On December 29, 2025, the 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster on my 2023 Toyota RAV4 Prime went completely blank upon startup. This failure immediately eliminated my ability to see the speedometer, fuel and battery levels, tire pressure warnings, and all critical brake and hybrid system malfunction indicators, rendering the vehicle completely unsafe and illegal to operate on public roads. I imme
... diately brought the car to Wondries Toyota in [XXX] , where it has remained ever since. The dealership confirmed the failure is related to Toyota Safety Recall 25V595 (Toyota internal code 25TA08). The service department advised me that the vehicle is unsafe to drive, but they are unable to repair it because the required replacement combination meter is on national backorder with no estimated time of arrival. As of late March 2026, my vehicle has been sitting out of service at the dealership for approximately 90 days. Because Toyota has failed to provide a timely remedy for this severe safety defect, my vehicle has been abandoned on the dealer lot for a quarter of a year. Furthermore, this prolonged, unmaintained inactivity introduces secondary safety and vehicle integrity hazards. The plug-in hybrid high-voltage battery has been sitting idle and degrading for three months, and the fuel in the system is destabilizing. I am filing this complaint because Toyota's failure to supply replacement parts for a massive safety recall within a reasonable timeframe has permanently compromised the safety, use, and value of my vehicle, and I am currently proceeding with a Lemon Law repurchase that vastly exceeds the 30-day out-of-service threshold in [XXX] . Lastly, we got this RAV4 Prime new and have had all the services done at the authorized dealership since day one. The vehicle experienced multiple electrical and safety-related malfunctions while driving. On several occasions the instrument cluster and vehicle screens suddenly went black while the vehicle was in motion, causing loss of critical driving information such as speed and warnings. In another incident the vehicle displayed a “High Voltage Malfunction” warning while driving and the vehicle shut
... down shortly after. This resulted in a sudden loss of propulsion and created a dangerous situation on the road. The vehicle has also displayed a “Coolant Too Hot – Stop Vehicle” warning which required replacement of the coolant pump at the dealership. In a separate event the vehicle lost battery charge unexpectedly after indicating a full charge and had to be towed to a charging station. The vehicle is also subject to Safety Recall 26V073 involving the high-voltage battery. According to the recall notice, the battery may fail due to an internal short circuit which could lead to a vehicle fire while parked or driving. The manufacturer currently does not have a repair available and advises owners to limit the battery charge to 80% and park the vehicle outside when not in use due to the potential fire risk. These repeated failures combined with the unresolved safety recall raise serious concerns about the safety and reliability of the vehicle. The issues began around September 2024 and have continued through multiple repair visits into March 2026.Read more

During that time, dashboard and engine lights came on. 3 days later I received a phone call from the dealership stating I need a new EGR sensor which should have been done the first time but was not (by a less experienced mechanic), for free, and the part would be in tomorrow 3/12/26. I purchased this vehicle new in September 2025. At approximately 3,903 miles, the vehicle exhibited a failure of the transmission system affecting its ability to remain stationary when placed in park. When the vehicle was placed in “Park” on an incline, the park mechanism failed to hold the vehicle, and the vehicle rolled despite being in park. This condition presents a clear risk of unintend

Diagnostic inspection confirmed that the gear selector and transmission position indicators were functioning correctly; however, the vehicle continued to roll freely in park. The parking pawl was audibly engaging but failed to mechanically secure the vehicle. No diagnostic trouble codes were present, and no evidence of external damage, improper use, or installation issues was identified. The failure appears to be internal to the transmission system. This defect occurred at very low mileage and involves a core safety function intended to prevent unintended vehicle movement. Based on these facts, this issue is being reported as a potential safety-related defect. The dealer had the vehicle for over 30 days and installed a completely new transmission.Read more

Vehicle experienced multiple safety-related failures at approximately 500 miles. The failures included complete instrument cluster loss (no speedometer or gauges), unpredictable windshield wiper operation, headlight flickering, complete loss of brake lights and turn signals, rear liftgate malfunction, and airbag/seatbelt warning indicators. These issues created unsafe operating conditions, includ
... ing inability to monitor vehicle speed, loss of rear signaling and brake indication to other drivers, and uncertainty regarding airbag system functionality. This presented a risk to both the driver and surrounding traffic. The failures occurred intermittently and in combination, indicating a potential systemic electrical issue rather than a single isolated component failure. The vehicle has been taken to an authorized Mazda dealership and is currently under inspection and repair. The dealership has indicated the instrument cluster requires replacement and is currently on backorder. Full root cause has not been confirmed. Warning indicators, including airbag and seatbelt system alerts, were observed prior to and during the failures. Vehicle completely lost power and quite running in the middle of the desert in Arizona. This relates to Saftey Recall 93c. I had to have the car towed and repaired in Scottsdale, AZ. I think six months is enough time given that I cannot trust the reliability of my vehicle due to this serious problem. The high-voltage battery system in my 2023 Mercedes-Benz EQB 250+ is subject to NHTSA Recall 26V-073, the third recall issued for the same battery cell defect. The manufacturer has acknowledged that the two prior recall remedies (25V-050 and 25V-894, both software-based Battery Management System updates) were "failed remedies" that did not eliminate the risk of internal short circuit and th

The manufacturer has instructed all affected owners to park the vehicle outdoors and away from any structure and to limit charging to 80% state of charge until a full battery pack replacement can be performed. The battery replacement parts are not expected to be available until approximately December 2026 — roughly 9 months from the date of this complaint. These restrictions create a significant safety risk and loss of use for my household. I have a newborn infant and no viable outdoor parking option. The vehicle cannot be safely parked in my garage per the manufacturer's own instructions due to fire risk. My spouse cannot safely park away from our residence and transport an infant on foot. The vehicle was previously brought to an authorized Mercedes-Benz dealership for prior recall-related service. The underlying battery cell defect — attributed by the manufacturer to deviations in the supplier (Farasis Energy) production process — has not been resolved despite multiple repair attempts. The high-voltage battery is available for inspection upon request. No warning lamps or messages appeared prior to the recall notification. The defect is an internal cell-level issue that may cause thermal runaway without warning, whether the vehicle is parked, charging, or in operation. On March 5, 2026, while I and my 2 passengers were traveling on the 405 Freeway at approximately 40–50 mph, the vehicle suffered a catastrophic total loss of power. The engine shut off and all electronic systems failed simultaneously, including the instrument cluster and all interior lighting. Most critically, the hazard lights were inoperable, leaving the vehicle invisible to high-speed traffic

After approximately 10–15 minutes, the dashboard, infotainment, and climate control systems began flickering intermittently before power temporarily returned. Upon attempting to re-enter traffic to reach an exit, the vehicle stalled a second time while in motion. I returned to the shoulder again. After another 10 minutes the vehicle started and I was eventually able to exit the freeway and reach my residence. The following morning, the vehicle was completely unresponsive and would not start. It was towed to Land Rover Santa Monica dealership on March 6, 2026, where it currently remains for diagnosis and repair. This incident on the 405 freeway marks the third occurrence of a total loss of propulsion and electrical failure while the vehicle was in motion. Despite previous repair attempts, the defect persists, rendering the vehicle fundamentally unsafe for operation. I am gravely concerned for my personal safety, as well as the safety of other motorists on public streets and highways. A vehicle that spontaneously stalls at high speeds—while simultaneously losing the ability to activate hazard lights—presents an unacceptable risk of a high-speed rear-end collision. Given that this is a recurring, catastrophic safety failure, I am requesting an immediate and permanent resolution, as the vehicle in its current state is a liability to public safety and unsafe to be driven by me or anyone.Read more

March 5th purchased a battery from Autozone Z net Fit Match that caused cascading electrical and life -safety risk while traveling from hewitt, TX to Washington DC for our families spring break trip including 4 minor children. Component: 12-Volt Battery / Electrical System / Power Steering / Service Brakes Summary: Vehicle suffered catastrophic failure of Power Steering and Braking systems while
... in motion due to the installation of an incompatible lead-acid battery recommended by AutoZone’s 'Z-Net' catalog. Despite Toyota Technical Service Bulletin T-TT-0523-19 (Jan 2019) stating this VIN requires an Enhanced Flooded Battery (EFB/AGM) for its Stop-Start system, the retailer’s database continues to misidentify standard batteries as compatible. This mismatch causes a voltage drop that disables critical safety modules ('Limp Mode'). I have video evidence of the catalog error. This is a systemic misrepresentation affecting 2017+ Toyota Highlander safety compliance.Read more
