The seatbelt I has stopped retracting on the passenger side of the vehicle and is now occurring on the driver side of the vehicle as well. This is a safety concern.
Incident date: Mar 12, 2025
The passenger side seatbelt retractor broke, will not release seat belt at all. I am aware that NHTSA did testing in this particular year and model, and some are covered and some are not included in the recall, to be determined by the last 8 digits of the vin #. I wish to dispute that my particular vehicle SHOULD be included in the recall. I can prove it is broken, a manufacturing defect. This i
... s a MAJOR safety concern. I wish for an exception to the validity on the testing that was done on your end, which was found to only be an issue on certain “batches”. Apparently, this is a defect and should be repaired as soon as possible and I should not be charged. I can no longer drive this vehicle as long as I have a person in the passenger side. In case of an accident, because I was aware of this defective part in my Dodge Durango, I could personally be held responsible for anything that happens to my passenger and also for any repairs that happened as a result of the decision made by HHTSA, to pick and choose only particular “vin numbers”on the same make and year of the the 2014 Dodge Durrango. I ask for a reversal on this previously made decision. And to make dodge take care of the replacement of the part necessary and labor. It clearly IS a manufacturing defect, no matter what “batch” was decided as defectiveRead more

On March 12, 2025, I was involved in a frontal collision when another vehicle unexpectedly pulled out in front of me. Impact occurred to the front-left area of my vehicle. The manufacturer was notified in May 2025 and again in November 2025. The manufacturer closed the case citing inability to inspect the vehicle and later relied on photographs only to rule out airbag deployment concerns. No warning lights or messages related to the airbag system were observed prior to the collision. The non-deployment of the airbags placed my safety at risk during a frontal impact.Read more

In 9/2025 I noticed that the vehicle software was defaulting to a speed limit of 55 mph. I noticed that when in any form of autopilot and FSD it would accelerate to that speed. This happens in any situation before the car encounters a sign or an area that it's internal map corrects it, which is not common outside of major routes in Idaho. This includes paved marked roads, graded roads, single trac
... k dirt roads, my driveway and garage. Sometimes the car controls it's speed consistent with conditions, sometimes not. It can happen unexpectedly, and that's the issue. Where I have learned this is a problem, I of course turn off the AP or FSD and drive myself, however, if I am in driver assist mode and things are going well and the speed limit in the vehicle changes suddenly to the default 55 mph, it can take a moment for me to react. In October 2025 I reported this to my Tesla Service center as well as Tesla's over the air and on line email reporting options (from which I got no response). The service center entered a ticket directly with Tesla, and told me that that Tesla was aware. The explanation that came back was that it was due to a mapping update for the internal map of the car. They said it was the result of Google Maps setting the default speed limit in Idaho, which is where I live, to 55 and that this was due to a September 2025 update. They said it might be corrected with the next update, which has not occurred at this point (January 2026). This speeding behavior can happen suddenly and unexpectedly and seemingly randomly, and has the potential to injure pedestrians, the driver, and property, not to mention that it is also exceeding by far the legal speed limit. Drivers from other areas that may not be aware of the issue are likely to be caught unaware. There is absolutely no reason for the default speed to be 55, ever. It's unsafe, and unnecessary. It is rare to see a speed limit of 55 at all in Idaho. Most of the roads are above or below that speed limit.Read more

My 2025 Toyota Camry XSE (Hybrid) is subject to an open safety recall issued December 16, 2025. The recall involves a serious safety risk, and I was advised by the dealership not to drive the vehicle. At the time of the recall, the vehicle was approximately two months old with about 1,500 miles and in like-new condition. Because there is currently no available remedy, I was required to leave the
... vehicle stored at the dealership. I have been without use of my own vehicle since January 6, 2026 and am using a loaner vehicle solely due to the safety recall, not by choice. Toyota has stated a fix may not be available until at least Q1 2026, with no defined repair timeline, and customers are being told to wait without interim mitigation. I am concerned about the inability to safely operate my vehicle and the long-term impact of extended storage on a nearly new hybrid vehicle, including hybrid battery health, fuel and fluid systems, seals, tires, and interior and exterior materials. Prior to the recall, the vehicle was routinely garaged and properly maintained, and extended outdoor storage due to the recall introduces risk of premature wear unrelated to normal ownership use. While the dealership has indicated the vehicle may be started periodically, this does not replace normal driving and ownership use. In addition to loss of use, I am required to maintain a $300 monthly loaner vehicle deposit while my vehicle remains unusable due to the recall. Toyota Customer Service has stated they cannot escalate or provide assistance and are instructed to close cases without resolution, creating ongoing financial burden through no fault of my own. Toyota has acknowledged similar recalls on other models lasting extended periods, yet no interim remedy, mitigation plan, or customer relief is offered here. I believe this raises concerns regarding recall remedy timeliness, consumer safety, and loss of use.Read more

While driving on a service road at approximately 45 mph, the corner side glass on my 2025 Hyundai Santa Fe shattered suddenly and without warning. There was no impact from a rock or object, and no other vehicles were present that could have caused debris. We had just entered the service road, and road conditions were normal. My [XXX] was seated in the front passenger seat at the time of the inci
... dent. The glass shattered inward, and the only thing preventing glass from entering the cabin was the window tint holding the shattered pieces together. This presented a serious safety hazard, as occupants could have been injured if the tint had not contained the glass. Once parked in my garage, I took pictures and tried to examine the damage but the window was still crackling and popping. My husband was able to inspected the window immediately after he returned home and confirmed there is no visible rock chip or point of external impact. The fracture pattern appears to originate from inside the glass or along the edge, consistent with a stress fracture or defect rather than road damage. This failure occurred under normal driving conditions with no accident, no debris strike, and no extreme temperature change. The sudden shattering while driving posed a significant risk to driver control and passenger safety, especially with multiple children in the vehicle. I am also aware of other owner complaints involving unexplained glass cracking or shattering on Hyundai Santa Fe vehicles, which raises concern that this may represent a broader defect rather than an isolated incident. I had been driving my 2022 Toyota Highlander XLE with 46k miles that I just got for about two weeks, so about 10 days out of the 14 i actually drove it from home to work and back home. I have caught this on video twice. This has caused me to hold up traffic on the highway behind me with no where to pull off because my particular side street comes out from a gulch cliff side. No check engine lights came on each time. I took it to an auto shop that did a minor test drive and suggested it go directly to Servco Toyota as it should have powertrain warranty on it still and they believed it was a fuel pump issue. The issue did not happen with this auto shop but I showed them the video. I scheduled an appt at Toyota and it is with them now. ... n for myself, passengers, and surrounding vehicles. I have experienced some scary occurrences with shuddering at high speeds, hesitation while near other innocent vehicles and stalling. I was never notified by Toyota about this recall or service campaign while it was active. I maintain current registration information and would have had the issue addressed immediately. Toyota acknowledged the campaign but refused support due to expiration, despite my lack of notice. I contacted Toyota and was instructed to file a complaint with NHTSA. Toyota declined to repair the issue under goodwill or policy exception. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate whether this defect should have been classified as a safety recall and whether consumers were properly notified. Sudden loss of power or stalling presents a significant safety risk and may warrant additional remedies or extension of the campaign for affected owners who were not notified.Read more
