The air conditioning system failed due to recurring evaporator leaks in my 2017 Honda Civic Hatchback. The evaporator is available for inspection upon request.AC failure causes interior fogging in humid/rainy conditions, reducing visibility and increasing crash risk. In extreme heat (e.g., over 100°F), it leads to driver fatigue, discomfort, distraction, and potential heat-related health issues,
... endangering occupants and other road users.Yes, confirmed twice: First in 2021 by an Honda service center (evaporator leak at 41,000 miles, repaired for $2,000). Second in early 2026 by a Honda dealer (recurrent evaporator leak at 100,000 miles, repaired for $2,500).Inspected by Honda via Customer Service Case, which was denied. No inspections by police, insurance, or others. No warning lamps or messages. Symptoms included gradually weakening cold air output and unusual odors from vents. First appeared ~2 weeks before full failure in 2021; similar in 2026, starting ~1 month prior. This is a known defect in 2016-2021 Civics with hundreds of similar complaints. Honda's extensions cover related parts but not evaporators. Total costs: $4,500. Please investigate for recall. Contact for receipts.Read more

I have put on over 20,000 miles since I purchased new in September 2024. The entire time of ownership, I have dealt with false blind spot warnings. With a clean car/clean sensors, it doesn't matter the time of day/night... when driving at highway speeds, the right rear blind spot warning comes on intermittently even when driving in the right lane of interstate with only the shoulder of the inter
... state next to me and no other obstructions. When this happens while in the passing lane and believing there is nobody next to me and I put on the blinker and try to switch lanes.... it alarms me saying there is something in my blindspot. These are false readings, that make this "safety feature" a safety concern. Sometimes, the car even tries to pull me back in my current lane even though there is nothing in sight in the lane I'm trying to switch to. The I have had the car to the dealership approximately 4 times for this ongoing issue and they claim they are unable to replicate the problem. I have read numerous other complaints reporting the same issue, and Mazda has not developed a fix to date.Read more

Vehicle Safety Complaint – 2024 Chevrolet Equinox I am reporting a safety defect involving unintended vehicle movement and improper shutdown behavior. At the time of the incident, the radio remained on despite the

This incident suggests a potential malfunction involving one or more of the following systems: gear position detection system transmission park engagement mechanism electronic shift control module ignition state logic or body control module The vehicle should not allow shutdown unless it is in Park, or it should provide clear warnings and prevent unintended movement. This behavior presents a serious safety risk of rollaway incidents. I am requesting a full diagnostic inspection and documentation of all stored fault codes, including history codes, prior to any resets. Please also check for software updates, technical service bulletins, or known defects related to shift position recognition or ignition state control. I am reporting a safety incident involving my Tesla while Autopilot/Full Self-Driving was engaged. No forward collision warning, lane departure alert, or disengagement occurred prior to the incident. The impact caused damage to the wheel and tire (see attached photo). This has been an ongoing problem since the purchase of the vehicle. It has been inspected and diagnosed by All Automatic. There were no warnings, messages or symptoms that were constant. It was sporadically slipping up until the time it gave out. VEHICLE: 2022 Toyota Corolla Cross L FWD MILEAGE: 40,000 miles DATE OF FAILURE: [Insert date] DEFECT DESCRIPTION: My vehicle's coolant bypass valve (part #16671-F2010) has failed, causing coolant leaks and triggering error codes. An independent shop diagnosed the issue as a defective coolant bypass valve before I took it to the Toyota dealership for confirmation. SAFETY CONCERN: This is a known
... defect affecting multiple Toyota models from 2019-2023. Coolant bypass valve failures can lead to engine overheating, potential engine damage, and loss of vehicle control if the engine fails while driving. This creates a serious safety hazard. MANUFACTURER RESPONSE: Toyota issued Customer Support Program 24TE04 covering this exact defect for 2020-2021 Corollas and certain RAV4 models. However, they arbitrarily excluded 2022-2023 Corolla Cross vehicles despite using THE IDENTICAL DEFECTIVE PART (F0010 coolant bypass valve) in all gas models through early 2024. Toyota dealership charged me $99 for a diagnostic to confirm what was already known. The repair quote was nearly $1,000. Toyota Corporate denied goodwill assistance, stating they only provide it to "loyal customers" who have spent significant money on servicing or own multiple Toyotas. CONSUMER IMPACT: This is the same defect that led to the class action lawsuit Barrientos v. Toyota. Toyota settled privately and created CSP 24TE04, but deliberately excluded newer model years with the same defective part. Consumers with 2022-2023 vehicles are forced to pay $900-1,300 out-of-pocket for a manufacturing defect that Toyota has already acknowledged in other model years. REQUESTED ACTION: I am requesting NHTSA investigate why Toyota's Customer Support Program excludes 2022-2023 model years when they contain the identical defective coolant bypass valve. Toyota should be required to extend CSP 24TE04 to cover ALL vehicles with part #16671-F2010 or F0010, regardless of model year.Read more

As we drove toward the highway to begin our journey home in our 2024 RWD Ioniq 5 with our entire family and luggage in the vehicle, we received a "Check Electric Vehicle System" warning and immediately pulled over and called Hyundai Roadside Assistance. They initially were going to send someone to jump the car, assuming it was an ICE, but once we said it was an EV, they said they didn't have the
... equipment to jump an EV. We then spoke to Hyundai Customer Care, and we reported that we received the "Check Electric Vehicle System" warning. The HCC rep said that she did not see any issues with the vehicle on her end, so we would be OK to drive it. We specified that we had a 1.5 hour drive home and asked her explicitly if we would be OK to drive this length of time with this warning and make it home? She again said that we would be OK to drive it. After getting off the phone with her, we proceeded onto the highway and within about 2 minutes, received the "Stop Vehicle and Check Power Supply" warning and then, within a few seconds, began to lose power. This was extremely dangerous, as we were going down a hill on a highway frequented by semi trucks in the rain. Fortunately, we were still able to turn on the hazard lights and coast into a nearby hotel parking lot. As we were losing power, we were afraid we would not be able to get out of the car because all the doors were locked and the windows were up due to the rain, so we quickly unlocked two of the doors as soon as we pulled into the parking lot. One of us then had to stay with the car at all times because we couldn't lock or unlock the car. We eventually had the car towed to the Hyundai dealer closest to us who determined that the ICCU and fuse had failed and needed to be replaced, but they could only replace them with new parts of the same design that could potentially fail again; Hyundai does not yet have a fix for the ICCU failure.Read more

I have had a Supplement Restraint Problem light on since I bought they vehicle. It was on and off intermittently for the past year or so, however now it will not go off. Upon inspection the wiring is damaged and there is not cover to the ground according to the honda mechanic that looked at my vehicle. I have not had any service work done in the area where the SRS box is located and they did not
... perform any further inspection on the system. Again, this was on when I bought my 2024 honda HR-V. The dealer was made aware and they advised me that it should be covered under warranty however nobody will fix the issue at this time. Please review and look into this issue as it has been noted in prior service bulletins for the SRS system light to have issues.Read more
