I was traveling on an interstate going home from work. My speed was approximately 65mph. I noticed traffic slowing up ahead. I began to drop my speed (cost down), as I was approaching the traffic the car in front of me was applying their brakes; I had already began to apply mine. I was applying more pressure to my brakes to slow down more as the person in front of me began to slow more quickly. Th
... e person in front of me then had to slam their brakes on and I was not able to stop in time to avoid collision with the car in front of me. That driver did not come in contact with any other vehicle. The impact was at approximately 50mph. I was then very quickly hit from behind by the car behind me. The vehicle behind me hit of center and more on the right back corner of my car. My vehicle sustained significant front-end damage; the hood was folded, the grill was gone, the radiator was pushed back. As I looked up after the impact and saw my hood folded I then noticed that my air bag had not gone off. How could the air bag have not gone off in an impact such as that. My safety was compromised by the possibility of hitting the steering wheel or worse such as impacting the windshield if the crash had been worse. I do not remember if my vehicle had side curtain air bags as well. NO air bags deployed. Law enforcement was called by the driver of the car I rear ended as we agreed that she would. The driver of the vehicle that hit me I believe also called 911. Highway Patrol responded along with state incident response vehicles to protect the scene. I have filed a claim with my insurance, and the vehicle was looked at and deemed a total loss. It is not available for inspection and was taken to a salvage yard per the insurance company. I did not notice any lights on on the dash after. I also did not encounter any issues before this. I had the vehicle just over a year.Read more

On 10-23-25 my son pushed the button at the bottom rear of the drivers seat that moves the seat forward when using the stow-n-go feature. I was in the seat at the time and had just seconds to react. I pushed the Driver 1 setting on the door and it reversed the action. If I hadn't, would I have been crushed into the steering wheel or would the air bag have gone off? What if I hadn't set up that
... feature? What if I had panicked? I took it to the dealership today. After inspecting it, they said there was no protocol for this problem. The only thing they could do was to disable the button, which they did upon my request. "5447 B Piller on left side has button for rear passengers to press to move seat forward. There is no setting to disengage function, only way to disengage would be to unplug button. Per customer request unplugged switch to disengage button from working." There were no warnings and just seconds to react. There is a button at the roof front center that disengages the side doors from opening. Perhaps this button should also include disengaging that feature, or eliminate it altogether. My 2015 Dodge Caravan also had stow-n-go. It was simple to move the seat forward to utilize this feature. Now, with the Driver presets, it is very convenient to move it back. This is an unnecessary and unsafe "convenience." Only someone in the driver seat should be able to move the seat forward.Read more

The lock actuators on my 2017 Dodge Grand Caravan sliding passenger doors are both frozen, so the doors are not able to be opened at all. The doors for the backseat are unusable, and passengers must climb in through the back hatch door of the van. My car began smoking from the engine (visible from the hood), and I had to pull my vehicle over. My children were unable to exit the vehicle in a swif
... t manner, because they had to leave through the rear hatch of the vehicle instead of opening the doors next to their seats. This is extremely unsafe and seems to be a widespread safety risk with this vehicle. The company issued an extended warranty in 2025, but because my vehicle was purchased in 2018 and I commuted to my job, my vehicle is over the 100,000 mile qualifier now. It wasn't at 100,000 miles when the doors seized up. Dodge/Chrysler should recall this lock actuator part, because passenger safely should come first. An extended warranty that excludes drivers now over 100,000 miles is not acceptable. This defect could have caused my children to become trapped in a burning vehicle.Read more

I was driving from Las Vegas to my home in Los Angeles. An alarming message began flashing on the dashboard telling me to pull over. The vehicle became hard to control. I somehow managed to get it off an exit. I was "lucky" enough to get it towed to a nearby Toyota dealership where I was told the inverter had failed and that that inverter and associated parts had to be replaced. On my 2015 Prius w
... ith only 50,000 miles on it. I SPECIFICALLY asked if there had been a recall on the electrical system of any 2015 Priuses, and they flatly said no. I also CALLED TOYOTA, and they also said there were no recalls involving the electrical system or inverters. The Barstow Toyota dealership said it would cost over $5,000 to repair AND that they wouldn't have the parts they needed for a WEEK. As it was, I had been stranded in the desert at a hotel for two days. I then had to pay $1,100 to be towed back to LA and took it to a hybrid mechanic I trust and paid them to do the work. But this cost me THOUSANDS UPON THOUSANDS. In a month where a friend of mine died (which was the reason I was driving from city to city). To have to replace this on a car with only 50,000 miles is preposterous. To NOW find out there actually IS a recall on the 2015 Prius FOR the electrical system involving the inverter is so far beyond frustrating, I don't have the correct word for it.Read more

The vehicle experienced repeated electrical and brake system malfunctions that pose serious safety concerns. On multiple occasions, the brake pedal became stiff and unresponsive while driving, and the parking brake system failed to engage properly. In addition, the ignition system often failed to start, even when the battery and all power indicators appeared normal. At times, the vehicle’s elec

These failures occur intermittently and unpredictably, making the vehicle unreliable and unsafe to operate. The issue has been reported to the dealer for inspection, but the problem continues to occur. It appears to be related to the vehicle’s electronic brake control and ignition system. This malfunction places the driver and others at potential risk, especially if the brake system or electrical components fail while the vehicle is in motion.Read more

My Hyundai’s replacement engine, installed under a recall a little over a year ago, is now failing again. Hyundai’s service department was the only shop to ever work on the engine. Hyundai Corporate acknowledged
