It is the common issue crack in the exhaust pipe just before the flex exhaust tube due to poor welding of the bracket causing the exhaust system to rattle and leak exhaust into the cabin. The problem has been confirmed by the GM-authorized dealership and additionally reviewed by four independent mechanics, all of whom advised that replacing only the torque converter would be insufficient. It is corroding because the rear window started leaking. The total repair estimate was approx. $5000. My truck is a 2022, I bought it new in January, 2022 and it has 45,000 miles. In addition to the manufacturer's warranty I purchased Mopar's Max Care plan, with coverage for 85,000 miles and 8 years. In spite of this, Mopar denied the warranty claim. However, after speaking with the dealer's service manager and asking for good-will coverage, Mopar agreed to pay for 80% of the repair cost. The repair is now pending receipt of parts, which the dealer anticipates may take up to three weeks to collect. I am still driving the truck, as I rely on it for transportation.Read more

I reported the first incident to General Motors (GM) on May 15, 2024, but did not receive a response. On Sept 22, 2025, I reported the second incident that occurred on Sept 2, 2025, to GM, at which time they asked several questions and requested photos of my vehicle, which I provided. On Sept 22, 2025, GM requested I take my vehicle to my dealership, J.B.A. Chevrolet, for inspection. I took my vehicle to JBA on Sept 29, 2025, and was told that GM wanted photos of my vehicle, as well as photos of another 2024 Trax on the Lot for comparison. At that time, JBA had to wait for another vehicle to come in. Unknown if JBA or GM attempted to reproduce the issue during an inspection. On Oct 24, 2025, GM telephoned and issued a final determination, which I requested in writing and received on Nov 11, 2025. GM stated that because the design was consistent across Trax vehicles, and based on the facts provided, they were unable to assume responsibility for damages and suggested I resolve the issue with my insurance company. I did not ask for damages, I asked for corrective measures to avoid future injuries. I submitted a request for reconsideration on Dec 2, 2025. On Dec 16, 2025, a totally different GM office contacted me, which did not yield any results. Oil filter housing assembly- Resulted in very low engine oil with no warning lights or engine lights potentially leading to engine damage. Yes the component was inspected and replaced by dealership. This was after getting the oil plan repaired for leaking oil as well

On [XXX] at [XXX]. in Cupey, Puerto Rico I was moving from west to east in the[XXX] parish underground parking. While parking my car in reverse, I needed to drive forward to accommodate the car in the parking space. I was pressed against the seat by the airbags and the doors were not opening from the inside. I have panic attacks after this incident. The check engine light came on and it would run rough when started. It was determined the number four cylinder head was cracked, allowing antifreeze to leak into the engine block. In researching, I have found this is a reoccurring problem on the echo boost four-cylinder engine since 2017. It didn’t matter whether it was low mileage or high mileage the cracks would appear.
