealer in S Dakota, mechanic reported something looked to have gotten into the rear brake assembly damaging the ABS pulse ring, caliper bracket, & rotor. Bike is currently at Fort Wayne Triumph (owners home town) and they report that bike also appears to have a damaged chain sprocket. After doing some research of my own, I found other reported incidents on 22/23 Tiger 900 Rally Pros very similar to this incident that were caused by broken rear wheel spokes. I've called the dealer to have them check for any broken spokes and they have confirmed that there is one. I have the entire incident recorded on video from a dash cam from another motorcycle behind me. After watching this video many times, I cannot see what caused this to happen and am hoping your experts can help me figure out a cause. Thank you very much for your time.
