My 2021 Volvo XC90 Recharge has experienced multiple hybrid system failures under Volvo's factory 8-year/100,000-mile hybrid warranty, with fewer than 45,000 miles on the odometer. The high-voltage battery modules have failed multiple times, directly related to recall R10312 (NHTSA 25V-179), which identifies a supplier process deviation in LG battery modules creating a risk of internal short circu
... it and thermal runaway — an acknowledged fire risk. Critically, my vehicle has suffered two actual battery module failures, not preemptive recall replacements. This places my vehicle in a substantially higher risk category than others in the recall population with no prior symptoms. A vehicle that has already experienced the exact failure mode identified in a safety recall presents a materially greater ongoing safety risk. Additionally, my vehicle suffered a complete ERAD (Electric Rear Axle Drive) failure — a known defect that Volvo acknowledged by releasing a redesigned ERAD2 unit, confirming awareness of this systemic issue. These repeated failures left my vehicle un-drivable and parked at the dealership for more than 6 months, with replacement parts repeatedly placed on backorder, causing severe and prolonged loss of use. I filed a formal complaint with Volvo Customer Care requesting a vehicle buyback. After months of inadequate communication, Volvo declined to buy back the vehicle or offer reasonable trade-in accommodation. Instead, Volvo offered a nominal monetary concession contingent on signing an NDA, which I declined as insufficient given the documented safety risk, repeated failures of a recalled component, extended loss of use, nor out of pocket car rental expenses. I am filing this complaint to ensure my vehicle's actual failures are part of the NHTSA record for R10312/25V-179, and to request NHTSA evaluate whether Volvo's response to owners who have experienced actual failures — rather than preemptive recall repairs — warrants further regulatory scrutiny.Read more

I did receive a letter this week from Brian Leonard, a service Manager at Price Ford Simi Valley regarding recall 23S64. The letter notified me of the new recall, that their business will "pick up and deliver my vehicle, provide me a loaner vehicle, and complete the recall repairs for me". I received this letter the day before the brake failure. The morning after the brakes failed causing the crash, I contacted Mr. Leonard who told me they will now not fix any of the issues or comply with any part of the letter, that I should file a claim with my insurance and take the car to a Ford dealership in Turlock. This was communication was all via email and Simi Valley Ford has now ended communication with me. This car was purchased brand new and I have had nothing but issues and recalls with it. Additionally while driving it 3 weeks ago on [XXX] , the car lost all power. I pulled over to the side of the road and sat for about 10 minutes debating what to do. I attempted to restart the vehicle, it started and I was able to complete my drive home with no warning or indicator lights appearing. This car is a lemon! Rough running sensation followed the noise under the load. Noise returned when the accelerator was pressed and then the engine stopped running while traveling 45-50 mph. Placed the shifter to neutral and attempted to restart, engine rolled slowly for a brief moment and then locked up entirely. Starter only clicks when attempted after that. This is a complaint regarding the handling of safety recall 20S62 (also referenced as 20S32) by Ford Motors and the dealership that performed the recall repairs, Hallada Motors. The vehicle was taken by the previous owner to Hallada 3 separate times to address the same recall related to the rear suspension toe link/ball joint issue. Documentation indicates the most recent repair occurring in 2022.
... This recall specifically involves components connected to the rear suspension that, if not properly addressed, can lead to corrosion and structural damage affecting the frame. Based on the history of repeated recall repairs and the current condition of the vehicle, we believe that the repair approach taken was insufficient. By the time of the third recall service in 2022, the frame should have been thoroughly inspected and potentially replaced due to corrosion risk identified in the recall guidance. The vehicle is currently being inspected and serviced at Ewald Ford. Their technicians documented significant corrosion and unusual frame damage, which they photographed and submitted to Ford corporate while requesting that the recall case be reopened. Despite this documentation, Ford has refused to reopen the recall or authorize a frame replacement. Ewald Ford technicians noticed irregularities in the documentation from Hallada Motors. 2 separate entries list the mileage as exactly 87,600 miles and exactly 95,000 miles, both ending in multiple zeros. The technicians indicated this is unusual and raised concerns whether the recall work was properly completed. The vehicle now has severe frame corrosion and structural damage and is unsafe and unusable. We are without a vehicle and have incurred financial loss. We believe the current condition is the result of improper/incomplete recall repairs. We request a look at the recall repairs performed were completed in compliance & ford's refusal to reopen is consistent with safety obligations. Ford should be held accountable.Read more

This has happened three times with the 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD LTZ truck. Each time, the failure was following a remote start in my driveway. I know two of those events occurred when we had a more significant temperature drop as there was snow on the ground. Upon getting into the driver seat and putting into Reverse to back out of the driveway, I discovered the brakes and power steering had failed. The dealer on this third time indicated a check valve somewhere was "sticky" resulting in the failure of a hose with a booster tied to either the brakes or power steering (not sure which) failing taking the other part out. In this third case, either power steering or brake fluid vapors had been sucked back into the heater as things had sprayed around the engine compartment. The cab of the vehicle presenting a haze/fog in the vehicle causing me to realize there was something wrong upon opening the truck door. I owned a 2021 Hyundai Elantra N Line that experienced a recurring transmission issue. In warm weather conditions the transmission would intermittently slip and stutter, causing a jerky engagement when attempting to accelerate. In cold weather the vehicle operated normally without these symptoms. When the issue occurred, the vehicle would sometimes hesitate or fail to move forward smoothly when p
... ressing the accelerator. This created unsafe driving situations, particularly when pulling into traffic or accelerating from a stop. On multiple occasions this behavior nearly resulted in rear-end collisions because the vehicle did not respond reliably to throttle input. The issue appeared to be temperature related, as the problem consistently occurred during warmer weather while the vehicle operated normally in colder conditions. Because the vehicle could fail to accelerate predictably, this created a safety hazard for myself and other drivers. I believe this may indicate a potential defect in the transmission system.Read more

Hello, I has problems driving my car like by brakes braking out of nowhere. There was even a couple times I felt like the car swerved, even though I did not do anything to the steering wheel. So I’m a little upset that I came in for a recall and they’re trying to get me to do a repair for almost $2000. See attached document for complaint. The undersigned is legal counsel representing XXXXXXXXXXX in the above-mentioned matter. Please be advised that XXXXXXXXXX purchased a new Kawasaki 2024 motorcycle model ZX636JRFBN on May 9, 2024 with total purchase price of $13,981.92. On or about April of 2025, XXXXXXXXXXX received a recall notice with follow up notice in June of 2025 NHTSA Recall No. 25V376
... “Crankshaft Bearing Seizure” causing the engine to potentially “lose engine power unexpectedly due to a seizure of the #5 crankshaft bearing” that may lead to an increased risk of a crash. Given the nature of the recall, the notice is marked with a “DO NOT RIDE” advisory until the repair is made and that the customer is to contact a dealer for such repair. Sometime on or about late August of 2025, the motorcycle was inspected at a Kawasaki dealership in an effort to address the recall. This was the earliest that the dealership could address the recall nearly three months after getting the “DO NOT RIDE” notice. The mechanic who examined the motorcycle indicated that it did not appear that the bike had the defect. In November of 2025, an additional recall notice “Crankshaft Bushing Seizure” was issued under Recall # 25V798 since the notice acknowledges that a prior repair on the vehicle may not have addressed the defect. A second letter was issued in November of 2025 under the same recall notice indicating the parts needed for the repair are not available. Finally, another notice was issued under the same recall, 25V798. Again a “DO NOT RIDE” warning is issued on this notice. The letter advises that the “method used to torque the crankcase bolts will be different than the one used in the prior recall “and that the recall applies to “vehicles already remedied under recall campaign MC25-08 (NHSTA Recall #25V376). Once again there are instructions to contact a dealer for repairs. It is presumed that parts are now available to attempt another repair. In early September 2025, I leased a 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona EV. Unfortunately, the vehicle has already been in the dealership service department three separate times since I took delivery. The first two service visits occurred after the vehicle completely bricked and would not turn on. I was informed that the vehicle’s electronic module required updating and that the batteries had repeatedly
... died. Most recently, the situation has escalated to a significant safety concern. Earlier this week, the vehicle began shaking and intermittently accelerating and decelerating on its own while in operation(I have video proof of this) This behavior poses a serious danger to me and to others on the road. Due to these ongoing issues, I filed a formal complaint with Stellantis and was assigned case number [XXX]. I have been working with Stellantis representative Steve Stander; however, communication has been extremely difficult. Unfortunately, Mr. Stander has not been responsive to phone calls or emails in a timely manner, which has made resolving this matter challenging. At this time, the vehicle is once again in the shop, leaving me without transportation. During our last discussion, Mr. Stander acknowledged that Stellantis understands the vehicle is not dependable and offered $10,000 in down payment assistance along with employee pricing on a new Stellantis product. However, I currently still owe approximately $3,400 on the lease. Given the serious safety issues and repeated failures of the vehicle, I am requesting Stellantis’ assistance in grounding the lease and covering the remaining $3,400 balance so that I may exit this lease. I also previously sent Mr. Stander a video clearly showing the vehicle accelerating on its own to document the issue. I would greatly appreciate your help in resolving this matter as quickly as possible. It is urgent that I be able to safely exit this vehicle situation. On highway taking an exit. The brake pedal sank and did not engage at normal pressure, I had to push the brake all the way down for it to engage. Concurrently the steering wheel locked up where I could not turn the wheel at all. I drove straight through the exit ramp to the entrance ramp, luckily no one was entering the highway at the same time. I very well could have hurt some one else or myself
... . The steering wheel finally engaged where I had full power steering again and I was able to remove my truck off the highway and cautiously drove to a parking lot to get it towed. Vehicle communication failures. One point unable to start the vehicle. Then the wipers and all warning lights came on without being able to turn the vehile off. Had to disconnect both batteries while the wipers destroyed themselves on a dry windshield. This is also causing a Service Shifter warning light then total loss of power steering while driving down the road at any speed. This includes high
... way speeds. Dealer replaced power steering system with no resolution. Thousands of dollars in repair. Dealer stated they repaired wiring. Did not fix the issue. Now it is more intermittent. When the communication between modules is not functioning properly it disables the power steering even while driving. This is extremely dangerous and I can no longer trust my vehicle. There are thousands of reports and or reviews about this issue. Someone has to be held accountable. I have spent thousands and my Dealer spent weeks trying to resolve the issue. Jeep has roughly 37000 miles. This is an on going issue since October of 2025.Read more
