Vehicle had history of hard shifting from 1st drive. On January 24, 2026 we heard a ringing sound as we were driving. Approximately 10 minutes after the noise began, the Check Engine light illuminated. We drove back home and connected our code reader to find P0741, P2714 and P2757. Had the vehicle towed to my Toyota Service Center and upon inspection, was informed that the transmission had failed
... and would require replacement. I was informed that although it was a 2017 with the UA80E manufacturered in April 2017 - it did not qualify for free replacement under Toyota. A rebuilt unit was secured and installed on 2/11/26. Toyota authorized $2000 Goodwill Assistance and their Warranty Labor Rate. I paid the remainder of the bill. The 'new' transmission also shifts hard and just doesn't feel like it it working right.Read more

My 2021 Toyota Sienna Hybrid has an intermittent and dangerous brake failure where the brakes suddenly release pressure during normal braking. When slowing down—especially at lower speeds or approaching a stop—the brake pedal briefly loses resistance and the vehicle surges forward as if the brakes let go. I must immediately re‑apply hard pedal pressure to avoid rolling into traffic or anothe
... r vehicle. The vehicle as a result can stop up to six feet past the intended stopping point in some instances. This issue is unpredictable and has occurred multiple times. It creates a serious safety risk. Toyota performed T‑SB‑0047‑24 (Brake ECU Reprogramming) on my vehicle, whereafter the brakes seemed to function normally for several months, but the problem resurfaced and occurred threee time in one week in May of 2026, which prompted me to bring it backk to Toyota for another look. The dealer has been unable to reproduce the issue and therefore has not repaired it. The veicle has been returned to me, and continues to have the problem intermittently at a random frequency. Toyota corporate Brand Engagement Center has been notified, and a case was opened (Ref # 260528002416). This case was closed however after telling me that the dealership connot reproduce the problem, therefore they cannot repair it. This appears to be a brake control defect involving the hybrid brake‑by‑wire system. Because the failure is intermittent and leaves no diagnostic codes, it is extremely difficult for the dealer to diagnose, but the safety risk is severe. I'd like to advise that I have owned and driven earlier hybrid models (2012-14) that never exhibited this type of brake failure. I'd also like to point out... an internet search of this problem reveals that this problem seems to be prevelant in newer Toyota hybrid models. This was confirmed by the service manager at my local dealership. I have not been informed of any continuing engineering efforts given the failure of the TSB.Read more

The contact owns a 2017 Toyota Highlander. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who determined that the spark plugs needed replaced. The spark plugs were replaced by an independent mechanic, but the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken back to the independent mechanic, who retrieved diagn

The contact was informed that the fuel injectors needed to be replaced. The vehicle was taken to a second dealer, Toyota of Cedar Park (5600 183A Toll Rd, Leander, TX 78641), who determined that cylinder #5 needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The driver's seat produces a noticeable popping sensation against my back during acceleration, braking, and when driving over bumps. The issue appears to originate from the lumbar support assembly within the driver's seat. I have also observed that the condition occurs much more frequently in warmer temperatures. I brought the vehicle to the dealership for inspection; however, they were unable to
... duplicate the concern during my visit. Because they could not reproduce the issue, I was informed that no further investigation or repairs would be performed. This is particularly frustrating because the problem appears to be well documented among owners of 2025 and 2026 Toyota Camry vehicles, with numerous similar complaints reported through NHTSA filings, online owner forums, and social media discussions. I have already taken the car to my dealership twice, with no solution. The recurring popping sensation is distracting while driving and has the potential to divert the driver's attention from the road, creating a safety concern. I am also now experiencing back and hip pain.Read more

The driver’s seat lower cushion in my 2023 Toyota Highlander provided inadequate support during normal driving, particularly on the left side of the seat cushion where support for my left leg and hip area appeared insufficient. This caused uneven seating posture, increased discomfort, pressure, and difficulty maintaining a proper driving position during extended periods of driving. The seat bec
... ame increasingly uncomfortable during prolonged use and caused pain, numbness, and difficulty maintaining a proper driving position. I am a professional driver and spend many hours operating the vehicle. Over time, the lack of support contributed to left-sided sciatica symptoms that required medical evaluation and physical therapy. Medical records document that prolonged sitting in the vehicle aggravated my condition and limited my ability to sit and drive comfortably. An independent upholstery specialist inspected the seat and determined that additional foam had to be added to the driver’s seat lower cushion to improve support and comfort. After the modification, the seat became significantly more comfortable. This indicates that the original seat cushion support may be inadequate. I believe this condition may affect other vehicles of the same model and should be investigated as a potential safety concern because it can affect driver posture, comfort, concentration, and safe vehicle operation during extended driving.Read more

I own a 2015 Toyota Corolla with Super White paint. The vehicle has experienced widespread paint peeling and delamination consistent with Toyota's known Super White paint defect. The paint is peeling in multiple locations across the vehicle, including along numerous body panel edges and on the exterior surface of the trunk. The condition has continued to worsen and now affects a substantial porti
... on of the vehicle. In affected areas, the white paint has separated from the vehicle and exposed the underlying gray primer. The paint failure is not the result of an accident, collision, or improper maintenance. A professional body shop inspected the vehicle and advised that the paint failure is consistent with Toyota's known Super White paint defect. After learning today that Toyota had previously established a Customer Support Program for vehicles affected by this defect, I contacted Toyota and requested assistance. Toyota declined coverage because the program had expired. I never received notice of the program while it was active and therefore had no opportunity to have the vehicle inspected or repaired under the program. I am filing this complaint because Toyota previously acknowledged this paint defect through its Customer Support Program, yet owners who did not receive notice of the program may be left responsible for significant repair costs caused by what appears to be a known manufacturing defect.Read more

They have no idea how long it will be. It could be weeks or it could be months. In looking online, it appears that Toyota has been aware of this issue with the 8 speed transmission and has not been addressing the problem. My question, why isn't Toyota addressing this problem? Why does it take weeks or months to building a replacement transmission? Something needs to be done about this.Read more

It was not noticeable to me while the bumper was black, but once they put the mint green wrap on, it was extremely noticeable. I have went back to Carstar multiple times for them to make adjustments to fix the problem. My insurance adjustor has inspected it multiple times and referred me to Germain Certified Toyota Collision Center to assist after he found online forums and was told by Direct Collison center (also Toyota Certified) staff that it was a known issue with the OEM bumpers and that there was no fix for it. All have confirmed and been able to reproduce the issue. The adjustor says it is a manufacturing warranty issue ane neither Certified Toyota Collision Centers we talked to were willing to help or take responsibility for it. Germain said it is how the car is meant to handle impact and that scrapes on driveways or minor bumps/potholes can cause it to pop out of place. It is a safety issue because it could continue to get worse and pop out or fall off while I am driving. It also affects the front sensor which affects a multitude of safety features as well as lane assist, which I cannot turn off. I am worried that the sensor will fail and cause me to get in an accident if it jerks my wheel wrong.Read more

... ck paint to cure, I went to get the bumper rewrapped with the mint green wrap that was put on the car by the dealership before I purchased it. At that time, the wrap company noticed that there was a gap in the bumper under the passenger side headlight and that the bumper could be popped back into place, but easily popped back out.
