The contact owns a 2013 Dodge Grand Caravan. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken to the local dealer, who replaced the motor mounts and transmission. Five months later, the transmission failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle began driving roughly. The PCM update was completed by another local dealer, but the failure recurred. While driving at an undisclosed speed, the check engine
... warning light illuminated. The transmission was shifting through the gears erratically. The vehicle was not drivable. There were no warning lights illuminated. The coil packs and spark plugs were replaced at an independent mechanic. Several days later the RPM was fluctuating, and the vehicle lost motive power while driving up an incline. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who determined that the failure was due to the torque converter failing. The local dealer was previously contacted, but no longer accepting calls. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who stated there were no codes retrieved. The dealer informed the contact that there was no warranty coverage for the issue. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 163,000.Read more

Cabin lost heat November 2025. Brought it in to the local Ford dealership right away and they said replacing replacing the oil cooler hose will probably fix it. Car worked fine for a couple of weeks but the cabin heat tapered off again. Made another appointment with the Ford dealership, but the first available appointment wasn’t until 2/23/26. I tried to drive anywhere as little as possible afte
... r this because I live in Fairbanks, AK and it’s commonly -30 this time of the year. Tried to leave work on [XXX] and a warning came up as I started driving away that the engine was overheating and power was reduced to minimize damage. I put my car back in my work parking spot and plugged it in until I could get an appointment at a local mechanic shop. Had the car towed to a local shop 1/6/26 and they inspected it 1/7/26. The report came back saying there was an internal coolant leak and found hydrocarbons in the cooling system. The recommended fix was to replace the entire engine with a quote for $12,000. That is more than I paid for the vehicle and way over the Kelly Blue Book worth. I did some research and found that there is a common coolant leak issue damaging engines of a certain range of Ford vehicles that has not become an official recall yet. I looked at other Ford Escape owner complaints and it looks like my 2015 Escape 1.6L has the same engine defect. I’m afraid if I pay for the engine replacement, this will just happen again. If I don’t pay, I still owe for my lease and will only get pennies to sell it as is for parts. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)Read more

GM has redesigned the gear shift of the 2026 Chevrolet Equinox to be placed on the steering wheel. That's fine except engineers put it in the exact spot of where the windshield wiper lever traditionally is AND made it look and act and move like a windshield wiper lever, which instinctively means you as a driver will hit that gear shift when it starts raining or when you want to trigger windshield
... wiper fluid. Doing so, as we experienced twice (once on a highway exit and another time on a major road) will cause the car to go into neutral since pulling the lever toward you (a movement that used to trigger fluid on the windshield) triggers the car to go into neutral. When you're driving on a major road, this is dangerous, slows the car, forces you to have to figure out how to get it back into drive and there's no obvious workaround for that. You can't come to a complete stop on a highway or a major busy road when in neutral and the car doesn't have easy/instinctive ways to send it back into drive. Numerous drivers have complained of this on Reddit and Facebook and presumably to GM. I sent a complaint to GM today. This is the first time in 40 years of car ownership that I've felt nervous driving a car because I'm worried I will cause a wreck because of poor design. There needs to be a workaround or alert to to this. Very dangerous.Read more

At approximately 100,500 miles, my 2018 Ford Expedition XLT 3.5L EcoBoost developed loud rattling noises consistent with cam phaser failure. Zeigler Ford confirmed the failed cam phasers on October 20, 2025. These phasers were previously replaced on the vehicle at 51,000 miles on February 10, 2022, at Al Piemonte Ford under the Customer Satisfaction Program 21N03. They used the old phasers HL3Z-6
... C525-CD which are known to be defective rather than the new updated phasers ML3Z-6C525. Cam phaser failure can cause engine misfires, loss of power, and potential engine damage, creating a serious safety risk, especially at highway speeds. This issue has been reported by multiple Ford Expedition owners, indicating it is not isolated. I request that NHTSA investigate whether this defect warrants a recall or expanded coverage for vehicles like mine that exceed CSP mileage limits. My vehicle has been properly maintained, and the failure is due to a known defect in the 3.5L EcoBoost cam.Read more

While idling and driving into a parking garage, a new metallic knocking noise was audible from the engine. When I pulled up to the parking garage, I lowered my window to have the code scanned to enter the garage. The noise was present at that time, nothing previous to my commute to work this day. The noise was not audible while driving due to road/wind noise, music and conversation in the car.
... Driving down the garage ramp and into the parking area with the window still down, the noise was more pronounced (perhaps from the surrounding concrete walls). I eventually parked the vehicle after taking a video clip and sought help via phone and email from my work office. In this specific incident, safety was potentially at risk if the condition had worsened to the point of engine failure or other severe condition while driving on the roads. I was lucky in this instance. On 01/06/2026, video clip was sent to Honda dealer where purchased. I was instructed to not drive it and have the vehicle towed. Due to distance and expense to tow it close to home where purchased, it was towed to a local Honda dealer. Today they called and said internal components have failed and the engine needs to be replaced. On 01/07/2026 I've further engaged my local Honda dealer where purchased. This includes transferring it to them. At this time, the vehicle would be available for inspection upon request. No check engine light or other warnings of any sort were present. No invoice for diagnostics/repairs is available as of yet for upload as this is event is still in progress. I am reporting an unresolved safety defect involving the 12.3-inch instrument panel display on my Toyota RAV4 Prime, which is the subject of NHTSA Recall 25V595 (Manufacturer Recall 25TB08). The defect affects the LED digital display that provides critical driver information, including vehicle speed, warning indicators, and operating status. The instrument panel display has now been completely blank and unresponsive for over three consecutive days and has not returned at all, including after multiple drive cycles. As a result, the vehicle cannot display critical operating information or malfunction indicators. This issue was first reported to an authorized Toyota dealer in August, prior to the recall being issued. At that time, I was informed that I would be responsible for replacing the entire display/instrument system at my own expense. On September 11, 2025, Toyota issued Recall 25V595 acknowledging that the instrument panel display may be blank at startup and stating that operating the vehicle in this condition reduces the ability to see malfunction indicators and could increase the risk of a crash or injury. The vehicle was most recently serviced on December 19, at which time the dealer confirmed that the issue is related to the recall and that no remedy is currently available. The recall remains incomplete, and Toyota has not provided a repair, interim solution, loaner vehicle, or timeline for resolution. My Land Rover Discovery Sport has experienced six separate stalling / loss-of-propulsion events, all of which created dangerous highway situations. On multiple occasions, the vehicle either entered limp mode or stalled completely while traveling at approximately 65 mph, endangering all lanes of traffic and forcing unsafe maneuvers to reach the shoulder. These incidents occurred without warning at
... random times and completely disappearing after a restart. Two of these stalling events occurred after the vehicle was inspected and “diagnosed” by an authorized Land Rover dealer for 400$ and returned to me as having no issues. Both of those post-diagnosis failures required towing back to the dealer at my own cost. One of the six incidents required a 911 call due to the vehicle stalling in active freeway traffic and creating an immediate safety hazard. The issue is intermittent and often clears temporarily after the vehicle is shut off, making it difficult for dealers to reproduce. However, the defect consistently reappears shortly after driving. The vehicle has now been in the possession of an authorized Land Rover dealer for approximately 3.5 months, and no repair or root cause has been identified. The vehicle remains undrivable and unsafe to operate. I am concerned this represents a systemic defect, potentially software-related, that causes sudden loss of propulsion and stalling at highway speeds without warning.Read more

A low oil message popped up upon start up looked under the hood a noticed no oil on the dip stick and a coolant reservoir full of jet black oil (supposed to be a bright red) and a fluid level higher than the normally observed coolant level. Thankfully happened in my d
... rive way. It could have left me stranded had the engine completely run out of oil/overheated etc. Had the coolant reservoir broke/cracked due to the extra pressure and added volume in the coolant system it would have leaked a coolant/oil mixture in the engine bay around hot components of the motor. (potential fire hazard in my opinion) thankfully was able to get it towed to the dealer before any major leaks of the coolant system or catastrophic damage (that I know of) occurred.Read more

My wife was driving on a highway while taking our grandchildren to day care. The vehicle lost power causing her try ti pull to the side of a main highway. All of the check engine lights went on. We brought the vehicle to Honda and the dealership said they found coolant in the combustion chamber. It needs a head gasket, at a cost of $4800.00. The car has 76,000 miles on it. My 2021 Genesis G90 has experienced repeated failures of the main infotainment / viewing display system, which has been replaced multiple times by authorized Genesis dealers. Despite these repairs, the defect continues to recur. On December 19, 2025, while the main display was nonfunctional, I was involved in a rear-end collision while proceeding from a stop at a traffic light. During this event,
... the vehicle did not provide any forward collision warning and did not engage autonomous emergency braking, despite the presence of a vehicle directly in front of me. I am concerned that failure of the main display system or its associated control modules disables, suppresses, or prevents proper operation or driver notification of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), including Forward Collision Warning, Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist, and Autonomous Emergency Braking. Due to the display failure, no visual warnings or system status messages could be seen, and there was no indication that collision-avoidance systems were disabled or degraded. The absence of both warnings and braking intervention raises serious concerns regarding system integration, fault handling, and fail-safe design. This vehicle has undergone multiple unsuccessful repair attempts for the same defect and is currently subject to a formal warranty demand under the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act. This complaint is submitted to request investigation into whether recurring display failures in the 2021 Genesis G90 can impair ADAS functionality or driver awareness, creating an unreasonable safety risk.Read more

My engine started making a clicking noise like a playing card in a bicycle spokes. Was able to drive and make it to dealership and they determined that my engine crankshaft had to much end play and they needed to replace the engine. They had my truck approximately 2 weeks, did not provide me a loaner, nor any reimbursement for being without my truck during this time. My truck was still under the f
