Car’s sunroof exploded while driving, was going about 55 on the highway and I heard a loud pop followed by the sound of breaking glass which I found to be my whole sunroof exploding from the inside out. This is dangerous because of the possibility of glass landing on people or in the car leading to potential injury. This issue is apparently one that happens fairly commonly. The component has not

I was driving my 2015 prius for years and occasionally the brake, abs and traction light would come on this is a sign of a failing Brake actuator and booster. Toyota and the Ntsb ordered the following warranty enhancement https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2020/MC-10181800-9999.pdf My Brake Booster had been exhibiting signs of failing for years and I tried to get a toyota dealership to replace
... and repair the parts under the warranty extension but I was told I had to wait until I had perminent dash lights and trouble codes. So I had to wait till the booster completely failed. By that time my car had exited the extended warranty perimeters and I am told it is no longer eligible.... even though the components are faulty from the factory and exhibited signs of failure many years prior. I was told to wait until the compenent failed by multiple dealers. My car was in motion and the brake boosters failed, fortunatly it did not cause an accident but this is a serious safety issue. Toyota should have done a compleat recall of the brake actuator and booster pump, rather than have drivers use known faulty components until failure. Toyota corporate has refused to help in the repair of the vehicle despite it showing failure for years.Read more

THIRD RECALL - Just Issued May 20, 2026 NHTSA Campaign 26V320000 43,566 additional vehicles (2024 Tundras including mine) Brings total recalled to 272,566+ vehicles Remedy status: "Currently under development" Two years and three recalls later, Toyota STILL has no proven fix The Pattern: First Recall (24V-381) - May 2024: 102,000 vehicles (2022-2023) Second Recall (25V-767) - November 2025: 127,00

MY OIL ANALYSIS - Objective Evidence of Bearing Damage Blackstone Labs analysis at 5,500 miles (July 2024): At just 5,500 miles, my engine was already showing 3-6x elevated bearing wear. Significance: This was done before any recall was announced for my truck (independent documentation of defect) Proves debris causes measurable damage even at very low mileage I'm now at 15,000+ miles approaching the 20k-30k failure range Toyota has provided zero guidance about damage progression Attached: Full Blackstone Labs report TOYOTA'S SMOKING GUN ADMISSION Before I did this oil analysis, I called Toyota customer service to ask if my 2024 truck was affected in the first traunch of recalls. They told me my vehicle was manufactured 5 months AFTER the issue was discovered and that my truck was not affected. Then in December of 2025 a second recall and now mine is in that recall. Toyota admits they discovered the contamination problem, then continued building engines with the same defect for at least 5 more months before my truck was built. This wasn't an oversight—this was deliberate production and sale of defective engines while publicly claiming the issue was due to machining material left in the block.Read more

am filing this complaint regarding a power steering rack leak on my [2018] Toyota Tacoma with [83,000] miles, which I purchased used three months ago from Fred Anderson Toyota of Greer in South Carolina. I am reporting an issue with the driver seat in my 2026 Toyota Camry. An attempted repair and inspection were performed; however, the issue still persists. The ongoing seat movement negatively affects driver confidence and comfort and may create a safety risk by distracting the driver or altering seating position while driving.Read more

The driver’s seat backrest (lumbar support area) constantly pops and shifts (makes physical movement) while accelerating, braking, going over bumps, and when making body adjustments. The Toyota dealer first replaced the lumbar support, and subsequent attempts involved temporary m

A Toyota dealer technician mentioned that the “seat lumbar is shifting around on the metal support rail.” The popping and shifting sensation has gotten worse since last year. This is very distracting and has nearly caused an accident when felt during braking. As seen on many online forums, a lot of 2025 Camry owners (the first redesign year) are experiencing this issue, but Toyota is trying to sweep it under the rug by claiming this is a normal vehicle characteristic instead of releasing an updated or redesigned lumbar support. Toyota's interim recall guidance prohibits occupation of the second-row seats until remedy is performed. The remedy is currently not available. Premature transmission failure due to factory defect. All maintenance was done on time and at dealership.
Incident date: Sep 15, 2025
The UB80E (Front-Wheel Drive) transmission had a total failure at only 70,000 miles. The vehicle started to make unusual noises with harsh and delayed shifting. No warning lights or messages were displayed at any time. The mechanic who replaced the transmission stated my trans fluid was burned up possibly due to faulty overheated components and in his experience many Toyota models were suffering
... the same premature transmission issues. My cost for a rebuilt transmission was $7,700 plus 667.00 for a rear trans mount, as well as the cost of a rental car. I have all repair receipts for inspection. This defect in the UB80E transmission warrants immediate investigation by the NTSB as is a legitimate safety issues for the passengers of these Toyota models.Read more

My 2021 Toyota Highlander makes a whining sound when driving. Took vehicle to dealership and was told it is a $10,000 repair and repair is critical.

I just bought this car and discovered that the steering system is actually unsafe; the vehicle makes noises and vibrates at the steering column.
Incident date: May 22, 2026
The vehicle has an intermittent loss of power/hesitation during acceleration. The issue has occurred multiple times since the vehicle was purchased new and is still occurring at approximately 42,000 miles while under warranty. When accelerating from a stop or low speed, the vehicle sometimes has little to no power, feels like it stalls or fails to respond, and then suddenly kicks in and takes off.
... This creates a safety concern because the vehicle may not accelerate when entering traffic, crossing an intersection, turning, or merging, and then may surge unexpectedly. The issue occurred again on May 22, 2026, at approximately 3:00 PM while leaving a grocery store parking lot. The dash camera footage exists, but the hesitation is difficult to see clearly on video. There were no known warning lights or messages displayed at the time. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. The issue has been reported to the dealership multiple times during service visits. The dealership has stated that the condition is part of the hybrid system/normal operation, but the concern has not been repaired or resolved. I believe this may involve the hybrid propulsion system, powertrain, throttle response, transmission/eCVT, inverter, or related software control system. The cause is currently unknown.Read more
